    Thursday MC

    Good morning all!

I gotta say, having my inbox full of garbage posts of paintings for sale really kind of ticked me off.  I usually just report abuse but this morning I sort of blasted the dude for dumping crap all over our community.  Just hit me in the wrong morning mood.  Yes, I am a witch some days.

Wow, it's dreary here today.  Need to hold on mentally to the past few gloriously sunshiney days.  All in all, we've had one wierd weather year.  Keep hoping it will start to be "normal" again.  Think Mother Nature forgot what "normal" actually is tho.

The carpet lumps look a little smaller I think....or maybe it's wishful thinking!  regardless, I put the heat on to see if that will help.  I've been leaving the heat set at about 52 since we started getting colder weather, just so nothing freezes, but turned it up a bit before I left yesterday.  If the padding is still damp and that's what is lumping, maybe the warmth will help it dry out.  Fingers crossed.  For the lumps and that I don't pass out from the heat when I walk in!

OK, the brain seems unable to hold a coherent thot....MC alright.

    Have a good one all!

Well, looks like Riley will be starting school on Monday.  WOW - don't know if I am ready for that.  She's NEVER been with anyone except a family member.  Should be interested, huh.  I will ball like a baby.

Awarded a HUGE project to a supplier yesterday.  I am very excited and happy.  It was definitely a David vs. Golliath thing and David won by a long shot.  It was nice telling them and hearing their excitement.  Now the work starts LOL

We are trying to decide on vacation destination for next spring/summer.  This will probably be our last without Riley and we can't decide between Cancun and Vegas.  For Vegas we do a lot of sight seeing, hiking, etc. so its not just a gambling vaca.  Cancun is usually a park your butt in a chair and not move for 5 days vaca.  Both sound awesome and are about the same price (spending money included) so we are torn.  Any suggestions?

On Kate's first day of school, I was a mess.  I though somebody was going to call the cops and have me committed.

Send Twister some love.  He was shocked and disappointed this morning when I drove right past the office and went instead to the vet clinic. Surprise He's getting his teeth cleaned today.  When the kennel gal came out to the waiting room to get him she slipped a slip lead over his head and proceeded to drag him back to the kennel area.  I told her to please pick him up and carry him.  It's not like he's heavy at 14lbs and he doesn't bite, so why drag him?  Angry

Charles and I got our smart phones yesterday.  Oy vay, this will be a huge learning curve for me.  I did manage to send out a few text messages. Took me ten minutes to send a five word text. Sad Charles is deeply in love with his already.

Aww, Jackie, you must stop being so mean to Twister, pulling the old bait-n-switch like that.

Lisa, I'm so happy for Riley!  You will survive.  I know I was thrilled when my DS went off to school, but I'm not really normal anyway. I lived for those little breaks because he was such an intense child.

Oh poor Twister - I know they can't know every dog but it so upsets me when vet tech's assume they need brute force to move a dog - even after asking specifically about their practices at the new vet I tried the tech proceeded to put a choke hold on Bugsy so the vet could look at his eyes. I asked her to please not do that as it wasn't necessary, just hold him gently and speak to him. She was reluctant but the vet told her he was fine and to relax. How to make a dog that is happy to go to the vet unhappy to go to the vet in one easy step Angry

Hoping its a smooth procedure for him and he doesn't hold it against you!

So glad that you and Charles are enjoying your phones!! Our iPhones are to arrive tomorrow (supposedly). Although I am still grumpy about the small screen I think having the iOS5 on both my iPad and phone makes sense.  I'm hoping so anyway

After many, many glorious days of sunshine and crisp weather we have mired in gray, wet and sticky for the last 4.  OK sun come on back I miss you!

Late start today so best get a move on - I love having to delete a ton of spam upon logging on Tongue Tied

eta Yea for school for Riley.  Lisa I know it will be hard but it will be so good for her!!

My stepdaughter (lives in the UK) is getting married next year at a resort in Cancun - better than Manchester, England as vacations go but not sure what else there is to do other than sit in a chair and I am crap at that LOL

Poor Twister....thought you were goin to work with Mom..."NOT"    That is why I love our vet and his techs.  Never ever have they had to manhandle any of our pets, they absolutely loved  Shadow, his passing was almost as hard on them as it was on us.   Hot is such a passive boy when he is there, he just  almost falls asleep when he is getting his ck up.   My vet and his wife have a love for labs so Rocky is in with them for sure :)

Yea for Riley..such a big girl.. Lisa it will be ok this is what you have been working toward take lots of pictures :)

Yay for Riley starting school on Monday.  **hands Lisa a case of tissues**

Gin, I love this vet clinic normally.  The kennel gal who started to drag him is someone I've never seen before.  I'll be mentioning it to the vet when I talk to her later.

SO so happy Riley is getting to start school Monday!  It will be so great for her!  And I am a beach girl all the way, but Vegas sounds fun too!  I guess it really depends on whether you want to relax or get out and do stuff?

Jackie, you will quickly fall deeply in love with your smart phone too I am sure.  Hubs and I are ready to upgrade our iphones to the new one, but I am waiting a few weeks for the rush to settle and need to decide if we want the smaller or bigger ones for storage.

Just a few more days and I will be done with taxes for this year.  We have some of the most inconsiderate taxpayers this year.  I mean people, we are less than a week from the deadline, why is it so hard to get your stuff to us!!!!!  UGH!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Karen - regarding Cancun, there is actually alot to do besides lay like broccoli.  There is an island off the coast to explore and go zip lining.  There is a TON of scuba diving and tours (not just booze cruises either), deep sea fishing, shopping, Chitza Nitza, etc. we just decide not to.  I could use a week of NOTHING.  But we do get bored a little bit.  I am so torn.  I am leaning Vegas since I could see us taking Riley to Cancun in a few years.  The all-inclusive resort is very safe (heck we live near Detroit so everything's relative) and we don't do any of the stupid stuff - like go driving at night through bandit areas or walk on the beach at night.

Jackie - you can use the 2 x 4 for the kennel girl.  I am done with it - worked wonders on the school district yesterday.  Oh, and I am in love with my iphone so I can see why Charles is smitten Wink

Tina - I think DH is secretly thrilled to have a few hours to breathe but I don't think he would admit it.  He's with her all day so he deals with the difficulties the most during the week.  There are some days his eyes are so glazed over I don't even talk, I just bundle her up and take her out.  He does such a good job for a guy who had never even been around kids before now.  Plus we both know how great this will be for her.  I fear she won't want to come home at the end of the day.
