    Chatting on Tuesday

Lots of wind here this morning.  We've got a cold front moving in and should have our first really cool morning tomorrow.  Mid to high 40's is predicted.  I've got an appointment with the laser eye specialist later this morning.  Not my idea of a fun way to spend four or five hours.  Oh well.

    Continued good vibes to Grimmy.

I hope your appointment goes smoothly, Jackie.

I suppose I should take back my comment about my bro forgetting DS's b'day.  A card w/money in it showed up yesterday.  My bro is still a douchebag, but every once in a while, he does something decent.

ETA: I passed your b'day wishes on to DS, said I hope he didn't think it was weird that people he doesn't know wished him a happy b'day.  He said "thanks".

Good luck at the eye doc Jackie.

Today is supposed to be nice and then tomorrow I get to leave in rain and drive all the way to MI in rain.  Yippee.

I've actually got a lot of stuff ready to go already.  Most of my clothes and toiletries are even packed.  This is a one bag trip since I want to have every available square inch for stuff I can squeeze in from storage. And there are a lot of things I want to bring back.  I'm really tired of eating meals sitting in a mesh lawn chair, so dining room table and chairs are an absolute must, and the lawnmower, and the list goes on and on and on.......

Must do a boiled dinner today for the spoiled boys, and the mashed taters to go with their meatloaf.  Must iron some clothes and clean the house......must clone myself so I have time to do everything and still get some sleep tonight......

    Continued good thots for Grimmy.

    Have a great day all!

Good luck with your appt Jackie.

Good thoughts for Grimmy but I have to go look up what's been going on.

Happy belated bday to Tina's DS.

    Yay for Riley starting school!

We've been out of town the last several days... I found out on Wed that my uncle had passed away unexpectedly, he was only 60. We went to Buffalo for that and SIL's wedding.... all in the same weekend.  I'm beat and still trying to catch up on things here and at home.

I saw Steph's comment about laundry the other day... and had a funny to share.  DH once was trying to be helpful and put away some laundry.  He grabbed a hamper and got the entire thing sorted and away.  Only to have me come home later and realize he put away an entire hamper of dirty clothes instead of clean ones!  Thankfully he put everything away in piles/groups so we located it all again to be washed, but it was funny.

Tina:  what kind of cake did you make?  Did you finally get to eat it??

Jackie:  hope everything goes well with the specialist.

Kate is coming home tomorrow for a long weekend and to take care of some business she needs to take care of.  We have lots of "girly" stuff planned.  Say a prayer for my wallet.

Today is National Chocolate Cupcake Day  . . . . so make the most of it !!

Jackie, good luck at your appointment.

I hope you have a safe road trip Gina. I hate driving in the rain, especially long distances.

Nicole, sorry to hear about your Uncle's passing. It is always so hard to lose somebody, but even harder to lose them unexpectedly IMO

Its going to pour here today, we have a tropical storm (?) coming through. I dont watch the news, just heard it from others. Meaning, my trip home will be 1 1/2 hours instead of 1 since people here think its snowing when its raining.

Was supposed to go to a meeting tonight with my friend about sales, but I doubt that will happen! Me+rain+night+not knowing where I'm going=not a good combination!

    Have a great day everyone!

Tina:  what kind of cake did you make?  Did you finally get to eat it??

I always use a box cake mix, Duncan Hines butter recipe golden, and then I make chocolate cream cheese frosting from scratch to ice it.  The frosting has to be put on warm and it comes out like fudge when it cools.

I have made cakes from scratch completely, but I've gotten lazy in my old age.  I do the frosting from scratch because I detest commercial frosting.

Yes, we cut into it last night, finally.  It won't survive the week.

That sounds good  . .  I hate icing that's too sweet.

The cream cheese icings are good, so long as someone doesn't get too carried away with the confectioners sugar.

WHY is going away for less than a week so bleeping much work????

Burrr its very chilly in NW Arkansas, look out Texas :)  Jackie hope you have a very good appt.

Yea for Riley. Happy Birthday to your DS Tina.  If he doesnt want anymore of that cake you can send it to me!

Good vibes for Grimmy, have to go catch up.

I took the day off yesterday to clean up the plant room.  Got most of my tender plants in last night.  We are supposed to have our first freeze tomorrow night.  It was 44 this morning but the wind was blowing like crazy.  Hot Shot was in heaven didnt want to come in from his walkabout this morning.  I have just a few more plants and have to get all the tomatoes off the vine when I get home tonight.

Dont know what I missed hope everyone is well and happy Big Smile

Quite breezy here and the temps are fabulous!  Windows open, hooligans outside playing catch me if you can, rolling around having a good ole time.  Its extremely dry here though...so good vibes for no grass fires.  Send vibes so that people don't throw their cigarette butts out the window.

    Good Grimmy thoughts.

    Hope all is well...

Just a little reminder for anyone who wants to be involved in Secret Santa, but hasn't signed up yet.....deadline is looming guys.  There is a thread in General Chat, and I think it's Secret Santa 2011

Speaking of cooler weather...where I am at in FL, by tomorrow or Thursday its supposed to be in the low 50's in the morning and mid 70's in the afternoon. YES, that is cooler for us. Us Flrodians love the days we can drive with the windows down.

Also...I am looking forward to those cool fall days when I move to Michigan (or should I say frigid?). My Uncle said that it was 44 yesterday during the day. BRR!

Tina - that cake sounds yummy!!

I saw on the news this morning that there was a huge dust storm that hit Lubbock. The pictures were amazing and scary.

I got home last night to find a dozen red roses and a couple of gifts from DH. He bought me a fancy, new laptop and a device called Netgear (I think that's what it's called). It's very cool even for a non-techy person like myself. It allows us to view anything on the computer on our HD flatscreen TV. So, if I was watching a youtube video, I could say "hey, check this out" hit a button and we could both watch it on the big screen. The device wasn't really pricey but our old laptop didn't have the ability to run the program but the new one does. I'm not usually wow'd by stuff like this but I was pretty excited and touched by his thoughtfulness. I made sure to show him my appreciation. Big Smile

In the middle of opening gifts and playing with the new toys, my childhood friend posted a really sweet msg on FB for me and I was instantly a puddle of tears. DH had gone to the bathroom and came out and said "did someone die?" A few minutes later, we noticed little spots of dog poop on the carpet and thought it was something Sassy had tracked in. We put her out and went about spot cleaning the carpets and were just finishing when I saw DH walking away and realized the dog poop was on the side of his foot. Other than that he was mortified, it was hysterically funny. What a night though. I'm ready for a nap already.

Nice Cathy!  Enjoy your new toys!  Oops on the poops.  Big Smile

Microsoft Outlook is hanging on me this morning.  For whatever reason...its slow as molasses retrieving data from the exchange server.  Driving me nuts, and making me completely unproductive.  Argh.  At least I know its not just me...seems to be citywide...at my company.
