    Chatting on Monday

Crying  Too short a weekend. I did get lot of yard work done, but not enough.  We're supposed to have rain most of the week, except for today, so will have to finish the lawn when I get home.  Hopefully DS will feel up to doing some mowing too.

I wish I knew whats up with me being awake every morning around 4:30 or 5...can usually doze back off, but still......

    Have a happy Monday everyone!

    HI EVERYONE!!!

I have been AWOL for a few weeks.  We were getting ready for vacation (just got back from Vegas on Saturday) and work was crazy.  Haven't had a chance to catch up with all the threads, but hope to do that today.

I will also be posting some recent pics of Riley and vacation hopefully soon.

(((HUGS))) and good vibes to all those that need them!

From yesterday's pondering about Deb and the Derby, she texted me that she had the winning horse, so I'm sure she did well collecting $$ afterward. It paid $32.40 on a $2 bet - not too shabby.

Our track here was more crowded than I've ever seen it in 15 years, so I am exhausted today.

Must work on the company Amex now.

DH & I had a great weekend. Sunday was our 5th anniversary (14.5 years if you include dating Smile ) so we went to Wisconsin Dells. We stayed at the Kalahari resort. They have a huge indoor waterpark and indoor theme park. Some of you have seen my post on facebook...

I tried the bodysurfing thing and ended up putting on a pretty good show for those waiting in line. Indifferent I wiped out and my bikini top AND bottom came down. YEAH. It was all kinds of awesome. I was mortified and dieing of laughter at the same time. DH said my face was super red. The attendant held up a towel while I fixed it, but there were lines on both sides of the thing so it only shielded one side. So apparently this happens often, and there are NO signs saying a bikini is not recommended. I really wish they'd have rash guards or something available for people to wear just for that ride. I looked at one-piece suits in the gift shop and #1 they were $100-$170, and #2 they were all size 8 and up.

     Yea Deb!

Good weekend here too - great day at the beach - couldn't done without the violent storms we had over the last 20 miles or so and the lack of electric at home but hey...........that's Mother Nature

Nice cool day yesterday - got a bunch done and got to see the baby shark er I mean baby Golden for a while

Tracy the lasagna was excellent and we had plenty for you - still do today LOL

Just back from a long walk with B - our fields are shoulder height now, my shoulder and I am 5'9"

I am grateful for prissy pants because he went off following his nose (and I couldn't see him due to the grass height) and found a very dead possum, when I found him he was just sniffing it and gave me a look like PU iz stinky. And off he went, phew!

Janice I can only imagine the embarrassment. I grew up near the ocean so learned at a young age that bikini's and moving water are a no-no. I think every teenage girl I grew up with has had some type of 'issue' at the beach

Spent the whole weekend with my Tracking club plotting and then laying tracks for Tracking Dog Excellent test.  BEAUTIFUL weekend!  Unfortunately, I wasn't stinky enough for the Bloodhound who got my trail.  He went off down the cross-track layer's trail and failed.  Big bummer for me, because last year mine was the only track a dog passesd on.  Luckily, a dog DID pass their TDX yesterday - a smooth collie who barked a ton at the beginning!  It was kind of funny. We had a big black draft cross horse standing near the start of the track who was interested in why all these people were in his field, and especially at the black tan and white thing barking out there!  The two folks entered for their TD did pass, one of whom was an Airedale.

I woke up exhausted today, knowing I have to work all day, then teach a class tonight.  Until I remembered "HEY!  I switched shifts with someone!" So instead of working all day today and having tomorrow off, I'm working 12:30-5:30pm both days.  Hooray for sleeping in a little bit!!!  Gotta get my map ready for my students.

Jan, that's so embarrassing about the over-exposure! But, I figure we're all human with half of us having the same body parts, etc.

PS, did someone say candy?  (I woke up to the explanation of why I'm so desperate for chocolate!  Ahh, being a woman.  We're so lucky, aren't we Jan? lol)

LOL... I heard on the news this morning which horse won and I had to laugh because I remembered Tina asking you if that was your pick :)

Congrats!  Now I have to go read up on everyone else's weekend.

Congratulations, Deb!  (Happy Mother's Day *grin*)

    Welcome back, Lisa

I'm in for chocolate, too please

Rough weekend -- my Dad is still in the hospital and this morning's big colonoscopy will hopefully show where he's bleeding internally, and hoping it's not something dire.  He's had major trouble regulating his blood thinner for years so the hope is that it's just caused a lesion.  He's gotten a lot of blood this weekend tho. 5 units (I get this stuff with dogs but not with humans so much).

And Charlie is at the opthamology vets having his cataracts removed as I type.

I'm really hoping for GOOD news today ...

I've been working out quite a bit since we joined the Y in February, so I wanted to show it off! Cool

Honestly I didn't think the bikini would be a problem. I think only like 20% or less of the girls/women there were in a one-piece.

We just got switched to once a week trash collection starting this month. About a month ago, we got a letter in the mail telling us this, and a little map of the township printed on the back, where you could barely see anything. Apparently, there was also a larger map in at the township building, and the police officer the neighbor is going with checked that one, and said our collection was Thursday. So, half our street (and I think half the neighborhood) put the trash out on Thursday. Thursday came and went, and the trash did not get collected. My friend never got the letter on her street (different neighborhood, same township), so they put their trash out on the regular day, and it just stayed there. She knew though because I think I had mentioned it to her, so she looked it up online, where they had a nice easy to read list of what streets would be on each day (why they couldn't have just sent us  a letter and said to check the website for that list, I don't understand). So finally, the garbage trucks came today (hooray! No more trash sitting out in front of the house!). At 10:26, the neighborhood association sent us an email reminding of the switch to once a week trash collection. Ummm... that's so useful, considering most people are at work, and some people have already had collection on their street. Thanks for reminding us in advance! (okay, I guess for me, it is in advance, since they have not been by my street yet).

Charlie is out of surgery -- successful and he's ok.  HOwever, his cataracts were SO old that the "envelope" that holds the lens was, itself, extremely opaque & damaged so they had to remove it, therefore he has no prosthetic implants.  That means his vision will be *very very good* in distance but blurry close up.

    • Gold Top Dog

Awwww, poor Charlie. I'm glad the surgery went well and trust that with your help, he'll adjust just fine to the new vision problems. Sending good thoughts for your dad's colonoscopy today too. I hope they find something easy to treat.

Jan - I cracked up at your FB post yesterday and probably turned red just imagining how you felt. I too grew up body surfing at the beach and can remember coming up from one major tumble and I my bikini top was around my neck, along with a huge strand of seaweed. I was standing there trying to get my wits about me and I looked up to a bunch of people sitting on their deck watching me Embarrassed

I have been so tired lately. I went to bed at 9:30 and didn't get up until a little after 6. Shane has been a complete angel about sleeping thru the night now that he's decided the foot of the bed is pretty comfy. Stick out tongue I'm taking Thurs. & Fri. off and we're going to visit my brother and family. My great nephew, Noah, is 1 1/2 and adorable. I can't wait to meet him. I really need more than a couple days off though. I need to schedule a week off soon, even if we don't go anywhere.
