Chatting on Tuesday

I got home last night to find a dozen red roses and a couple of gifts from DH. He bought me a fancy, new laptop and a device called Netgear (I think that's what it's called). It's very cool even for a non-techy person like myself. It allows us to view anything on the computer on our HD flatscreen TV. So, if I was watching a youtube video, I could say "hey, check this out" hit a button and we could both watch it on the big screen. The device wasn't really pricey but our old laptop didn't have the ability to run the program but the new one does. I'm not usually wow'd by stuff like this but I was pretty excited and touched by his thoughtfulness. I made sure to show him my appreciation. Big Smile

In the middle of opening gifts and playing with the new toys, my childhood friend posted a really sweet msg on FB for me and I was instantly a puddle of tears. DH had gone to the bathroom and came out and said "did someone die?" A few minutes later, we noticed little spots of dog poop on the carpet and thought it was something Sassy had tracked in. We put her out and went about spot cleaning the carpets and were just finishing when I saw DH walking away and realized the dog poop was on the side of his foot. Other than that he was mortified, it was hysterically funny. What a night though. I'm ready for a nap already.

    GREAT presents!!

The poop story tickled me Big Smile

Home sick today.  Nothing too awful, but really bad cold, cough, runny nose, etc.  Feel especially bad since Riley now has a runny nose.  She usually rebounds faster than me though so hopefully she will feel better in a couple of days.  She's still going to school though.

I am still trying to come up with a costume for her.  She hates wearing anything on her head and it has to be classroom friendly.  The Devil costume we had wasn't going to work considering she tried to stab Dh about 10 times with the pitch fork...not a good thing with the classmates I am sure.

Maybe an M & M...or a cowgirl. She could wear her hat off, of it's one of the kind with a tie under the chin? Kids always get sick first week at school...it's the novel germs. So it might not even have come from you lol! Give her some vitamic C tabs...those work great here.

My retinas checked out good. :)  Eyes are still pretty dilated so hope I don't make too many typos. lol

Cathy, that was so sweet of your DH.  Anniversary, right?  Happy Anniversary, I think. lol

Lisa, sorry you're home sick.  I doubt Riley caught something at school because not many viruses incubate that quickly.  Hope both of you are better soon.

I like the idea of a cowgirl (and mentioned it before), but DH is being a PITA.  I told him it was his responsibility to come up with something.

Yeah, I am pretty sure she got sick from me since I have been coughing, etc since Friday.  Much to her dismay she has a date with VICKS and her vaporizer tonight.  I hated that stuff as a kid too so I feel her pain but it does work.

    Another successful drop off today!!

My neighbor whose husband died last week asked me to help her deciper the funeral book with all the names of the people who came to see him.  Holy crappola, I am up to 200 already and not even half done.  Gotta love the all the Italian names.  DH couldn't believe there were that many Ianucci's living in our area!  LOL

lol Cathy! Sure, blame the dog. Oopsie poopsie.

For Halloween, Sonja is going to be Elmo, because that's what we have left over from Willa. lol  Willa picked out a Spiderman costume. Huh? She was introduced to Spiderman by a kid from school, Max, that I think she had a mini crush on. He's in kindergarten now so she doesn't get to see him anymore. But now she loves Spiderman. Ok then.

Janice, can't you just make Willa Spidergirl?  Spider Chick?

Jackie, glad your eyes checked out alright.

    • Gold Top Dog

Yes Jackie - 10 year anniversary and just to clarify, the poop was from Sassy. It dawned on me that the reference to DH going to the bathroom right before that...omg - lol!! He must've stepped in it when he'd taken her out for a potty break earlier.

I totally missed that Cathy...thanks for pointing it out tho lmbo!!

OK, Riley just said "The door is stuck."  This my dog friends is HUGE.  Usually it would have been - "door stuck" or just tug on door and say "stuck".  YEAH!

    • Gold Top Dog
WHEEE! I know JUST what you're feeling right now Lisa. ((hugs))

I'm having a serious ADHD attack atm and can't remember a thing I just read in this post except that Glenda is driving to MI - have a safe drive!

Oh and I'm waffling on the ss thing this year. Not sure I should spend the money. Some big trip plans are shaping up for next year and somehow I need to save up a few grand to pay for it all. SS is so fun though, I hate missing it. I'll make up my mind tonight.

Speaking of big trips, a friend last night asked if I would be interested in doing a cycling tour of the Tetons and Yellowstone next August. Ummm YEAH! Problem is, I need to lose mega weight and do some serious training for that! Cycling here in MI is a far cry from cycling in the rockies. I have been on a roll lately though and that would give me a good goal to work towards. The problem is something will need to give in my personal life if I am going to train for a trip like that. Not that that's a bad thing....Oh and the cycling trip is with a christian group. (laughs) That might be awkward given my beliefs. ;)

I hate to shop....I had to go to 4 different places at lunch today cause I am out of Ginger  Oil.  This is a bad bad thing and I never let myself run out especially since there is a cold front coming in....ugh....I had no luck and there is only one other local place that I can go but it will take my whole lunch hour tomorrow.  I guess I am going to just have to start getting it online.

Lisa one of my granddaughters is going as Strawberry shortcake which unbeknowst to me is popular again.  That would be very class friendly. Or Pippi Longstocking??? also very class friendly.  My other granddaughter is Tinkerbell....but there is the wing thing :)

Jan, I made that cake again for Ron....he loves it.  That is a recipe that will go in the favorites box :)
