Tuesday chat

DS and I caught the last 2 feral kittens last night and they are now at the shelter with their mom.  I'm really not sure the kittens are salvagable - they were pretty viscious.  Plus, about 4 million kittens have come in (it's that time of year), so there are many more adoptable ones.

Buddy was limping last night, not sure why.  I'll watch him for another day or so and if he's not better, he'll have to visit the vet. 

Cathy, from yesterday, sounds like you had a good weekend.  I was chuckling at the story of the horse manure being used for training "leave it."  Only in a dog world....

 So I'm getting ready to go to bed last night but can't find my phone.  No big deal, its probably in the car, FH's alarm will be good enough and I'll just get it in the morning.  Fast forward to this morning....no phone in the car.  Oh, must have left it at work.  Well, it was dying when I left yesterday, so I'm sure it died overnight.  Get to work, turn the corner to the main hall and I hear something that sounds like music....oh...craaaaaap!  That would be my alarm, blaring music for the past hour and a half.  I finally get to my cube and 6-7 guys are just standing around laughing.  First thing out of my mouth...."you couldn't have turned it off?!"  Apparently letting it go and laughing when I came in was funnier....   I'd like to go home now....

And I was right that it had been dying, what I forgot was that I had plugged it in...

 Ok, I feel a bit better now, a couple guys @ work just told me they had been "snoozing" the alarm and just let it go off the last time when I was due to be coming in so that I would *think* it was going off the whole time.  They totally had me fooled :)

Actually they went to a lot of "work" to play their joke so more power (*grin*) to them!  As 'senior' as I am I set alarms CONSTANTLY at work -- I have a little Presto 4-alarm timer cos the boss will say "remind me to _____" about 20 times  a day.  The only problem is I have to put a sticky up on my printer so I remember Alarm 1 was to have him call Joe Schmuckatella, 2 was to remind him to call his son, 3 was to pick up his daughter after school, etc.  ROTFL (er ... WHO is it who is getting senior?  me or my boss who is 5 years younger than I am??)

Tina -- I'm glad someone cares enough about the ferals to trap them.  Good thots & prayers that limp goes away!!

Now if I could just wake up -- phew, I was so deep this morning, that even after I got up, my head was still  in the dream and I kept trying to apply it to all I was going thru the motions of to get ready.  It was about word processing and changing signature pages ... so yes, Boss -- I was working ALL NIGHT!! LOL

There's a bakery here that I LOVE, except the people are super duper grumpy. I've tried really, really hard to make friends, and I go in at LEAST once a week, but so far no dice. Today, I finally got through to one of the grumpy ladies and made her giggle. Score!!! Maybe now they won't give me such a hard time about getting the student discount!! :-p

Going to Medieval Times tomorrow for a friend's birthday. No, we are not 10 years old. But I expect it will still be awesome :)

 You all already know this but Jackie is a genius   She has been so helpful to me with Bugsy I cannot tell you how much it has helped.

I might avoid the bathroom project today and play the lottery and try to win enough money to pay someone to just do it

BTW Bugsy seems to be doing better on our limited rimadyl regime.  I'm going to finish it up on Friday and see how we go from there

 You all already know this but Jackie is a genius  

While I can't vouch for Jackie being a dog genius, she is, nonetheless a genius in my book.  On her advice, I bought a charcoal chimney starter this past weekend and it worked like a champ.  I have to say I was impressed.

You guys can add me to the Jackie fan club :) 

Havent been able to catch up so I hope everyone is happy and well.   This project is going well but some days its hard to motivate. 

I dropped by Pics section and saw all the adorable pics so I now that I have had my "fix" I better get back to it!

It's supposed to 100 today and tomorrow - ugh! At least we don't have humidity but it's still pretty miserable.

I felt like I could've slept another hour or 2 this morning. When it's hot like this, our mornings are amazingly beautiful and coolish.

I'm going to stop at Big Lots today at lunch and see if I can find some good deals on canned cat food for the rescue. They also need cat litter but only the non-clumping kind and I'm having trouble finding that.

Gosh, I'm blushing, ladies. I couldn't be more flattered by your nice comments and I feel the same about you guys. :)  I don't know why Karen thinks I'm a genius.  I think she's the one who deserves all the credit for the great progress made with Bugsy. I was and remain happy to offer advice when asked and sometimes even when I'm not asked. lol    The chimney starter is genius and I wish I had invented it. 

We're super busy today but since it's been super hot, that's not surprising.

Courtney, isn't it frustrating to try and get people to be less grumpy?  Glad you made some progress.  My favorite Subway recently changed hands and has all new employees.  None of them even bother to pretend to be happy to see a customer.  The old group really were a nice, friendly bunch of people.  Its pretty obvious that the attitudes of both these different groups of people take their cues from the owners.  I've noticed their business has slowed down since the change.
