Fryday !!!

    Fryday !!!

    It's $day too  Big Smile

Yesterday we had a lovely break from the muggy heat.  That allowed me to mow the lawn without dying.....but it's back.

Today begins the major transition to a new software system at work.  Won't be able to access or do anything but ring up customers until Monday.

Jackie,  thanks for the advice on the AC fins a couple days ago.  I read it right away.  I think I will go looking for a fin comb.  I can sit and sip Vodka Melon drinks while I straighten them out Smile

Glad to hear that Bugsy is doing well.....hard to keep that boy down!

I'm having the worst cramps today. Neither my trusted Chinese herbs nor western meds are helping! Shoot me now.... At least the BF is coming back to town tonight! I need him here to feel sorry for me a little bit....

Mindy, glad the heat let up a little for you guys.  :)   If you can't find a fin comb, let me know and I'll get one and send it your way.

Bummer on the cramps, Janet. :(

Day two of an annoying pain in my abdomen.  Hopefully it's just gas. lol

Send some good vibes for a friend of mine's dad who is back in the hospital for surgery.  He had his gall bladder out about a month ago and was doing ok. A few days ago, he started vomiting and can't keep anything down.  CT shows a mass and they're thinking it's from the previous surgery.  He's a really wonderful man and his family is very worried.

Those dealing with the heat in the NE have my sympathy.

Jackie, good thoughts to your friend and his/her dad. As for your abdomen pain, sometimes I get sharp cramp-like pains when I'm stressed and my stomach is too acidy. Maybe a Tums or two would be worth a try?

Janet, sometimes caffeine helps me - have you tried some caffeinated tea or anything like that?

I think I succumbed to some degree of heat exhaustion on my way to the office this morning. Heat index of 93 degrees when I woke up, sweating, at 6 am. Headed out for my mile-uphill walk to the office at 7:30, heat index almost 100, and by the time I got to Starbucks (~10 minutes later??) I was dizzy, nauseous, and had a hard time finding the right words to place my order. Yikes!!! Think I'm gonna take it easy today...!

The heat index here yesterday was 112 degrees, regular temp being 97.  I daresay that is what you are seeing today, Cita.  Stay hydrated and be as lazy as you want!

Jackie, good vibes for your friend's dad.  And please don't go to long with your own pain.

Janet, I hope your cramps subside soon.

I could have used the 2x4 this morning (already) to whack my DS who did nothing but bitch the entire 7-minute ride to his workplace.  I told him he is such a joy when he gets like that - starts the morning off just right.  NOT.

It's a super hot one here today. Ugh! I should be in the garden, but that is not going to happen. Don't have much else from here. Hugs for all who need them.

    My brain is officially fried.

Janet and Jackie - Hope you guys feel better soon.

Cita - this heat is awful - I don't know if I'm going to survive this for two more days. I've already had/have a splitting headache for the last two days and today.

Tina - while you're at it could you give Kate a good head bashing too??  She was out gallivanting until 3 this morning and she knows I don't sleep until I know she's in for the night/morning.

I hope Karen, DH and Bugs got a good night of cooling sleep last night.

Yesterday's air temp was 103, heat index who knows LOL Supposed to be hotter today Surprise in fact the weather guy last night said it could be the hottest day ever recorded in Raleigh.  So much to look forward to

But we do have air and it is MUCH more comfortable, not jsut downstairs but upstairs too - I was surprised to realized how much humidity was still in the air even though the upstairs unit was working fine.  Much better today.

Yes Bugsy feels good - I guess - basically he just lives his life a certain way and everything else is just a nuisance.  He developed the runs yesterday and his intestines sounded awful all night but no emergencies over night but we did have to get up at 5.  Apparently to chase possums. Big Smile I mean doG bless this boy his zest for life is indomitable.  I, on the other hand am getting anxious as we could find out anytime after today, gulp.

We are off to the vet for 10:20 because the top of the wound looks a bit redder than it was. sigh

I was hoping to get some exercise in but nope not now and so many things to do

Here's a little video of Bugsy resting

Janet, Jackie, Cita -- take it easy and take care of yourselves!

I want to use the 2x4 on the nurse yesterday at the derm office -- she confirms my allergy to neosporin, we have a conversation about how it isn't limited to just that, but many creams and ointments.  The doc confirms when we discuss mole removal.  We discuss again when I ask if aquaphor or a&d ointment are OK, as those I don't react to.  The nurse puts what is supposed to be plain vaseline on the stitches and a bandage.  Doc confirms it's vaseline -- nope, it was neosporin.  Sigh.  Even though she tried to wipe it off, it's on an open wound so of course I reacted to it by the end of yesterday.  I went home and really cleaned it and it seems better today, but really?  And it was on my boob so I can't really be scratching it all day Huh?

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope the humidity is a little less, our ac vents were dripping onto the 5 day old ceiling last night from it being so incredibly humid :(  I hear it's heading towards the south-central and south west US this weekend though so be prepared.

LOL, poor lil' Bugs having to "rest"   that squeeky noise would drive my hubby nuts...mmmm now there's a thought :)  I am glad that your air is fixed now he can "rest" in comfort.

Jackies sending good vibes for you friend and the family.   Hope you get to feeling better.

Everyone please be careful out there especially those of you that are not used to the humidity.  It doesnt take long for the Heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

Happy Fry-day to all....  see you at the Tiki bar, looking forward to melon vodka!

Day two of an annoying pain in my abdomen.  Hopefully it's just gas. lol

I hope so too but gas pain doesn't usually last 2 days. Could it be an ulcer? Whatever it is, I hope you feel better soon. I'll be thinking good thoughts for your friend's dad too.

They were talking on the natl news this morning about the heat wave and said that more people die each year from heat-related problems than from all natural disasters combined. So those of you living in those areas really do need to be careful.

Janet - I've also heard about caffeine helping with cramps. Are you able to take ibuprofen? That was always my go-to drug for cramps.

We've warmed up a little too. I think we'll be in the mid-90s for the next several days. It's not miserable but I miss the mid-80s. I was going to go work out at Grace this weekend but I think I'm going to take a break. It'll be a bit too hot and I really feel like I need a weekend to do very little. DH is working both days and I can veg to my heart's content.

    • Gold Top Dog
Cathy, I did take ibuprofen but it didn't do all that much for me today. Don't have any coffein in the house either and it is late here now... I guess I will just have to wait it out...

Back from the vet - doesn't think its infected, thinks he got a staple caught on something (what Bugsy rolling around?) also discovered I no longer want to know what is happening.  Vet said let me check the computer and see if we know anything yet - thought I was going to pass out. About 5 very long minutes later he came back and said nope nothing yet.
