Just another manic Monday (mc) . . . . . . Deb W.

Guys his age don't seem to have any filter at all.  Whatever pops into their minds comes right out of their mouths.

Having raised 3 boys myself I agree. There is nothing like debt to temper ones tongue!

DH and I have booked a flight to Spain for mid Sept. Now I have to figure out what to do with Buddy. The boys will be at home but I somehow doubt they will be out walking the dog everyday. I may have to hire someone for my own peace of mind.

Ooh, too bad I don't live closer - I would love to dog-sit for you Denise!

    Hi everybody!

I am looking for some Happy people Wink  Everyone here in my little corner of the world is either depressed, or mad, or sad, or blah.....

I have made myself the honorary "Happy" Person today....me thinks I need a sidekick :)

Hope everyone has a good day!

Yep, the shelter.  Between the stress of the recent mass euthanasia and the other politics, it was too much for him and he blew up at his supervisor.  Someday he may learn the art of knowing when and how to say something that bothers him, but has not yet reached that point.

Dang, Tina -- been there done it myself once.  It's a hard lesson but I know I've never forgotten MINE.  *sigh*  And so sorry about the horse -- he had to be in so much pain ...

I got quite a bit done this weekend (rah) but the only fun thing we did was go to see The Help at the movies.  It *was* really good.  Incredibly well acted on all sides. Ron Howard's daughter made an absolutely incredible "biatch" - she's an incredible actress as were the rest of them.  David and I both were sadly reminded that stuff like that really *did* happen in certain parts of the county in our lifetimes.  Amazing.

Hope everyone has a good & productive week -- particularly that all the dogs have good weeks - particularly our elderly ones and lately challenged ones.

ME ME ME!!!  I'm happier today than I was yesterday and I make a darn good sidekick (minus the kicks) so will that count???

Tina, sorry to hear DS got fired.  I'm pretty good at holding my tongue at work but I guess everyone's got a breaking point.

Barb, bad bad girl eating that evil ole icecream.  Neopolitan is one of my FAVS.  Now i want some.  I got some creamcicles so they'll have to do.  Give Buddy some belly rubs for me.  And a cookie!

Jackie, didn't you guys get rain yesterday or was that a dif part of the state?  I'll do a rain dance just for you!   :)

    Glenda....tornadoes???   yikes

Cathy....lots of hugs and scritches for Buffy!  AND castrations????   EWWW

Karen, owie on the cut finger.  I was gonna tease you but it's probably not wise to tease someone with a sharp knife (and clumbsy to boot)!  Stick out tongue

Julie....them dumb sinus's.....if they were a person I'd dropkick them for ya!  You got the idea...go back to the specialist and get it fixed.  Sending some breath easy vibes your way.

Paige, I'd love to get out waterskiing of kneeboarding!  SOOOOO much fun and I know what you mean about being hard on the arms.  I wiped out so bad once when I was younger it hurt for days.  Who knew it hurt to hit water like that.  Sounds like a fun weekend though.

Denise, I know what you mean.  I'd be paranoid and nervous as heck if I had to go anywhere overnight.  Let alone more than one night!  Peace of mind is a good thing.

Callie, never saw The Help.  It's been a long time since I went to a movie.  Avatar was the last one!

Anywho, I think I got everyone.  Tessy just got her first dosage of Lumustine about 20 minutes ago.  Now goes the stressfull, sleepless night worrying about side effects.  The other drug didn't come in but should be here tomorrow.  I GOT CALLED BACK TO WORK!!!!  EEEEEEEEE  Only bad thing about that is I just started a new protocol with Tessy and it woulda been nice to keep an eye on her for a day.  Well, suppose I NEED to make money in order to keep treatments going.

Cross your fingers this treatment works.

Man U and Totten is on.  There's my evening plan I guess.

Good thoughts to everyone...especially Bugsy, Buffy and Buddy....and any other furkids in need.

And so sorry about the horse -- he had to be in so much pain ...

It is very likely that the horse had so much adrenaline going through him that he didn't feel anything, and was humanely euthanized before it got to that point.  Aside from the momentum, that is another reason the horse will keep running - the adrenaline.

The track here is very small, and my teller window is close enough (like 50 feet away) that, had the horse been conscious, I have no doubt I'd have heard him screaming.  It would have just added to the already horrific scene.

I missed it earlier Tina, and I'm really sorry about your sons job.  And, having raised a couple boys myself, yep, whatever pops into their brains comes right out their mouths.  And the horse....how sad.

Yep, Johnny, tornados.  Ya gotta know something is up when the wind comes gusting in the east and west windows at the same time!  Really, tho, luckily the ONLY damage done was to the trees and the lack of power for an extended period of time.  And no one was injured.  Those poor folks lost another big tree earlier this month, and the trees both appeared to be healthy ones.

Nope. :(  Nothing anywhere around here although I did hear that someone saw a cloud yesterday.  I think way up in North Texas they got some showers.  You can start that rain dance whenever the mood strikes. lol

Today I am again a happy person. Ava had diarrhea.  She started early Sat. morning. Of course she did not make it outside either, so I was cleaning up all day Sat. and part of Sun.  I called the vet and they had closed for the day, left a message and they got back to me, told me what to give her and what to do and told me where to take her if it was an emergency at any time.  I already knew what to give her and what to do and had already started.  She slept all day Sunday and I was starting to get worried although she drank okay and ate her bits of chicken and rice okay.  Rah! this morning she was her old self, eating good, pooping okay still a bit soft but getting there, bless her little heart she almost gave me a heart attack!  She was spayed a week and a half ago and did so well, sure didn't need this, but she is right as rain again.  So today is a good day for me.  Hope it all turns out okay for everyone else who has problems. Smile  So glad the person above me is good to old people, that being me. lol

Awww, poor Ava.  And poor you doing the clean up!

I'm actually happy today.  The twister that went right over our house did NO damage to us, absolutely no one was injured, no property damaged, other than the tree and the power lines, and the power came back on after those poor guys worked out in the rain for 13 plus hours.

    • Gold Top Dog

'Nuther heart attack.  I got home late (late day) to find a police "caution" tape tied to the power lines above my driveway and dragging nearly to the ground.

WTH??  I called the police and somehow a branch fell that dragged down a hot power line so they were all over my property.

POOR LUNA -- recently she's been loose in our bedroom with the pug crated in the same room and she's been mostly fine.  But OMG ... she was obviously extremely distressed all day long.  She dragged anything loose (or that she could make COME loose) over in front of the door (weird set up -- we actually use a room that should have been a den as a bedroom so we have an exit door to the driveway out of our bedroom).  I'd swear she was trying to 'protect' Tink and herself and I'm sure there were cops and power people all over and banging on that door most of the day.  *sigh*

She's ok -- she destroyed nothing that I can see but blankets, bedding foam bed pads and anything not nailed down got drug around.  I called David and he had me put him on speaker so HE could reassure her that she's not in trubble.  She was terrified I think that we'd be upset.  Doesn't work that way here.  Poor little gal.  All that upheaval and stress.

    Awww, poor baby.
