Dogs don't usually yelp over a scratch.
Sighthounds, do. I have heard that a sighthound bitch whelping puppies...sounds like someone is being brutally murdered. They feel pain...A LOT...more so than other groups/breeds it would seem. Interesting too since their whelps are typically shaped for a quick easy birth and most shoot them out like a salad shooter!

Well, let's see....she was my idol.  She was in the olympics around 72-73 I would guess.  She came to Tulsa for a exhibition when I was in high school.  I actually was lucky enough to spend some time with her and her coach and my coach.  Long story but it was just the 4 of us and I was in awe of her abilities.   Since I am.......shshshsh dont telll anyone.....55 years old I would say she is prolly 57 or 58?

I worry too much myself. . . .It's a good thing I don't have kids or they'd probably have to wear helmets 24/7 Huh?

I am the exact same way, Cathy.  I'd probably never let my kids do anything fun for fear they'd get injured.

DH takes Ruby to a doggy playgroup at the shelter where we adopted her.  It's been great for helping her build confidence around lots of different dogs, not to mention 90 minutes of high energy activity that we simply cannot provide her in our house and tiny yard.  I've gone to watch, but I'm a wreck the whole time because she's running 100mph and dogs are tumbling all over each other.  I know someone is going to get seriously hurt one of these times; I don't want to witness it, and I pray it isn't Ruby!

I'm sorry that your kids are sick, Janice and Lisa.  That's not fun for anyone in the family!  When I was a kid, I was always sick with ear infections and tonsillitis.  I was nearly a teenager before I could take pills without choking.  I think a bottle of pink liquid penicillin was in our refrigerator thoughout the entire 1970's!

I've been getting my wish for no rain here for a few days now.  But that means it's far colder than usual.  I don't mind -- I like to wear my really heavy wool sweaters that aren't normally needed here.  It was in the 20's this AM.  I had to use treats to lure Ruby outside to potty; she does NOT like the cold.  The poor hummingbird was buzzing around a frozen feeder.  I hung a fresh one and brought the frozen one inside.  We'll be doing that swap until the temps go higher.

    You are so nice Tracy!!

We had 2 squirrels fighting over the bird feeder the other day. I thought they were playing until I watched closer. Eek - they did not want to share and one went scampering across the street eventually.

Last week I was pretty bored and this week I can't seem to get caught up :(

I'm not sure what the temp was this morning, but Max went out through his dggy door for about 5 min. and when he came back in he felt like he had spent the night in a walk-in freezer. Strangely enough, maybe because we've had a lot of sun in spite of the cold, there's a big red blossom on my trumpet vine. Big Smile

I just took a walk at a local natural area and brought home a stick for Bugsy - well he was thrilled and started to crunch it and OUCH! there were red ants in it - totally hoping they weren't fire ants Sad He seems fine - gave benadryl just in case BUT I had the stick in my pocket for well over 30 minutes. I am now imagining millions of ants crawling on my skin!

Our weather has been so up and down it is crazy, one week the buds all froze on the hibiscus and today I have flowers again, it is 72* currently. We are supposed to be back in the 20's Thursday morning

Cathy Rigby was at my niece's wedding a year ago. When my niece was younger she and Cathy Rigby's daughter took gymnastic classes together.  The woman looks amazing!  Honestly, I think she could pass for 30. Big Smile Then again, maybe I'm just at the age where everyone looks like 30 or younger to me.

Holy smokes - you lead an adventurous life. Geesh - just imagining that gave me the heebie jeebies!!

I can't remember the last time I was this busy at work. I didn't go to lunch and I still feel like I have a ton to do. It's a good thing I've let some of the phone calls go to VM too or I'd have ripped some heads off. And why do people call and leave a msg and then call back every 5 min's and hang up??? Annoying!!!!!

Thanks for asking, John. She's acting like her normal self.  Crazy and no sign of pain. lol I'm cautious though and will continue to rest her a few more days.  She really really thinks I'm the meanest thing in her world right now.   I'm glad you have work but sorry you'll have to work in the rain tomorrow.

I bought a pineapple Sunday and we deemed it ripe tonight.  Yum, yum it was dead ripe and I ate too much of it. lol

Well I ended up taking Willa in and she has an ear infection. *********hopefully********* we'll have a better night than last night. DH had a flat tire on his truck so he had to take the van to work. Luckily MIL was not working, so she came over and I took Willa to the doctor in MIL's car, which has car seats for the kids. Phew! Getting the stupid rx at Walgreen's took fooooooorever. Willa was a trooper though and got two new wooden puzzles for being so good. Smile

    Good thoughts for Gracie!
