    Friday chat

"They" said that the snow wasn't going to stick.  It stuck.  Not much more than a dusting, but it's pretty darned jarring to see snow on the ground this early.  It IS sort of pretty in a sick sort of way tho......

I lost track of the laundry I did yesterday.  It just never seemed to end.  I brought home a lot of clothing from MI.....the contents of 4 wardrobe boxes, and several drawers and boxes.  I still have another 4 or 5 loads to finish today, but I just got tired and finally quit yesterday around 7.  Was really surprised that after 3 years in storage not a hint of musty odor, and just as clean as when I packed things up.  Overall I was quite surprised at the general condition of stuff in storage.  Pleasantly so.  I had half expected collapsed boxes, but everything was perfect.  I had thot that with the humidity and heat and extreme cold in a non-climate controlled storage, I might have a bit of a mess....and I haven't set foot in the units in over two years.  Very pleasant surprise.  I do have a ton of those stay dry bags in both units, but, you are supposed to dry the contents out in the oven  and obviously that hasn't been done.  I found ONE box with signs of mice, but no damage, just a few little turds on top of the box.  That was at the very front of one of the units, and I did get into the box and found no sign that they had gotten in.  Guess they were just looking for a good toilet??  Or just passing through maybe.

Gotta say, digging through boxes and what not was a bit like Christmas.  I found a ton of stuff that I'd forgotten I had, and also some very dearly missed favs.  I'm anxious to get enough money saved to get a truck and bring everything home.

    Is that mindless enough???

Hoping that everyone has a wonderful Friday, and a great weekend!

They're calling for snow in NJ this weekend.  Blizzards, earthquakes, floods  . . . . I seriously need somewhere else to live.

I am so happy that Charlie made it home safe. My dear sweet hubby has had the flu this week so guess what I woke up with this morning, yeap the flu. At least I don't have to work and he had to work everyday while he was sick. I feel like my head/chest has a semi truck sitting on it. I am coughing and one side of my nose runs while the other is stopped up and I ache all over. It is raining and cold out side but luckily I went to the store yesterday and stocked up on groceries, dog food and treats so I don't have to go outside today. ; )

Deb, I vote for a tropical island with all the liquor we want and hot men to service all our needs.  When you find that place, call me.

I am so glad I got up early in case the roads were bad - apparently there was black ice everywhere.  My Subaru had no idea there was any, though.  Luckily I found an ice scraper in the bushes by the door, so I could scrape my car.  Ahh, winter.  Ick!

Got to work, overfilled my mug and spilled coffee everywhere.  Whoops!  But at least I wasn't late! I swear, I am more chipper than my comments portray.  I'm actually not having too bad of a day, and trying to be positive.

Glenda, I totally understand on the storage unit discoveries.  But now that snow's on the ground, if it doesn't clear up by next weekend, then that stuff will sit there for another 4 months.  (I'd also really like a house of my own to put it in.)

Anyone know how Vivian's niece is?  Hope everyone else is doing well.

    Welcome home Charlie!

If you guys can spare a thot or two....my nephew and his wife leave today for Africa to bring their new daughter home.  They can't adopt in the US because of Jon's heart condition, and this little girl lost her momma shortly after her birth, daddy can't raise her and work to support his other children, so Zoey will be coming to the USA.  It will be a difficult trip for all concerned, but they are meeting the dad (who has to travel for two weeks by canoe) and I think that's a nice way to start a new life together.  Jon has a special place in his heart for Africa.  He goes to Kenya a lot for his college.  So, good thots would be appreciated.....

Deb I nnneeeedddd one of those Cabana boys.  My hubby said I could have one, that was right after I climbed down off the roof for winter prep maintenance.  He said "We have got to win the lottery so I can get you a Pool boy."  I said I dont have a pool and he explained that a pool boy would be multi purpose boy.  MMMMkay let's win!

Glenda so happy to hear that you are finally getting things unpacked and that they are in such good shape.

OMG I am very thankful we are not dealing with snow and ice just yet, Brrr

good thoughts for those that need them

Congrats to Charlie and good luck to your family Glenda

I am so very tired I truly hate this feeling.

'Our' hawk is back and Bugsy is just as unhappy about it living in our proximity as he was last year, sigh.  It does fascinate me that he can smell it out from LONG range but I which he'd just accept its residence here

Good travel thoughts for Zoey and her families. And hugs for all who need them.
