I bet Crayola has some tips on how to remove stain from carpet.  Or you could have her color the entire carpet orange. :)

DH just called, Riley decided to color our carpet with orange crayon...any suggestions?

If she did a large area, I'd call a carpet cleaning company. When DH painted the outer panel of our fireplace black and the overspray left a mark all over the carpet, I called Chem Dry and they sent a guy out the next day and he used some solvent cleaner and got it right out - whew!!

Speaking of stoopid husband stuff. I decided to drive the new car in to work today and couldn't find both of the remote key fobs that had been on the counter. I searched EVERYWHERE and worked myself in to a total panic thinking I might have accidently tossed it in the trash (which went bye-bye yesterday). I called and left DH a msg at work thinking he'll either know where it is and that'll be good or he won't and then he'll panic too and that'll be bad. He called me back a few min's ago to tell me he stuck it in a junk basket on top of the frig Super Angry

I slept like a baby again last night, so at least I've got that going for me. It's also another gorgeous day here. Totally rocked out on the way to work with the satellite radio and an oldies station Big SmileMusic. The car not only has sattelite radio but also something called Lexus Assist. I can push a button and someone comes on the line and you can say "hi, I'm heading to San Franciso. Can you send me directions to the airport?" and in a few seconds, you've got the map on the navigation screen. I think you can ask her just about anything. I should've called her this morning to ask her where my extra key fob was - ROFL!!

I was going to suggest an iron technique like what deb posted.  Just like any wax out of carpet, including candles, if you melt it and have something there it likes to stick to more, it comes up.

I just finished lunch and I'm hungry again Confused

Cathy, does that come with all new lexus vehicles?  we're in the market for an SUV.  Probably can't afford lexus or even toyota but sure would like to.

Both the satellite radio or the Lexus Assist are options that this just happened to have on it. We don't know how long the service has been paid for but I will probably renew the satellite radio. The Lexus Assist is $200 a year and I won't renew it. It did come with an SOS that is like Onstar, so if I get into an accident and the airbags deploy, it'll call 911 and give them my location. If the airbags don't deploy, you can push a button and they'll send help. Unless that's free, I won't keep it either. The sales guy tried to explain everything to me Sat. night and yet I could hardly figure out how to turn on the windshield wipers this morning Embarrassed. It is a sweet car and I'd highly suggest looking into either Lexus or Toyota's certified pre-owned cars.

Yeah, definitely worth a shot.  We're really interested in a Hyundai Santa Fe, too.  Toyota is tempting because of the hybrids but there really isn't anything in a hybrid we'd want, or could afford, or been around long enough for me to go pre-owned.

Its Sunny here but cold as a …. well its cold.

Snow expected for the rest of the week. I am so not a winter girl !

At least I got the fire started quickly this morning.

BTW love you new Avatar Karen.

Went to have my teeth cleaned yesterday.

Apparently I broke two teeth and didn't know it.

They have to be built up and crowned (can't do fillings ,not enough tooth) can't be done together. So I get to go see the dentist every other week till Christmas.

    First appointment tomorrow.

Its always the shots I hate / dread… a little pinch my ***.

I've always wanted a Lexus and never thought of this, It sounds like a good way to go if you really would like one.

It actualIy ended up being better for us to buy new I got a new Nissan last year and have always been pleased with my Nissans.

First brand new car ever, I swore I would never buy a new car.

Nah, Jackie -- "orange" is just SO mid-70's.  (Thinking back to that apartment I painted -- one wall orange, one wall eggshell and one wall dark brown -- to match the curtains I decided to hang). I *know* whoever moved in after me HATED me. LOL

Thanks ladies -- I needed the giggle. (Lisa, I know you aren't laughing -- but just  think about the guy who had to cover that dark brown paint -- it will make orange crayon a little less ... bad)

We had orange shag in an apartment when we were first married.  I'll never like orange again. lol

Gorgeous and sunny here, but pretty chilly - maybe mid to high 50s.  I slept really well last night until I was jarred awake about 1/2 hr. before the alarm went off by what sounded like a freight train coming through or someone right outside the window with a power tool.  Turned out to be my little battery powered toothbrush, which decided to magically turn itself on.  It irritated me so much I decided to go back  to bed anyway and just hit the snooze alarm a couple of times.  I guess I should go to the drugstore for a new one.

I really need do a bit of cleaning up, since it's hard to walk two feet without stepping on a squeaky toy. Indifferent

I had to go trade in my cable DVR box for a new one yesterday, but didn't realize that in hooking up the new one I'd lose all the series reminders I had set and all the things I taped to watch another time. Sad Bummer.

Our friends live in a house that was built in the 70's, and the kitchen hasn't been updated.  They have orange formica countertops.  Kind of tough to decorate around that and make it look hip or modern (especially when their cabinets and flooring are also 40 years old)!

Karen, I had to chuckle reading your story about Bugsy and his friend going by in the car.  I can just imagine the shenanigans in the vehicle once you were all piled in there.  Reminds me of when I was about 12, and I got in the backseat of my cousin's tiny Saab with her 2 huge St. Bernards.  I was smooshed between them, and they were doing their best to drown me in slobber.  My sister was in the front with my cousin, who was laughing so hard I thought she'd drive us off the road!

I went thru the same thing Joyce and almost cried when I realized I'd lost everything.

I didn't realize orange was the thing in the 70's.  Our house had orangy rust carpet in the family room. I kinda like rust, and still do, but the biggest problem was the kitchen (which you could see from the family room) had wallpaper with red teapots on it.  So the first thing I did was repaper because we couldn't afford to recarpet right then!  A neighbor told me that every single room used to have wallpaper...and it all clashed!  They must have been encouraged to take most of it off if they wanted to sell it...

It's hot here...but I really need to finish vacuuming.  Carpet cleaners are coming tomorrow.

Marty, I could like rust colored carpet but the shag carpet we had was bright orange gone dirty. :( We had no problem decorating, for Halloween. lol

I can't believe that we still can't get this insurance claim settled.  Our company truck was hit on September 2nd and we're still dickering with the insurance adjustor.  I got serious today and told them to assign a new adjustor.  They're going to have to kick in some extra for my pain and anguish. lol

Deb, I saw your post in Secret Santa about not making the mailing deadline because you'll be out of town.  I dare anyone to give you any grief over it. lol  After all, you do have the official idog 2x4 thanks to Heather.  I don't think anyone will ever top that gift. :)

Well it came out.  Crayola's website suggested this product called Amodex.  OMG it worked like a charm.  I called the company to find out where it is sold (Office Max) and it is an ink remover.  They claim it works on everything and any kind of stain.  Based on what it did in this case, it basically transferred the crayon stain to a towel.  I am going to try it on a shirt that has a grease stain to see if it works.  If it does, I am buying a case of this stuff!

ETA - I was going to do the paperbag iron thing, but then I realized I don't know where my iron is (referring back to conversation thread a couple of weeks back).
