Welcome back Deb hope you had a great time!

Jackie I had the same kind of night you did, we should have together for breakfast Wink

It was 28 degrees here this morning and the furr boys love it!  They didnt want to come back in after their morning walk-a-bout.

Congrats on the Car!!  Now about this weight thing.  I weighed 98 lbs and I am 5ft tall when I got pregnant with my first...also centuries ago like Glenda, lol....I weighed 152 when I went in labor and it was all out front :).  She also weighed, 5.4 and I didnt loose much of that before getting pregnant with my son.  I went into labor at 162lbs with him.  I never saw 98 lbs again but did get my weight down to a healthy level for many years that is until meno pause, lol.  I didnt breast feed the first (thanks to my fish poo husband that forbid me to) that's a whole other story.  I did breast feed my son and due to that ate healthier for his sake and lost the weight quite well within 6 months.  You eat....dont get lazy but dont starve yourself.  Also like Glenda I had a husband that constantly nagged about my weight gain.  In fact that is about all I remember his asking about when I went to the Dr.  He wouldnt let me get ice cream which was what I craved and so I would sneak out while he was at work and eat my German Chocolate double dip cone on the walk back to our apartment.  All the while convinced that I was walking it off Stick out tongue

28 degrees!  It's pouring rain here, although we might get snow tomorrow I hear.

I was 114-ish for the month or so before baby and 5'2" (well, if I stand up tall!).  DH thinks it's cute and adorable although he does comment on the higher grocery bills LOL.  I think it's more real for him now that I'm getting a belly.  I think we'll get an ultrasound in 2-4 weeks so we'll find out the gender Party!!!

Congrats on the car deal(s) Nicole!!

Welcome back Deb - we missed you!!

Jackie - I'm glad that you got such a good response regarding the sick employee and I'm especially glad that you said something.

Tina - glad no kitties escaped and no bad guys slipped in.

Another foggy morning here. I hope it lifts soon and we get some sunshine. I have a conference call in a few minutes and really need to wake up before it starts Sleep

It's a crummy rainy day here. I was going  to try to finish the lights on the house, but the stuff that needs to get finished involves either getting gutter clips or on the ladder. These lights have clips on them, which is very cool, and I was up on the ladder last night, but finishing them that way involves putting the ladder on the neighbor's yard. I think this means I need to go buy gutter clips.

In other notes, for about two hours earlier today, the last two fingers  on my right hand went numb. This hand has been screwed up for 5 years or so following a car accident, I had surgery on it, and had physical therapy earlier this year. It's gone numb like that before, but never for that long. Last time I was at the doctor, they had no clue what was going on with it. The nerve damage I have isn't consistent with problems in those two fingers (and the damage is consistent with sitting in your bed typing a lot- what a shocker). I can feel the fingers now, but they're still not quite right. I need to get some work done that involves a good deal of typing, but clearly I wasn't going to do it earlier when I couldn't feel some of my fingers. I was almost ready to call the doctor earlier,  except that I don't want to go and pay them to be told they still have no idea what's wrong with it.

This happens to me quite often.   Mostly chalk it up to my Fibro.  Not saying that you have fibro but I do notice it more often when I have used my hands alot.  For example, I have spent the last 3 days cleaning and caulking pretty constantly at least 8-10 hours each day. It has been a bit since I have had this numbing problem in my hands and arms.  Last night it was my arms and hands, had a hard time sleeping.  Right now typing I have that tingly sensation in all my fingers.   I also get this numb thing alot in the spring when I am gardening...pulling weeds, digging beds ect.   Since you were hanging lights yesterday, using your fingers with the clips, that could have cause the numbing.  I know it will happen but I just deal with it.  I am stuborn that way...I refuse to quit doing the things I do.   It is irritating tho and I am sorry that you are having to deal with it.

Any of you guys ever read "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good VERY Bad Day" to your kids when they were little?

That's my day in a nutshell -- by 10:30 I'd had my 3 things and it's STILL going on and on.  Oh well -- dump it all in ONE day and maybe Wed - Sunday will be good???

Tina -- I feel your pain -- particularly in the electric bill pocket ... ouch

*mutters* "I knew when I dropped my sweater in the sink when the water was running that it was going to be a terrrible, horrible, no good, VERY bad day ... then when I got downstairs and my brother got a secret decoder ring in HIS breakfast cereal and my sister got a Barbie toy in her breakfast cereal but all *I* got in my breakfast cereal was ... breakfast cereal -- I JUST KNEW it was gonna be a terriblel, horrible, no good, VERY bad day ..."

Duuhh... I didn't think of the lights as being the reason for the problem. I bet that might have had something to do with it. It really doesn't happen often, and has never been for hours like that. It's always just those two fingers though, and sometimes up my arm on that side. It was actually so good earlier this year I was able to knit (I had started learning before I got hurt, and had to stop after. Every other time I tried, I couldn't do it for more than about a minute before it hurt too much).  Usually, I would have just done whatever had to be done, but the specific task is something I will be paid by the hour to work on. I feel a bit bad working on stuff like that when I know it's  going to take me a significantly longer time than I usually do (even though in reality, my normal is much faster than what most people can do, or at least when I was doing data entry for taxes at my uncle's office, it was). But, I had the numb fingers going on, and I was just feeling sorta crappy ( I blame the weather) so I spent most of the time lounging in a half asleep state.

It usually makes me swear that I shouldn't ever take a vacation again.  That doesn't last too long but I do hate the feeling of always being *behind* and having to catch up with everything that happened.  There's always a meeting you are in soon after returning where everyone knows what's going on but you.  Bleh.  Sorry your day back isn't too great!

I agree!  In less than an hour, all your relaxed vibe goes out the window, and it was like you were never gone at all with stress and annoyance levels just where they were before your vacation!  Just take a couple minutes every so often today, Deb, and close your eyes and imagine yourself back in South Beach!

Tina, as others posted, thankfully your cats didn't get out and no unwelcome visitors came in (besides cold air, that is)!

Lies, I hope things work out as best as possible for your friend's dog.  We helped a neighbor who was struggling with the decision to re-home a dog a few years ago.  From our (objective) view, it was the best thing for the dog (and for them), but they couldn't see past the basic emotional thing of "But we want a dog!  We miss our dog who passed away a couple years ago!"  They had trouble seeing that they got their previous dog before they had children and their schedule was more predictable.  A large, active, young hound-mix didn't fit in with their current lifestyle of being gone 10+ hours per day and no time to focus on the dog when they were home with 3 very young kids.  Anyway, it's really nice you can help in your friend's situation.

It seems I'm always posting about how envious I am of the weather many of you have --- 60 degrees?  Sun?  That sounds heavenly right  now!  The fog is quite thick here this morning, and it's raw outside!

It is pretty heavenly at 66F and sunny.  Cool  Sorry, I just have a mean streak sometimes.

    wow you do don't you??

Our rain stopped and the sun came out but its cool and breezy - as Fall should be!

    On to mindless matters:

do you ever wish that your salad had less stuff and more lettuce?  Well I do regularly and I just had a lunch and the Cobb salad wasn't really a salad in my book.

I dislike a lot of "stuff" in most regards, so adding onions and peppers and olives and eggs and all that "weird" stuff just makes me not like it.  I tend to not like a lot of condiments though in general. But, in order for it to be good, it has to have "good" lettuce -- not the butt ends of the pieces or something

Thanks for rubbing it in, Jackie!  I was just about to put my coat back on because it's so chilly in my office today! Big Smile  It's probably rare for the weather to be better here than where you are, but maybe this summer when it's unbearably hot in Texas, I'll be able to post something about the zero humidity day I'm enjoying, while possibly needing a sweater in the cool evening air!  Wink

Boy, it's lunchtime, and all I have at my desk for snacking are some almonds and dried apple slices.  Can we say blech?  That's what I get for being too lazy to make a sandwich or something before I left home this morning!

LOL, yep, you won't see hear me bragging about our wonderful summer weather, that's for sure.  Although, I still prefer heat to cold even our broiling Texas summers.   Feel free to brag away next summer and I'll be totally jealous. :)  We'll get our yucky wintery weather in January and February but it's still pretty mild compared to most of the country.
