    Wicked Wednesday Chat

The sun is out!!!!!  At least for now :)  I've decided that next week, I'm going to start the Couch to 5K program.  It's official, I've lost whatever marbles I had.

Awesome. You can do it. I, however, hate loathe and despise running. If you have a smartphone check out runkeeper. Its a free app which tracks your running (pr hiking in my case) via gps and what not. It is pretty cool. I am basically on there so my brother can nag me if I haven't exercised in a while. It works wonders lol

Speaking of exercising I must have over done it last night. I could barely sleep, my shoulders were so sore. So, now I am very sleepy. Extra bold kcup to the rescue

It is sunny today here too! Yay. Flipping cold though (grumbles about mother nature).

I got a yes from the 2nd in command for my portland trip. One more yes to go. Let the lobbying begin!

LOL!  No smartphone here, I have the lowest tech flip phone possible.  I used to say I never run, even when chased, but my significant other's brother is my inspiration.  He was quite overweight a few years ago and then he got back into running.  He's lost a TON of weight and has run in the Boston Marathon twice.  Now, I have no desire for any marathons, but it couldn't hurt to try out jogging to help with my cardio health (which sucks heh).

Fingers crossed for you on Oregon.  I've always wanted to go there.

    Good luck!

Cathy I know nothing about heart murmurs but Jackie's comment that the cause is more important than the grade sounds right to me

I took B to the lake for an early swim and some geese were right outside the car, then two were on a pier. That wasn't an easy 50 yards to the lake LOL.  Then the two from the pier decided to go in the water and head our way honking the whole time. I was so proud of B, man he wanted to take chase but he didn't!!!! Big Smile I swear they hung around in our area (probably 40 yds from the swimming beast) honking for freaking ages. I was getting a bit jangled with each honk and was extremely thankful that they eventually swam away

Another cold morning....at least the sun is shining.  I'm waiting for my DH to shower and get dressed so we can go for breakfast which we do every Wednesday.  My day off from the Health Club.  Tomorrow I leave for home to go to a class luncheon and to visit friends and family.  Weather calls for rain all day tomorrow, I sure am not happy about that, the drive is almost two hours which means I'll have to leave around 9:30.  Not looking forward to the drive but will be nice to see classmates and my family again.  Miss Ava has had her walk and is now sleeping.  Have wonderful day everyone.

I really hate it when I keep forgetting to bring creamer in to work.  I can't have coffee without it - it just tastes yucky.  Milk doesn't cut it.

Was up until 3:30 this morning.  Got up at 6:40... ok, technically I woke up at 6:40 and got up at 7:02.  I really could use some coffee... Coffee

Paige, I can drink my coffee black, but I prefer light cream.  Milk, to me, tastes weird in coffee.  It has an off taste.

I'm all alone in the office.  It's really really quiet.  Well, I did see a mouse run by earlier.

We have sunshine too!  Of course it's only 39 degrees......BUT, I'm not hearing the wind chimes so obviously not as much wind as the last few days.

I rarely have dreams that I remember.  Last night I had a pregnant/in labor dream, but I was walking around like it was nothing, and the baby wasn't in any hurry to be born and then, unborn, he was in my arms and awake.  Totally flipping wierd.  Between that, waking too hot or too cold and the darned bladder, I feel like I've had zero sleep.

Sharon, my sister with MS is a runner.  She ran the Chicago Marathon 2 weeks before she got her diagnose.  She had a spot in the Boston Marathon, but wanted to run with her friends so did Chicago instead.  Running keeps her MS at bay, and she loves it, but for me?  Ain't gonna happen.  She's wierd...she actually LIKES to sweat...says it gets the toxins out of her system.....blech.  BUT, good for you for being willing to go for it!

Absolutely agree that there needs to be creamer, not milk in coffee.

I think I've forgotten a bunch even this early in the day.  Drat.  Have a good day everyone!

Sharon, you can do it! I've never been an endurance kind of person. I remember in high school we had to run a mile and I swear I thought I was going to die. lol.

I started the couch to 5k program in late February when I joined the Y. I only run once a week (plus strength training 2x/week), so it's taking me a bit longer. I'm on my last day of week 4 now. I'm really surprised at how well I'm doing! Geeked I'm actually thinking of increasing my running to 2x/week. I'm meeting with a trainer to re-work my program.

    The massage was awesome!

Got my tooth, broke a piece of it off right in the dentist's office - ugh. It was the way the thing got placed; when I bit down to see if it fit, one of the tiny brackets broke off. It's only temporary anyway, but sheesh!

Listened to a 30 minute co-worker rant already. Thank doG I brought a Ghiardelli chocolate square with me.

Oh what a treat!  Sitting at my desk in the diningroom I caught just a glimpse of what appeared to be a large, furry black and brown dog just strolling down the road without a person.  Naturally, I got up to check and it was the largest tom turkey I've ever seen!  And right in front of the house were another tom and a hen, just strolling along.  I often see turkeys in the yard, but never have seen them in that part of the yard or so close.  Soooo cool when they spread the feathers out!

    Yeah, I know, I'm wierd......

Bummer about the tooth Tina, but glad you had a good massage.  What kind did you get??  I usually go with the hot stone.

Guys are coming to power wash our house today.  I hope Jamison doesn't freak out.

When David and I were on our "trip" (before we were married -- I helped him plan this cross-country trip) -- we stopped at Dundee, Oregon -- *smile* they produce hazelnuts, and WINE!!  There were like 3 wineries and we toured one and bought some nice wine and "champagne" and then saved it and had it at our wedding.  It was an unexpected fun thing.  And yes -- there were samples LOL.

(David is originally from Dundee, Scotland -- so we visited all the US Dundee's that we could).

**passing Tina a handful of Dove 'Easter eggs' -- my self-control isn't wonderful today** Sometimes chocolate is all that is between us and insanity!

glad you had a good massage.  What kind did you get??

I had a one hour full body massage. She incorporated deep tissue massage, essential oils, hot stones, and hot towels. Most of my stress and knots are in my shoulders and neck, which she said she got about 70% worked out. I'm definitely going to do it again.

Karen, were those geese getting ready to nest? It sure sounds it! Good Boy, Bugsy!!

Tina, the massage sounds wonderful. When I taught public high school, I got one every two weeks just to stay sane (I clearly didn't meet that goal!). Haven't gone in a long time--I really should, though.

Your workouts are exhausting me. I am so not good at that stuff!

Off to prep for another workshop--I have to present 4 today! The first one is done and it went well.
