Lisa...that has happened to me although it has been many many years ago, I can sure feel for you. Whew!
I must have more info on the Italian salad, the only thing I have been able to keep alive in my garden is my tomatoes, basil, banana peppers, rosemary, oregano and parsley :) We love salad but I have not used basil in the salad. I have been looking for more ways to use my basil and also looking for a way to preserve it for soups later in the year.
Jackie I know what you mean about the flowers...I have managed to keep a few things alive, mostly the ones that are near the garden but I have concentrated on the garden with the watering. What the heat and lack of water has left the grass hoppers have destroyed :), it's always something. Just this week the weather has cooled down some and we have had 3 showers and now our grass is greening up again. I am afraid the trees are too far gone and it wont be near as pretty this year on Labor day weekend when the kids come home. They are in Oklahoma and are having the same kind of weather so they will not expect the usual but they love coming home and seeing all the beautiful flowers and trees. Oh well, there is always next year.
Got woke up this morning to 2 scaredy dogs and a noisy hubby. Heavy storms blew in around 4:00 a.m. Ron got one in the bed with him (Rocky) and one breathing in his face cause they wuz skeered. Then....he couldnt remember which pills they were supposed to get, lol, so then he couldnt get Hot to open his mouth and he couldnt get to him cause he was hidin behind my chair so at 4:10 a.m. I am up and taking charge.
Jackie and all our Texas friends, this storm seems to be going a little further south this time, praying that some of it comes your way. Round 2 is coming south from Kansas with lots of wind so maybe.....we can blow it your way.
Gotta get to work now, take care all.
