omg Lisa!! That would have totally freaked me out too! I hope she didn't see herself in the mirror. Surprise

She did actually and thought it was funny at first.  I think she thought it was paint until she realized it was coming out of her nose.  She didn't freak though and was actually pretty cooperative in holding the tissue to her face.  Silly girl.  She has always had a dry nose and this has happened to DH during the day too so he was more used to the scene than me.  YIKES

Jan - I can totally understand where you are coming from with the biscuit.  I probably would have too.  It's not like the biggest deal in the world when we you are soo looking forward to something and it gets screwed up it's soooo disappointing.

We usually have one in the winter, but I might need to bring it up.  With us having the AC run almost 24/7 the past month to keep out the humidty it might have done a number on her.

In honor of National S'mores Day:

    S’mores Martini

    2 Ounces Chocolate Vodka

    2 Ounces Bailey’s Irish Cream

    2 Ounces Cream de Cacao

    2 Ounces Vanilla Vodka

    2 Ounces Heavy Cream

    Graham Crackers, Crushed

    Chocolate Syrup

12 toasted mini marshmallows or 4 large marshmallows

Dip the rim of 4 martini glasses in the chocolate syrup and then into the crushed graham crackers. Chill glasses in the freezer. Pour all the remaining ingredients except the marshmallows into a martini shaker filled with ice and shake until well blended. Skewer your marshmallows on a cocktail stick and place in the chilled glasses. Strain the drinks into the 4 glasses.

    omg - that drink!! Yum!!!!

Lisa - I'd have probably had a heart attack if I woke up to what you did. I'm so glad it wasn't anything worse than a bloody nose.

Jan - I felt so sad about your botched breakfast. I rarely treat myself to stuff like that but when I do, I really relish it. That stinks that you didn't get what you ordered!

I had insomnia last night but feel surprisingly perky today. My former boss cleaned out most of his office yesterday, so I can start reorganizing things in there and set it up for the new boss. Unfortunately, in the process of cleaning out his office, I ended up with a ton of stuff he thought looked important. Most will get tossed but I still have to go thru it.

I'm loading all my fun fonts on to my new computer. But I have to go through them one by one in the font management program to turn off all the ones I don't want. 1,576 in all...

10 Please!!  Oh, and a round for the house, I mean Forum!

Today is only draining more and more of my will to lift my head.  My back is killing me.  Guess I ought to take something for it, because now my teeth are hurting.  Alcohol or pain meds gladly accepted...

Ginger, basil is wonderful snipped into a salad.  I also use it on sliced fresh maters with mozzarella cheese, the basil and a tiny drizzle of evoo.  As far as saving it?  I snip it off the plants, rinse it off, stick it in a bag and put it in the freezer.  Tastes just like fresh when I use it.

Blast it, still have to do the lower trim in the bathroom.  Had to scounge for more pieces of baseboard and glue it on with liquid nails, since I'm sooo not into drilling into concrete blocks....so the lower edging will wait until tomorrow.  Sigh.

Glenda, I think that is the best combination on the planet for a salad or a sandwich - tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil and a drizzle of evoo. A local Italian restaurant has that on the menu for an appetizer but I usually get it for dinner in the summer if I'm there, and they mix the evoo with pesto for dipping. It's heaven.

I watched the 7 day forecast on the weather report last night - we're looking at 93, 92, 90, 90 90, 88 & 88 with nights dropping down to the high 50's. How's that for the middle of August??

They shouldn't.  It is easier to fix a problem and keep a customer happy when you are still there at the window.  You may be asked to pull up and wait in a parking spot for your correct items, and they should be glad to do it.  (I work in the restaurant industry).  If they are only concerned about their speed of service, then go elsewhere.

I must be behind the times, but what is evoo?

Extra virgin olive oil.  When I first heard this on a cooking show, I was completely confused about what they were talking about. lol  I cook with it all the time but call it olive oil, like the old fart that I am.

     Never thought of that...thanks!
