I have the only dog who...

Jazz does not sniff on walks and she gets highly annoyed when we go on walks since we are always stopping for Blue to sniff or pee. She pees before we go on a walk, but will not pee again while on a walk. She also can pin one her ears back and and then has the tip of her ear pointed up Blue doesn't leave the bedroom when I leave him at home. I can leave treats on the couch and they will be untouched until I get home and has been out will he eat the treats I left him. Only time he leaves the room if he has diarrhea to go to the kitchen or bathroom.

Just for you Paige...yesterday Bugsy was off leash and came upon an entire meal from Wendy's - he passed it all up fries, burger and shake to go sniff some tall grass.

Then this morning we stopped at a friend's and their dog hadn't eaten her breakfast so her bowl was full - he was all around it but didn't even once glance at it.

Dahlia will steal butter any chance she gets.  And then she somehow cuts her nose while hiding it...underneath my pillow (yeah thanks dog).

She also has a "thing" for the UPS truck.  Not EVERY truck mind you.  The Fed Ex or other similar sized vehicles can go by.  But if she sees a UPS truck she goes nuts whining and barking.  I have absolutely no explanation for this.

We might have the only large breed dog over 65lbs that not only allows but *enjoys* being carried around on his back like a baby!  He's too big and heavy for me but DH hoists him up and carries him around the house and Coke just hangs there like a limp ragdoll.

Not necessarily on his back, but we have always picked Marley up since he was a puppy, so he doesnt mind being picked up at all in the air. Not that he *enjoys* it like Coke, but he isnt scared while hes up there lol

... goes up the stairs backwards! We have a bi-level house - when you walk in you either go a half flight of stairs up or down. The main level is upstairs. When we come home, Rupert runs down the stairs to greet us (with a stuffy in his mouth of course.) He keeps his head towards us, then hops backwards up the stairs. Smile

WOW! That's quite a skill! Big Smile

I think I have the only dog... where I can leave my entire meal and drink alone unattended in a room and Gracie will not touch it.

Neither does she touch the 40lb bag of dog food she's left with every day

That's Sofia, too. I can leave a hot steak on a TV tray and go downstairs, and she won't touch it. Unfortunately Ole the Norwegian Elkhound has no such manners, he'll snork down anything that even resembles food, and plenty of things that don't.

I think Ole does have something fairly unique: I call it Ginsu Mouth. So far he has:

    1. Chewed up and swallowed a disposable razorblade with NO cuts in his mouth or elsewhere. Yes, he went to the vet and we got the pieces of razorblade out of him.

    2. He could smell the herring in the can of kippers I was donating to the food drive a few years ago. I went into the Post Office, got my mail and came back to a car that was now a FISHMOBILE and a smell that truly knocked me off my feet. Herring oil EVERYWHERE and in the dead of winter with no way to clean it out. (-20 is not conducive to using water-based cleaning products.)

     3. Later during breakup I left him in the car while i went into OfficeMax for maybe 15 minutes. It was too warm for my jacket (but not too warm for the dogs, this IS Alaska) so I left it balled up on the floorboards. He thought there were cookies in my coat pocket (and there were) but he bit the wrong pocket and put four perfect punctures in my Citronella spray (dog deterrent spray). When I got back I sat down and said, "What is that SMELL?" Ole was on the back seat all bug-eyed trying to look innocent. My jacket was dripping with citronella and the fish smell was GONE!  Most of the spray was in my jacket, he didn't get it in the face but I imagine the PSSSSSSSSSSSSSST scared the crap out of him! Nothing like having a self-training dog, eh?

I have the only dog that would prefer to sit on my lap/legs than anywhere else. Im not talking about being a lap puppy and sitting on me on the couch or furniture. I could be sitting on the floor and he will walk up and sit down on me or I could be sitting in a chair with my legs stretched out towards the ground and he will come and sit his fat butt on my legs with his front feet on the ground.

I know I have pictures somewhere I will have to try to drag out....

...doesn't like every kind of food imaginable.  Heidi is the most finicky eater.  I offer oranges, bananas, squash....all kinds of good things.  She sniffs at it and turns her head.  Bruder, on the other hand will gladly take what she doesn't want.

Yes! Tootsie did something so we can play now! :) Today, I had breakfast with my Grandma and when we left she gave me some cookies. Grandma without cookies is unheard of! Anyway, I had to get dog food and left Toots in the car with the cookies, which were on the passenger side floor. Come back and theres Tootsie on the floor snuggled up next to the cookies!

Next test. Had to go to Big Lots, so now theres cookies on the floor and dog food on the seat. Come back and shes on the seat with the dog food. Everything untouched.

    Good dog! Big Smile

    Bevo is a Starbucks fanatic.

Luna loves all coffee! You can't leave your coffee mug unattended or she'll drink the whole thing!

.... chews disposable razors yet has never cut herself. It's pretty crazy but I have caught Luna multiple times chewing the head of a razor... Needless to say those don't go in open garbage cans anymore!

....will eat anything and not get sick. Luna gets into all sorts of things but never gets an upset stomach. She's eaten a tube of bacitracin (sp?) ointment, all sorts of garbage, countless plastic toys,....

....can run at top speed in little circles on my bed. It is the funniest thing Gotti does. when he gets really excited, he will do 360's all over the bed, super fast. And he's about 50 lbs, so not a small guy. I will have to try and get a video of that.

These weren't my dogs but some cute "only dog who" These happened back when I ran a Boarding and Grooming Kennel. Just as someone had the dog who went backwards up the stairs, one of the dogs I groomed went backwards across the linoleum floor...cute little schnauzer. She was nervous of it and guess she figured she was safer not seeing where she was going but where she was coming from. Owner said she always did that on their entry way floor and kitchen. Fortunately the rest of their house was carpet.

Then I had another dog who would back her back legs up the chain link fence, in the outside run, to do her business with her butt up in the air.

And last but not least....this one dog would line himself, all up next to the side of the outside run, as if he were getting ready to pick his leg up to pee, and then he'd pick the inside leg up....one of the funniest things I ever saw when I was running the business.

Rupert did something similar once in his crate when he was a puppy. When I got home from work there was a perfect little pile of poo right outside his kennel on the carpet. He must have squatted with his little heiney right against the wire. lol!

My brother's dog Ruger is a fly hunter.....he is about 140# and it is terrifying to realize you are between him and a fly he is eyeing on the wall.  I mean, complete and total focus.  If they fly by he will try to catch them.  Another thing, his absolute favorite treat is ice cubes.  He is in love with the large treat machine in the kitchen, tho he isn't allowed in the kitchen.

My sister's dog is a lab/pyr mix and will not go out in the rain.  Will gladly run through a creek, jump in lake etc but water falling from the sky...no way.  It has been raining here off and on for the last 2 days, we had to kick her out and shut the door because we knew she couldn't possibly hold it any longer.

Dogs are nuts but they make my life so much better :)

LOL! I thought Marley was the only little Houdini who could shat on the outside of the kennel! To this day, if he is sick and throws up, it will be at the front of the kennel, buried under the blankets. That boy doesnt like sleeping in crud lol
