He's not a very talkative person by nature, but the more he drinks, the "chattier" he gets.  Sometimes, he starts telling old stories of his years in the service or working on his sister's farm (stories I've heard way too many times)!  Tongue Tied

wow must be related to my DH

And Callie I get sleepy with any alcohol so I do get quieter and well sleepier LOL

Ladies I was a bit nervous for my first massage but once I experienced it I have no issues with disrobing :)  I don't like the face doughnut thing though AT ALL!

Whew long day and I still feel fairly yuck - hoping I sleep well and wake up feeling better

Hey Ginger!!! Come up for air on occasion OK?

Kate I suppose the geese could be nesting - the one yesterday was and that place is about 2 miles from the lake I was at this morning.  But I wouldn't think they would be nesting where we were unless they have a setup under the rental boats

I will say that right now there is so much bird activity everywhere I just LOVE it. There are a ton in our yard and the mill pond I went to yesterday was buzzing with geese, herons, egrets, ducks, swallows and a zillion songbirds. The lake was very active this morning too - geese, heron, gulls, cormorants, ducks, coots and swallows too. I stopped and noted how fortunate I am to have these resources so close by.

I am trying to work up some energy for a walk - I can only run first thing in the morning - I don't know why that is but that is the only time I feel motivated to do it

DH was supposed to work until 8 and came home at 6. I just rummaged through the fridge for my dinner so he's been instructed to do the same LOL

My DH gets all chatty after a drink or two. Very chatty. lol  I get sleepy but he keeps me awake with his chattering.

I don't know if anyone has seen the Great Blue Heron live cam from Cornell.  A Great Horned Owl attacked the nest and they have footage.  The attack is hard to discern but the noise from the herons is incredible.  One egg was damaged.  It's all part of nature but still upsetting to hear the distress of the herons. :(    The Decorah eaglets are starting to get their feathers and are doing well.  I haven't been watching as much as I did last year but check in once a day usually.

It's 94 degrees here.  No wonder I felt so hot when I was outside.

We have leftover chili verde for dinner.  Yum.

Jackie, that last sentence cracked me up -- sounds like our household!  A couple weeks ago, we had friends over for dinner, and various beverages were enjoyed well into the evening.  DH was Chatty-Cathy with our friends, and he was still chatting away when we went to bed.  I was nodding off to sleep as he yammered on (he didn't even need me for the conversation!).  I finally had to say, "Can you please stop talking?  I'm trying to sleep!"  Big Smile

We're seeing lots of birds around here -- but nothing like the variety you described, Karen.  We have lots of songbirds in the yard.  In fact, there have been a few nights where I've heard birds chirping in the middle of the night, which is odd.

I would like to tell one of the other people in a meetup group I am in to go screw himself. I sent an event suggestion, which I had been discussing at a walk tonight with another one of the event organizers. Luke will be in a flyball demo if it's not too hot for him to run. I've never been to it, but it's apparently a very good event, and the person I was talking to has gone before. Anyway, the person I would like to tell off, he wrote back to me that several of the members, half a dozen or so, would be at another group member's wedding that day. Umm... okay, that's great. I had discussed it already with the other person, and she said to send it along. I am obviously going to be attending since my dog will be in it, so I can be the host (but the person I talked to earlier set herself up as the as the host, which is fine too). There are 138 members in the group.  That's 130 people or so who are not going to the wedding (though half haven't been to the website in over two weeks, so probably are not really active). This is the same group where we decided a few weeks ago that it was okay to have two walks on the same day at the same time, because we have enough people, and some might prefer to walk on trails vs. paved, or slow vs. fast paced walk, etc. I don't care if nobody comes, it makes no difference to me since I will be going anyway. It's probably an hour from most people, I don't expect a ton of people are going to come. The point was simply just to put it there for the purposes of letting people know about it. And the point of this post is that I think the guy in question is nice, but in general, I find him to be an idiot.

Jen, I can completely understand how frustrating it is to have someone attempt to dissuade you from doing something he/she is not interested in because he/she believes themselves to be the authority.

The stupid food vendor issue has reared its ugly head again with someone making completely false claims in order support their own position and create division and strife in the group.  In the meantime I'm helping to plan a Benefit day for the Chief Maloney fund. I'm working with smart cooperative people from my training organization.  Which one is more deserving an endeavour, do you think?  *sigh*  Goodnight all...

That's the type of nonsense that makes me want to tell everyone involved they can go screw themselves, cause I'm done. I actually was director of a race for a local organization for its first two years along with a friend. The first year was a ton of work, since we really had no clue what we were doing. But, since we didn't know what we were doing, and didn't have adequate help, we handled everything on our own, and it was done right.  The heads of the organization realized we really needed help, and had someone help us the second year. She was such a horrible, rude, petty person to work with, that I refused to do it again. They put her in charge of recruiting and organizing volunteers. It took them a few more complaints and refusals of other volunteers to return to give her a different job. It was 2.5 years before I volunteered with the group again, for a completely different activity, after much desperate pleading.

I hope the thing for Chief Maloney is drama free!
