Mindless Thursday

Man, will this weekend ever get here! 

Although I have a HUGE request for a proposal that has to get out tomorrow am and I still haven't started it.  I get in those modes where if something isn't clicking it takes me forever, but if I get in a groove I can get it out in about 2 hours.  I am just waiting for the groove, but will have to press on if it doesn't come by 10:00 pm tonight.

On Saturday, I will be heading up to my girlfriends summer house on a a little island between the US and Canada.  I can't wait.  I feel bad leaving Riley and Todd home all day alone (especially since I am at work all week), but I justify with #1 - I NEVER do this #2 Not spending the night and should be home before bedtime #3 we are all leaving for up north on Wednesday in which he will spend 90% of his time golfing with his brother.

Bugsy, feel better big guy! Poor dude. And poor dude's owners, too. I hope he picks up soon. (Sorry I'm such a nag, but I'm one of those obnoxious people who just can't keep quiet if there's a chance my being annoying could help... of course, everyone knows B is in VERY capable (and loving) hands!)

Totally unrelated, but is anyone else in to Game of Thrones, the TV series or the books? I fell in love with the show and started reading the books - just finished the 4th one. Soooooo good. Martin is so good at creating interesting, complex characters. If anyone knows any series in a similar vein character-wise, I'd love some new book recommendations.

I heard on the news last night that there's some sort of tropical storm that might drop a lot of rain headed for TX, so I'll keep fingers and paws crossed that you guys get a lot of the wet stuff.

If I ever had any doubts about Max being an absolute failure as a watch dog, he proved it last night.  A friend asked if he could pop by later and jump in the pool, and when he came through the gate Max was sleeping on the rug in front of the slider, which was open.  I had to nudge him with my food and tell him someone was in the yard.  Then he got up and went through his doggy door to see who had come to play with him.  Not so much as one bark was heard. I may as well hang a "burglars welcome" sign outside.

LOL    He is a master when it comes to trying to get his way.  I am the master at resisting. lol Well, most of the time.  Now you guys are making me feel like a meanie so I might bust out a new toy and let him have it.  Little stinker has the crowd on his side.

 I decided to use some white silicone caulking stuff and got it all over my hands, this was bad because I needed to first wash them in Dawn, then when that didn't work I tried GoJo, each several times and then finally used acetone aka paint thinner.  This worked but my hands are a tad dry now.

note to self: next time wear gloves LOL

For all concerned the beast will be fine and is already making a comeback, I do appreciate your concerns fortunately he is neither a fragile soul or particularly bothered by physical inconveniences 

Paige I hope you and Gracie are celebrating

My friend's dog got bit by a copperhead, when they were in the ER there were 5 other dogs there for copperhead bites.  Apparently the heat has them out at the same time the dogs can finally go out

Bugsy, don't let any part of your body close to a copperhead. Seeing that snake skins are not your favorite, the risks are small but still, buddy, if it slithers around keep away from it. Glad your stomach  is settling some.

Karen, don't you think if you had let the silicone dry out a bit you could have simply peeled it off. The list of what you put on your hands does not sound too good.
