    monday monday monday

Here we go again. However, we are rollong into a holiday weekend so at least we have something to look forward to right? :) Im on the road today to the MI OH border. Not sure im up for the drive but work is work. Has to be done. I hope they get my emial and voivemail fixed while im gone today. We went way too early to the balloon fest yesterday. The balloons werent going up until 6 and we got there at 1. We were done looking around by 2:30. Bleh. There was a disc dog show at 4 that i kind of wanted to see but not bad enough to sit around for that long. So we left. Oh well. I did get a characture (sp) done of my nephew which fits him perfectly because he reminds me of a cartoon. He got a sword made out of a balloon too and was stabbing me and everyone that walked by with it. It was too funny. Hes 2 yrs old. I was falling on the ground acting like i died everytime he stabbed me which had him giggling like crazy. I think we were better entertainment than the jugglers were :) have a good monday all!

    Ugh.  That's all.  Just ugh!

Great weekend, weather-wise.  Got some stuff done, so that's okay, too.

Going to my guy's place for the long weekend.  Hard to believe it's been a year already.

Lisa, glad your mom's knee surgery went smoothly and I giggled that the doc was hot. Wink

    Paige, congrats on the car!

Cathy, I'm glad you enjoyed your time at Grace on Friday, minus the in-laws.

I wonder how hard it is, when a person takes the time to send a birthday present, for the recipient to at least have the courtesy to say "I got it."  Not even thanks, just let me know it arrived (I know it did thanks to delivery confirmation). Angry

Why is it that I can never sleep on Sunday nights??

Tina, I have a niece and nephew like that....I NEVER hear from them, yet if I don't continue to make the handmade Christmas ornaments for them, and for their kids, the sister would get all PO'd.  Even tho she is a total Biotch, she is still my sister and going downhill pretty quick with Parkinsons so I don't want to make our "relationship" any worse.  But, it's just danged rude to ignore a gift, especially year after year.  Maybe send a Christmas card once every five years or so??  A pic of the kids??

ooohhh looks like we've got some grumpy Monday folks!!  (handing out cups of coffee left & right)

Paige -- fwiw -- you *never* know with ANY car you buy how good a "deal" it's gonna be cos a car you get cheap that runs like a lemon just wasn't EVER a good deal, but a car that's going to be long-lived and low maintenance is worth every single cent you paid - so don't drive yur-sef cray-zee -- just enjoy it!

We went to Super 8 last night -- **GOOD** movie!!

Woke up at 4 this morning and it was torture to lay in bed till the alarm went off at 5:00.  I could have gotten up but that would entail all of the dogs bouncing around like fools and waking DH.  Nice wife that I am, I chose the torture but made sure DH knew of my sacrifice. lol

Sorry some are feeling grumbly.  I could easily tip that way but so far I've got my good attitude on as a force shield against the grumbles. lol

A friend of mine got a black lab puppy on Saturday.  This makes seven dogs for her.  She couldn't pass up the breeding (Lean Mac breeding) and the price was a steal.  She named her Jade.  We both had a laugh at that because Jade was the name of a dog (mom to my dog, Magic) whose nickname was coyote.

Tina, I know exactly how you feel about the gift acknowledgement.  I have a granddaughter that never says thank you, or even that she got my girft.  Just goes right thru me.  I have younger grandchildren that get on the phone and tell me thanks or will send me a picture that they color.  I dont send much, but I just want to hear that they appreciate the gesture.

Sorry there are grumpy's today.   I forgot to bring my vitimins so who knows how I am going to get thru the day.

Callie, My messages to you are not going out??? dont know why.

Hope everyone has a good day, hope we get some rain!

Our local paper has a feature called "Sound Off".  Anyone can call and rant, say thanks, etc. on an anonymous basis and then the items are published in the paper.  This was from Saturday in regards to a spay/neuter clinic the shelter is spearheading:

Please publish that article about neutering and spaying feral/stray cats. Use a smaller word that anybody can understand to get their stray barn cats fixed.

If I had to guess, the person was referencing the word "feral" in the second sentence.  Is it really that difficult to look it up in the dictionary or google it? Hmm

    hope we get some rain!

I hope you do too! You can have mine if you want. I'm so tired of all of the rain. It's wreaking havoc on, well, everything.

Having a bit of a lazy Monday, to be honest. Only have 2 classes to teach tonight, and a lesson plan to finalize for tomorrow night's class, so I'm spending the day with my own puppers. After the "baseball" incident last night, I didn't sleep very well, I'm kinda happy to have a lazy Monday anyhow.

Paige - Congrats on your new car! I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about the deal you got. It's kind of like checking the sale ads after Christmas to see how cheap you could've gotten everything you bought, if you'd waiting. You did your homework and now it's time to just enjoy your purchase.

Regarding getting a thank you for gifts, it's a huge pet peeve of mine. My dad was a stickler about it too and if you didn't at least acknowledge his gifts, he quit giving them. I'm close to that with my SD and the gifts we give her and her daughters. In this day and age, I don't think it's too hard to at least send an email saying "thanks". She didn't send DH a Father's Day card either though. Said she had the card but no stamps Sad.

DH is going to the funeral for the 7 y.o. son of a coworker who drowned a little over a week ago. I can't imagine how sad this will be for all of them Sad.

All of my off-site coworkers are flying or driving in for a big meeting here tomorrow. I only get to see them a few times a year, so it's always a lot of fun.

It's supposed to be 90ish here today but then drop in to the 70s tomorrow and rain for a few days. That's super strange weather for June here but this has been a strange year. Sadly, it's supposed to warm up and on Sunday hit 100 again. That makes me extra sad because I'd really like to go work at the rescue that day but I'm afraid that might be too freaking hot for me.

Sigh....I get one issue taken care of and three or four more crop up.  I really need to win the lottery.....just enough to pay off everyone I freaking owe.  While I'd absolutely LOVE to have tons of money I'd be thrilled to just have "enough".  And the migraine isn't helping my attitude this morning.....

Grumble.....maybe I should double up on the happy pills for a few days.....

I'm actually in a decent mood this morning despite my co-worker.  ;)

Yesterday in Oregon was 75 during the day, hazy but warm, dropped into the 40s/50s last night and it was quite chilly this morning getting up.

I am trying to give up on looking for a rental place because no one will accept 3 dogs and I happen to really like the park we live in, just wish the RV was a little bigger and I could find my shorts! I only have 3 pairs in the RV and only one has pockets. As the weather warms, having pockets in the shorts will come in handy when walking the dogs. Hmm

Looking forward to this weekend, I get to go riding! I haven't been on a horse in a few years and I'm soooo looking forward to it! And it will be a Tennessee Walker and I've never ridden one of those before. I've been on Rockies so I know gaited horses, just never been on a Tenny.  Can't wait! That is the highlight of these next few weeks until I head "home" to Indiana to visit family.

Hope everyone else's Monday gets better!
