Where did the weekend go chat

????  it was here and then POOF, gone in a heartbeat.  Sigh.

That's all I've got.  The brain isn't firing on all cylinders this morning.

I'm excited to see our picture from Santa Pix.  Other than the normal "stranger fear" for one of my girls (which led to some initial barking in cramped quarters with four strangers) they all held fabulous stays, and I think we got a great shot! Better than last year, too, was that Shimmer jumped up and wanted to visit Santa, and sat beside him for the photo.  Good stuff!

Lots to do this week.  Busy client week and lots of stuff to get done around the house.

Weekend did fly by, although working Saturday made it feel that much less of a weekend.

getting ready to plan our holiday gathering for our dog training partners.  It's a party I look forward to, despite all the effort I went thru to set it up last year....

That reminds me, I think I need a tree.

Anyway, I'm wear-testing some shoes since Friday and they are digging into the back of my heel where that tendon comes up from your heel.  I think there's something wrong w/the design of my feet, because I often have this problem.  GGrr...  I want to stop wearing them b/c they hurt... but I can't.  I guess I ought to get some bandaids on them.  It's only a few more days of wear - it's a short wear-test.

Ouch, foot pain is terrible.  I have something called Haglund's deformity, which is sort of similar to a bone spur or something on the back of my heel that rubs on shoes.  Once it gets started, it's painful and takes a long time to go away.  It's helped by wearing appropriately supportive shoes with good heel support and good arch support.  Hopefully you can make it the next few days!

Paige, I will happily volunteer for the shoe testing!  I love shoes!

Why must my neighbor insist on blowing the leaves from his tree back into my yard, esp. after I've already raked the first batch down to the curb?

My shrink's office overcharged me for an office call twice, so I sent a certified letter stating if I don't have the money refunded w/in ten days, I will file a formal complaint.  The billing is all done by computer, so they should have all the current plan info, and even if they don't, getting a check from my insurance on top of what I paid ought to be a clue.  This is not the first problem I've had in the last 10 years.  I'd switch doctors, but there isn't another local psychiatrist in my network.  Ugh.

DS made other plans for turkey day, so a fellow animal shelter volunteer invited me to her family's huge gathering on Thursday.  I went with her last year at Easter, so I know how awesome it'll be.  No cooking, no dishes - I'm there.  LOL

Back to the salt mines this morning -- mega busy and the weekend was a blur but I knew it would be.  Am I ready for David, I, and 3 dogs to go away Wednesday evening?

    Nope.

    But I'm working on it!

Tina - you go, girlfriend! I hope they refund you quickly, now that you've shown you mean business.

Paige, you have to keep wearing the shoes even if they're not fitting you right? That sounds like a big bummer. Hope you find a way to make them more comfy.

I have a meeting this afternoon I'm nervous about. Last week my advisor was really unhappy with the work that I'd done, and I still don't quite understand why. Hopefully what I have to show today will be more acceptable, but I still don't know what I'm supposed to be doing, so... fingers crossed!

You are in a PhD program, correct?  It seems par for the course that all PIs are notoriously bad at giving direction.. or tell you to do one thing and then question you mercilessly about why you did it that way when clearly this is better?  I hear from our grad students all the time, not to mention my own experiences.  It doesn't make it any easier though, since they still think it's your problem.  Good luck with your meeting today!!

Hahaha, you hit the nail on the head right there! Thanks for the good wishes. My advisor is usually fantastic, which makes her extreme displeasure particularly unnerving. She must be having a bad week or something. Here's hoping I don't make it any worse ;)

currently I am attending a webinar - sigh - I would rather be sticking pins in my eyes LOL

Bugsy is having a sleepy Monday - after the parade, playdates, yardwork and staying up and watching the football with me last night he is exhausted

Turkey is in the frig -  let the defrosting begin

DH can't find his house keys, this is my problem???

Hmmm what will I eat for lunch?

It always is in our house Super Angry

Paige - I hope you can get rid of those painful shoes soon and hopefully the reward for wearing them isn't that you get to keep them.

Almost 1/2 of my commute this morning was in heavy road construction. I had a totally blonde moment and sat at a green light thinking the red turn light meant I couldn't go straight. In my defense, the detour had me sitting in the turn lane but still.....Embarrassed

Quite a few of my coworkers are off all of this week, so I think it's going to be super quiet. I'm also thrilled to only have to work 3 days - yay! It's also bright and sunny this morning and should be most of the week, so that'll be nice. I wish it wasn't quite so cold but as long as the sun is shining, I'll try not to complain.

Are you a size 7? lol  We generally only do wear tests in Sample Size which is 7, although these styles are also being wear-tested in size 9s.  Plus you have to be on-site so they can check the wear.  :) It's a brief wear-test, only a week, hence the need to get as much wear in as possible.  I've got bandaids on my heels, but they're not sticking well at all.

Cathy -I do get to keep the shoes... and once they're done w/the wear-test, I'll just slice the elasticized edging at the top that is drawing the thing around tight to the heel.  It should be fine after that, because they're fairly comfortable otherwise.  I like a good slip-on shoe w/good traction.  I'm ultimately looking for something to wear while dog-training, too. :)

I am!! I actually wear either or a 7 or 7 1/2, so I would be perfect for this job. Darn, too far of a commute though. At least you can give us good reviews of stuff though, right?

Safe travels Callie! If I remember correctly, you werent going far but traveling around the Holidays is brutal!

I should be getting packed tonight and have tomorrow to finish packing anything I forgot the first night for our vacation to Columbia, SC early....and I mean *early* Wed morning (pulling out of the driveway around 3-4am if all goes well), but instead I have to go to TMobile again and find out why my THIRD (yep...3rd warranty exchange) phone isnt charging. This is not the time to mess with me...I need my phone for vacation! Wish me luck tonight...I dont want to end up on the news for strangling the manager at TMobile. Smile
