I just saw Auburn bragging about her age. I can only brag a little bit. Next year, 2012, will be my 30 year high school reunion. To translate for the young'ns here, people have been born, been to college, got married and are having children since I graduated high school May 25, 1982 from L.V. Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas (Go, Rams!).
That's what happens when you keep breathing in and out, every day. Another year passes by in the blink of an eye. Like the old saying goes, "If I had known that I would live this long, I would have taken better care of myself."
Roger Daltry sang "I hope I die before I get old ..." Now that he's in his 60's, I still think he can sing it and mean it. 60 is not old. I bet a person passing away at the age of 104 still thinks, "Dang, that didn't last long, did it?"
Normal day at work. Usual catastrophes to be handled by yours truly. It's like each new day is a new day in the construction biz, for EVERYONE. Sometimes, I want to say OMG. Then I would wear that phrase out. Still, it's nice to have a job where I have concerns to deal with. Beats the living daylights out of having no job and no paycheck. Hands down.
When you've been kicked around and shown just how expendable you are, it's natural to be thankful for still having the same job after 9 months. I had forgotten what that was like.
So, my ending note is that I am still thankful. And will remain so.
