I am waiting for a friend and her 70lb 9 mo old baby Bugsy puppy from the same SPCA to arrive.

Can I just say whoa to a 70lb 9 month old dog?

Today's plans are ummm... not much really. I am working early today, from 1:30-3:30 instead of 4-6. This is good b/c I won't really hit traffic, but it sort of means I can't really do much of anything before work. I need to go to Lowe's, but there's not enough time to do what I want before work.

Today, the texting while driving ban goes into effect in PA. The fine is $50. For some reason, I don't feel like $50 is going to stop too many people. If you want people to stop, you have to hit them hard in the wallet. There are too many people who can lose $50 without any real pain. If you want to punish people, it's gotta be significant.

Hmph.  I am jealous.  I only grocery shop once a week, so I will have to wait until Saturday to get my fix.

I saw an interesting sign on a church readerboard several months ago regarding texting and driving.  It said: If you want to talk to God, pray. If you want to meet him in person, text while driving.

Going to be another gorgeous day here....at least part of it.  Temps 60+ and bright sunshine.  We have rain moving in later and wicked winds so I'm told.  Oh well, small price to pay for the warm temps.

OK, off to start my day.  Hope everyone has a good one.

Mr. W is going to a hockey game tonight.  So my dinner will be a few cocktails and a bag of Munchos while catching up on my taped TV shows that I never get around to watching.

Tina, just this morning the local news showed a bad crash caused by a woman texting while driving.  So stupid and so needless.  We have a no texting law while driving here but, for the most part, it seems to be ignored. 

I'm excited about going to a Sophia Yin seminar in May.  :)

Hockey.... I used to care a lot more about it. Not completely sure what happened. I am going to see the Hershey Bears in 13 days, and I will be in Hershey, gorging myself on chocolatey goodness. If anyone wants anything, please place your orders  by the 19th so that I have time to plan my shopping list. 

In other notes, I'm really wanting some clam chowder this morning. That's a breakfast, right?

We have a no texting law while driving here but, for the most part, it seems to be ignored. 

Not enforced either.  Nothing drives me more crazy than someone driving 30 mph on the Turnpike because they're texting.  I blast my horn for like 5 minutes just to aggravate them.

Back from the long walk and play with the boys. So funny. The other dog is a big guy but a very different mix than Bugsy - I would guess lab and hound as the two most prominent breeds for the oversized pup - he has a real puppy face still and to me he doesn't look too big hahahaha Its all relative you see  I got a couple of pics down by the lake but it was much too chaotic to trust having my phone out.

My beloved husband is irritating me today - I had best practice some t'ai chi  hmmmmm (sweeping gesture) "out"

Tagalon Girl scout cookies were delivered to my desk this morning. I can't decide if this is absolutely horrible or totally wonderful.

Abbie passed her level 1 sar test last night. woofreakinghoo.

I woke up with an eye infection or something. omg my eye is burning like a mofo, red and watery and just making me down right miserable. I have a doc appt this afternoon and it just can't get here soon enough. Everyone at work is holding crosses up and throwing garlic water on me. They're all afraid of pink eye. I might just go home and lay down and shut my eyes until it's time to go to the doc. Hopefully they can give me some numbing drops or something. I tried flushing it with water this morning and flushing it with eye drops that I had at home but both burned like hell.

 Eeeww... Julie, get your yucky eyes out of here! Seriously though, you work with a bunch of children. It's pretty unlikely they'd get pink eye from you. It's also so weird when you get pink eye as an adult, particularly if you have no children, and don't work around children. It's not fun though. I had it a few years ago when I worked in a day care.

I have to admit, I have read things while I was at a light, and I know I shouldn't. I have also had Siri read texts to me while I was driving, and I have had Siri send things for me too. I need to stop, but the potential, low likelihood loss of $50 isn't going to do it. Most of the time, and I don't even make a ton of money, I can afford to lose $50. I'd cut out eating out for a few weeks or something, no big deal.  $200 or something would be a bit more painful for me. If I recall correctly, the fine for texting while driving is similarly embarrassingly low in NJ. Interestingly, the text while driving ban in PA effectively overrides the cell phone usage ban that was in effect in Philadelphia. It was illegal to call on your phone also, and now it's not anymore. Good job PA!

I hope you don't have pink eye but don't stress too much if you do. I had something similar recently and they put me on antibiotic eye drops but I also had some pain reliever drops. Ask your dr. to prescribe those for you too. They're nice to have on hand anyway.

Kate - have a great time in Paris. I agree with Gina about it being dirty but it'll still be a fun trip.

I drank too much wine while chatting with my BFF last night and didn't sleep well. I could really use a nap
