Yes, that was really some odd spam. Hmm

Lisa, that's cool about the project. My vacation vote is for a cruise. Smile

Yay Riley! Is she in 4K or Kindergarten?

When we put Willa in preschool, she was in the same situation - never been watched by anyone but her parents or grammas. The first few days were rough, but it improved every day and now she loves going. We just started Sonja, too, and it was a much easier transition. Probably because she's younger and she's with her sister. They only go two mornings a week.

Poor Twister. Good luck wif your teefies!

Work was actually slow today so I took the day off. I got to go grocery shopping all. by. myself. this morning! Surprise It was glorious. Well, except the paying part.

Now I have to clean the house for the re-appraisal tonight. Yay.

Jan - its actually preschool (4 year olds).  She is going to a special education preschool through the school district.  We learned this summer she is has a auditory processing delay so she qualifies.  She'll get speech therapy, occupational therapy, etc. at least 2x a week each so this program will help her tremendously.  My biggest concern is that she will have a complete and total freak out meltdown and get thrown out.

We have talked about a cruise, but they tend to be very crowded.  I HATE fighting for spot at the pool - drives me nuts.  Plus I heard they nickel and dime the crap out of you with fees, tips, extra this or that.  And lastly and most important, they are out of our budget range.  We priced a few out that we would like to go on and they were too expensive.  We are being pretty strict this year since we are taking Riley to Disney World in 2013 for two weeks.  That should cost a small fortune.

I've only been on one cruise and it was with a bunch of girlfriends but I didn't enjoy it. It was mega crowded and I felt like the activities were too limited. I have been convinced by friends and family that there are better experiences though, so we're considering an Alaskan cruise next year. If I were choosing between Cancun or Vegas, I'd probably go with Cancun because I love the beach but Mexico does make me a little nervous these days. Vegas is always fun.

Jackie - it took me quite awhile to warm up to my smart phone too and texting is still something I'm not great at. I don't have fat fingers but I sure have trouble hitting the right key. I absolutely love that I can get my emails on my phone now though.

I hope Twister's dental cleaning goes well. Picturing him being dragged back to the exam rooms made me sad and mad. Super Angry

The construction in the next office space is still going on, and it sounds like a super-loud dental drill.  I'm waiting for something to come through my wall any second.

So glad to hear that Riley can finally start school!  I'm sure it'll be an emotional day.  My best friend called me the night before her son (first child) started high school last month, and she was in a bit of a state.  I reminded her that she called me the day he started kindergarten to tell me she cried when she watched him "get on the bus with his little knapsack on his back."  I don't have children, but I'm sure the emotions are high at every milestone and completely understandable!

I've never been to Mexico or on a cruise, but friends who've done both have positive things to say.  I'd probably opt for Vegas.  I'm not a gambler, but the one time we went, I really enjoyed all the great restaurants we tried and the live shows we saw.

I'm still in the dark ages with phones (I don't have a cell phone at all), but DH has an iPhone.  I've tried to use it a couple times, and for the life of me, I cannot type on it.  And I have small hands.  Also, I feel like I'm blind trying to read that tiny screen.  But I'm sure I'd be addicted to checking my email if I did have one!

Twister's dental went good and I'll pick him up in a few hours.  The gal who called said I could call and see if he's ready to go home around 5:00pm.  I laughed and said he's probably ready to go home now, just too stoned to realize it. lol

Good thing we got insurance on these stupid smartphones.  I'm ready to throw mine out the window.  I've missed several calls because I'm not used to all this swyping.  I swype myself right onto a new screen every time I touch the thing.  Sheesh, I feel so old and out of sorts, thanks to this phone.  But I felt the same way about computers when they dragged me into that in '98 so I guess I'll finally get the hang of this. lol

I agree 100%. I have the Samsung Vibrant which is the very first "Galaxy" phone. I bought it last November when it first came out. That was my first mistake. I never buy things that are brand NEW due to the fact that they havent worked the bugs out (just like all the people that bought the IPhones when they first came out). I am on my third one. The other two were turned in under manufacture warranty (ear piece broke)...now come to find out, the insurance doesnt cover the ear piece breaking anymore. Go figure.
I am stopping on my way home after work to question them why my headphone plug isnt working on it. I am so frustrated with having to go back in to the store with problems that I would rather just say whatever and avoid the whole situation, but I need that to work while I am at the gym. I refuse to use my IPOD (and upload new songs constantly) at the gym when I have a smart phone that should do it. Other problems are GPS doesnt work (always needs updates and then glitches), FB is always glitching, etc. We'll see what they say tonight about this new problem.

I'm sticking with my not so smart phone.  It does what I need it to do.  And, I'm simply not techniclly (sp) astute.

omg - I remember doing the very same thing. It took what seemed like forever to figure out how to actually answer a call Embarrassed

I wish I would have stuck with the Blackberry family. I never once had an issue with that phone.

Lisa, that sounds like a really nice school. Has Riley been able to visit the school? I took Willa with me the day before she started to fill out some paperwork. She got to meet the kids and play a bit - while I was there. That night we talked about it and I hyped up how fun it was.

The next day I dropped her off, made the good-bye short and sweet, and left. She bawled right away and the teacher distracted her with toys. She cried off and on all day. The next day she cried again at the drop-off but only cried a couple of times during the day. After that there was a bit of wimpering here and there, and now she's fine.

I think most teachers, especially preschool and kindergarten, know what a hard transition it can be for little kids. I really don't think they'll kick her out. Smile

Yesterday would have made you eat those words. :)   Maybe they're up and running again today but big problems yesterday with all Blackberrys.  I know I called the phone stupid but it's actually me with the problem, not my phone. :)  It's way smarter than I am.

OMG!!  At some level I remembered since I took the lasagna out for DH's birthday dinner, but dang it!  I forgot!  Just sent him an ecard and will make it up to him later, but man, I should be flogged!

Happy Birthday to Mr. Glenda!  He won't know you forgot unless you tell him and the lasagna will help ease any hurt feelings he might develop. lol
