Good luck baby squirrels/possums/whatever they may be.

I couldn't be more jealous at this moment. My favorite job was at a wildlife rehab center. The squirrels were the most fun. But the opossum, skunk, racoons, and bunnies were cute too.

They are too cute!  Im gonna feed then and go to bed... DH gets up at 5 so Ill get up with him, do it again... then sleep a little while longer until te place opens then bring them... its gonna be hard I will miss them!

Oh my gosh they are so cute. Poor little things. I know someone who found a baby squrel and raised it.  He got it it's shots .He now has it litter trained and says it's the best pet he's ever had in his life.

You are a wonderful person to do what you did.  I admire you for taking charge and acting quickly.  Those two little babies are very lucky they were in your yard.

Me, too, and I bet if you get them to the proper facility, they'll have a much better chance.  Good for you for acting so quickly.
 
Not for nuthin', and I know they're awfully busy, but shame on the FEMA guys for not checking the tree before taking it down, if they had the right equipment and could have done so.

I imagine the people cleaning up that mess have a monumental task.  There must be thousands and thousands of trees for them to deal with.  I am not sure how practical it is to expect them to check every single one of them for wildlife.

I can't believe I am saying this, but they are really cute!  It is adorable how they are curled up, laying together.

Im so sad!  I just left them at the vet whos got a doctor specializing in wildlife.  They are in affilitaion with the wildlife rehab center and they will pick them up at 3pm to go off to their new home.  I know its sounds stupid but Im gonna miss them a lot!  They were so cute and little and I did want to raise them... but I dont know enough to do that, sadly.  I guess Im also worried they wont take care of them like they say...  oh and they required a "donation" of $40.  I didnt mind but that will discourage people from bringing them in.  I knew ahead of time from the recording that tells you where to bring them.  I just wonder if that makes people decide not to.
 
I was in shock at the damage the FEMA people did to our yard.  They didnt care AT ALL about what they did... its completely torn up.  When they were picking up tiny little twigs that would have been REALLY easy to get with their hands they are using this huge tractor with claws and had to keep backing up and then going forward, adjust again and again, just to get a tiny pile of twigs!  Then when they grabbed it a huge hunk of the yard came up with it[:@]  Yeah, thanks guys.  One of them was covered in mud and layed down and stuck his head and arms in the pool to wash it off!!!!  WTF are you doing!?!?  There IS a hose.  I think the LAST thing on those peoples minds was wildlife.  I dont think anything was on their minds really... sure didnt seem like it.

Will they let you visit them at the sanctuary? It would be so cool to watch them grow.

I dont blame you for feeling sad about leaving them.  I would too.  But you did the right thing.   Is there anyway you can get updates on them?

As for the FEMA people, every once in a  while, and not very often at all, I wish I could train my dogs to attack.  Not to really hurt anyone, I could never do that but maybe make them pee their pants.  Crusher can look pretty evil when he gets mad.  I'm sure he could make someone wet themselves. hehe
