    Just another manic Monday (mc) . . . . . . Deb W.

My MSN e-mail account was hacked over the weekend, so I apologize if you got annoying e-mails from me.  I'm working on getting it fixed, but if you get anything from me on my MSN account over the next few days, don't open it - just delete it.

The severe storms they were predicting all weekend never materialized - just some rain late last night.  Because everybody stayed home, I was able to spend some quality time on a very uncrowded beach over the weekend!!

Weekend was mediocre - DS got fired from his job. Maybe it's best, he was getting stress pains in his stomach and chest, but I sure wish he'd found something else beforehand.

Saturday we had torrential rain. We had a Thoroughbred horse break 2 legs during a race at the track - very sad. I did not see the accident, but some who did thought he was trying to jump a large puddle that had formed on the track when he broke his first leg. Unfortunately, there is so much momentum that it takes a few yards to slow the horse down and that is when the 2nd leg broke. The horse was euthanized. Luckily, the jockey was okay.

Sorry to read that Tessy isn't well. I hope she and others (Bugsy, Buffy, Buddy) are better.

I was a vewy bad girl last night.  I had a big bowl of Neopolitan ice cream about 9pm.  Ugh.  I really need to limit my sweet tooth to afternoon delights.  Eating sweets or anything for that matter late...does my body NO good at all.

For punishment, I walked 3/4 mile and did strength exercises.  Man, those leg lifts kick my butt.

    Merry Manic Monday.

PS...BudMan is doing OK this morning!  When I was running the Hooligans this morning....he was walking around the yard, sniffing away, making sure there was nothing new in the yard since last night.  Smile

Deb, glad you had the beach to yourself this weekend.  I do wish those great offers via your hacked email were legit. lol

Tina, bummer all the way around for your weekend.  I hope your DS can find something else soon.

Good to hear the Bud man was out sniffing out the yard this morning.

Good vibes to those pups not feeling well and to their humans too.

I had a really nice weekend and wish it could have lasted a day or two longer.  I drove through a huge water main break this morning and felt sort of happy just to see water on the road for any reason.  Sad, I know.

We're going to watch a dock diving event this weekend that's only a few minutes from our house.  Maybe I'll get Belle or Gabby involved at some point in the future. :)

OK, we got the storms.  And, I'm happy to say that after 13.5 hours we have finally had our power restored!  Yes!!  Two or three houses down a very large tree went down, and of course, right into the power lines.  There was one line on the road.  In a way, it was good that it was evening because we slept a good part of the powerlessness away, but, danged, it sure was hard to find the bathroom in the dark!!

A funnel cloud formed right over "our" mountain, came right across and seems to have followed the road and either touched down or caused damage in two spots without touching down, including the big tree.  Just as I broke down and started upstairs with a cooler for the fridge stuff, the power came back on.  YIPEEEEE!

Tina I'm sorry about your son and very sorry for the horse who had to be put down :(

I had a great weekend also and having today off, makes it even better. Again, it's really chilly this morning but is supposed to warm up to the 90s. It's also going to warm up more during the week but still no over 100 degree days.

When I was at Grace yesterday they had vet students there to do a bunch of castrations on the goats and sheep they'd rescued recently. I didn't have the stomach to go watch. It was sad enough as they were pulling them out of the small pasture and having to drag them over to the med center. They were yelling their heart's out as if they knew what was coming. Sad

     Yea Buddy

    Tina lots of hugs!

Jackie glad your weekend was very good

I sliced my left ring finger yesterday prepping dinner- DH keeps our knives VERY sharp so it is a clean cut and it doesn't hurt when you slice it you actually see it cutting but don't feel it.  Well until afterwards lol  Been throbbing all night and still is now. I did patch it up with two butterfly bandages under some heavy duty bandaids.  Of course I have a ton of typing to do this morning and as a touch typist I am finding it painful and clumbsy

My mom is watching the vizsla pup who at nearly 10 months old has no house manners so I am giving mom a crash course in adolescent hyper active dogs, sigh

I cleaned our bedroom last night so we moved in there - hoping to move into the bathroom later today except the shower doors of course

ok that is all the typing i can do for now ouch!

Ouch!  You did make me lol. "clumbsy"   I think that's what they call typing with your thumbs.  Sorry about the cut.  Those type always hurt worse after the fact.  Hope it heals quickly.

Cathy, I've helped castrate pigs and it's not much fun but it's over pretty quickly.  Piglets are very hard to hold still and I let a few get out of my grasp.  They were very hard to catch again.  Can't say I blame them. lol

Oh no, from the animal shelter?  That's too bad.  Wishing him good luck in finding something else.

I had a busy weekend.  Friday night I held my class on Obedience stewarding, then went to dinner w/friends.  Saturday I cleaned and did some weeding and then my friend won tickets to see Chicago and invited me, so I went.  They were AMAZING!!!  Such awesome musicians. Sunday I did some packing and organizing, errands at my storage unit, then went to my sister's camp late in the afternoon and got a chance to go kneeboarding before it got dark.  I'd never been and while I was strong enough to get up and be steady, I wasn't able to pull my arms back to my sides so I had to give up.  My sister talked my ear off while we waited for the boys to come back from a movie and so I didn't end up leaving until very late in the evening with an hour and a half drive home.  So I'm tired and my eyes show it.  Have a long day of work again, too.

Yep, the shelter.  Between the stress of the recent mass euthanasia and the other politics, it was too much for him and he blew up at his supervisor.  Someday he may learn the art of knowing when and how to say something that bothers him, but has not yet reached that point.

Julie, I did find a place in Lansing to stay.  It was for a co-worker, not me, and he made it back to his home after 3 days in town,   He didn't get lost, there were no critters or crime, so I guess I did good enough.  LOL

Tina, sorry about DS losing his job.  Guys his age don't seem to have any filter at all.  Whatever pops into their minds comes right out of their mouths.

I can't believe how chilly it was earlier this morning.  The car temp said 57 at almost 9:00.  Hard to believe it's supposed to get well into the 90's before the day is over. Now I need to force myself to go to Save Mart and Target. I'm sure once I get home with the stuff I need, I'll be glad I went. Tongue Tied
