    Tuesday Chatting

I thought I'd start this early before I go to work.  It was so nice to have an extra day off.  Many fires all around Texas.  Good vibes going out to all affected.  The wind is supposed to die down today so that will help.  What we really need is rain but nothing in the forecast.  The entire state is a tinderbox. :(    I worry about the extremely dry pasture right behind our house.  There were fires popping up all around yesterday but nothing nearby.

It is pouring down rain here, rained all night too.  Wish I could send some to Tx. Would if I could for sure.

Anyone want a good used husband? lol I'm ready to give mine away soon.  While biking the other day he lost our cell phone, so he said YOU will have to call them.  and yes, I did, took about an hour to get that straightened out, then I had to order new ones too.

He has been been wanting a new tv, so I said if you move the one you have into my bedroom we will get a new one.  The one he has downstairs is very heavy....so yesterday he went down there and took the whole front cover off of it and broke it. Actually I think it was on purpose.  So now it is useless.  He then went out and bought himself a new 46 inch tv.  Oh well, if I want a new one I can buy another one I guess.  But must say I was not a happy camper.  Oh these DH's.

Jackie i just cant imagine going that long without rain. I hope something comes your way soon.

I am on track to be late for work today. The traffic will prob be nasty too.

I slept like a rock last night, it was great. My house is in the 60s. Perfect for sleeping. Time to pull put the sleece though since the outdoor temp is in the 50s

Naw, once you give them away, I find it is better not to try a new model.  Really, they are basically the same, just in different clothing.  Indifferent

Worked at the track all weekend and went $30 short on my till Saturday, so basically worked for free that day.

Tooth is no better, but I think it is abcessing.  Only one more week til the endodontist appt.

I am conflicted about a personal issue and it is not helping me sleep.

Jackie and other Texas members, I hope you all stay safe from the fires and will pray for rain for you.

Good morning all!  Wasn't it wonderful to have that extra day?  I still did chores mostly for all three days, but it was nice to spread them out and actually feel caught up for a change.

I got my freezer defrosted, all the dogs bathed, a ton of laundry done (thank goodness the washer was FINALLY delivered.....Irene delayed that by a full day) and the house squeaky clean.  Of course, we already have fur bunnies.......also put a huge amount of produce into the freezer.  This week was so insane that my 24 hour rule was getting badly mangled.  24 hours from the garden to the table or the freezer.  But, I'm caught up now.  At least until this afternoon when I go down to pick again!

Today my "baby" is 32 years old.  Feeling a tiny bit old today!

Jackie, I'm with Auburn.  I'd love to send some of our abundant rain your way.  Really, really soggy here and we aren't supposed to see the sun until Friday.

Have a good day everyone, stay safe!

Very sad today.  Today is the back to school day here in Michigan.  Watching all my friends send their little ones off to preschool.  Sigh - didn't realize it would hurt this much.  Still haven't heard from Riley's school yet.

Jackie I would love to send our storms your way although you could do without the electricity - praying some drenching rain hits TX soon.

Kate Bugsy's shoulder is fine - from our visit to the ortho back in June it is likely rotator cuff impingement so will be intermittent - the joint was perfectly clean so I just need to limit doing land retrieves.  if the silly dog would realize that he doesn't need to throw all 105lbs of himself into grabbing the toy which turns retrieves into a harder contact sport than football he'd be OK.  His enthusiasm is unlikely to wane though Stick out tongue

Took beastie swimming this morning which was the first time since the day before the lump was removed.  he was thrilled but has lost some of his water fitness - I'll need to be religious about getting him down there 1-2x a week before out beach trip.

Headache is slightly better today but with all the storm activity I figure it won't stay this way

Auburn I think most of long term married folk have had that feeling of frustration - it passes as I am sure you know LOL

eta lots of hugs Lisa - I can imagine how difficult it is but you are doing what is best for her long term keep that focus ((hugs))

Having that extra day was LOVELY!!

But I turned THIS into a "Monday" right quick!  I rolled out of bed just before David's alarm rang (typical for me and just going to the bathroom is no occasion for *me* to wake up *grin*).

EXCEPT.  My knee slid between the matress and sideboard (waterbed) and O ... M .... G -- MY KNEE WAS DAMP!!!

Yep - we've got a leak.  As if -- along with getting ready for a new dog I didnt have enough?  Now we get to drain the bed, and reinstall the whole new shot?  ugh.

It's time -- I suggested to David 6 months ago we might want to get a new mattress cos this was 10+ years old but ... nah.

As leaks go this isn't at all a big deal but it's inconvenient as heck.  And the up charge for quicker shipping was ... horrible.  But at least I didn't have to do "overnight".

*sigh*  And reports are due today so this is likely the last you'll see of me til late.  whoo hoooo! (did I lack enthusiasm there?)

It's raining here in Virginia as well. All I can say is I'm glad the month of August is over! It was the worst month I can remember. I lost my job, my son tore some ligaments in his knee, hurricane Irene gave us 3 days with no power, then our fridge and freezer suffered a power surge and stopped freezing. We did get the fridge fixed. Now to work on the freezer. They say it can only get better. I sure am hoping so! I haven't been home with a toddler all day, all week in let's say, never! I have the utmost respect for stay at home mothers and childcare providers. I'm about going stir crazy staying home! One thing that brightens my day, when my 3 yr old comes up and gives me a hug or kiss out of the blue. Also when my two dogs decide they want cuddle time and lay on my lap or nudge me for a good scratch or pat. Gotta love our kids!!!

I had to wear (GASP) regular pants today to work, as opposed to my usual capri's.  Damp and a bit chilly.  Weather, PLEASE, just go to TX...they need you!

Lisa, I'm feeling sad for you feeling sad.  I am impressed again and again at what a great mom you are.  We love Riley and know she picked just the right mom when she came here for her journey through life.

I feel a little sad watching all my friends sending their kids off to school, too, but it's because I don't have any kids or family of my own.  It's me and G.  She's too old for preschool, and I don't think they'd appreciate it very much if I dressed her up in new clothes, shoes, and a backpack and dropped her off at the middle school.

She's actually seeming a little off to me lately.  Her breath is not good, which is not a good sign.  I think it's time for another appointment with the vet for an eval of some sort....  Maybe teeth, maybe something else.  We have Nationals in a month so no surgeries, please....

To all our TX friends, we're thinking of you and hoping you remain safe and sound.

Thank you all for the good wishes :D  It certainly brightened my day coming on here and seeing all those from Friday :D

Everything went well.  I was so paranoid Thurs night that I was gonna forget something.  And of course, I did.  I was halfway to my grandfather's to pick him up and realized that the directions on how to get to the B&B where it was being held, were still laying on the printer (which was the 2nd time they'd been printed, I left them @ work too) Thank goodness for Google to get the address and then Google Maps on my phone.  So just that and a little bit of worry that the photographer wasn't going to show (she did, there will *eventually* be pictures) everything went smoothly.  The weather even stayed nice so we got to do it outside, which was awesome!  We stayed 2 nights at the B&B and I can now say I understand why people stay at those instead of hotels.  It was nice and we had gourmet homemade breakfast every day! (have I mentioned that I *really* like food?)

I only got a couple pictures before things started, I've shared on Facebook but I'll try to make a thread here later.

ETA: did I read Callie saying something about a new dog?

Lisa, I'm sorry today is hard for you.  I hope you can get some comfort knowing that you're doing the best you can for Riley.

Going to be rainy all week here it looks like, would definitely prefer to send this to TX.

Drenching, soggy vibes for all the Texas idoggers!

    ((hugs)) Lisa.

Auburn, how about you keep the DH and send me the new tv? Big Smile

I'm feeling kinda blah today. I have a lot of work to do and no creative energy. I still have some last minute cleaning up to do before 5:00 when Mr. Appraiser comes. High value home price vibes appreciated!

We had a freeze warning last night, but I don't know if it got below freezing. It was 36 when I woke up. The poor hummingbird was so fluffed up I almost thought it was a chickadee at the feeder! I wanted to put the poor little girl in my pocket to warm her up. Wink

Same here!!!  The local news here said this morning "Texas is on fire!"....so it's gotta be bad.  Sending rain vibes down that way.

I for one am also extremely glad August is over. I hate hate hate hate hate August!  I can't remember the last time there was a good one.

It's raining here AGAIN....ugh.  This is getting really old.  I'll be wearing sweaters at this rate next week!

Well, gotta get ready to take Tessy to the vet.  Hope everyone has a good day and the Texans remain safe!

    ETA:  CONGRATS STEPH!!!!

    • Gold Top Dog

    Congrats again Mrs. Steph!!

Lisa - I'm sad, along with you and Paige Sad (((Hugs)))

Tina - if your tooth is abscessing, it may not wait for the appt. They should be able to see you on an emergency basis sooner though. Sorry you're struggling with a personal problem and a bad tooth.

Thinking good thoughts for all those affected by bad weather and especially the fires in Texas and Southern Calif. It sure seems like it's been one thing after another for the country this last year.

We're supposed to be close to 100 today and the next few days. I'm going to Zip it! though cause we've had a really great summer so far.

DH in a 10hr a day class today and tomorrow. Watching him pack his lunch this morning cracked me up. You'd have thought he was going camping for a few days Wink.
