Moaning Monday

Julie - that is so awesome that you're now in a job that makes the rest of your life seem more pleasant. I hope that continues for you.

Paige - you have such a great attitude and I hope that you land in whichever place will benefit you the most.

Although the weekend was too short, it was such a great one that I actually wasn't unhappy to come to work. I know I keep saying it but this awesome weather really keeps my spirits up. I think I'm going to take Friday off and go work at Grace too, so the short week will be nice. I have a bunch of vacation time to use and we have no plans to get away, so I'm just going to enjoy some long weekends.

I busted my rear getting caught up last week in case I got called for jury duty, so it's pretty cool to have no piles of work staring at me. I should probably work on some things that I put off endlessly though, such as filing Ick!

Filing is just about my most-hated work task, too.  I do a lot of it at work, so my personal stuff at home suffers.

The forum is being wonky again and not letting me even get the home page at times.

It was an absolutely gorgeous weekend here, and a lazy one.  I didn't even go near the computer for two days which means I had lots of stuff to catch up on. I'm  trying to make myself go to Home Depot for some potting soil, but I keep putting it off. If I don't hurry up, pretty soon it will be fall again and I won't need to worry about potting soil.

I hate filing at work and at home.  I have gotten to wear the easiest thing for me to do, at home at least, is to keep a 12 month accordian file and just put everything in by the month it was paid.  That makes it easier to file because if I do it by vendor, it will never happen!  By month, I can take the whole stack and stuff it in there and get it out of my way.

I am officially full term today (37 weeks) and the nesting very officially started over the weekend.  I can barely walk today!  We did get D moved into her new room and bed and I am really happy about that even though the rest of the house is a shambles.  She is excited about it too which will hopefully make the transition of her baby brother into her old room that much easier.  We ended up having to buy a new washing machine this weekend and our dryer needed repairs so I got a new dryer too....I totally wasn't planning on spending that much money this weekend though!  I hate this impending deadline I am working against, but has a 3-4 week window.  I want to get so much done, and it is hard to make myself stop and take a break because I know once C is here, I will be tired, and my mother in law will make me feel guilty about doing anything so I will have to wait until she is gone....I don't want to wait that long!  Plus, my 15 year SD will be here this weekend so I need some of this stuff to be done before her arrival too!

Please post the link you use to get to the "home page".

Anyone else having this same problem going to the same page???

I see that Anthony Weiner is being treated for an unknown disorder at an unknown location.  Doesn't he realize you can't fix stupid??

Paige, I hope the changes don't turn out badly for you but your attitude about the change and possible ramifications is right on, IME.

The phone won't quit around here today and I've got lots of other stuff to do but can hardly get anything done with the phone so busy.  Beats the alternative though. lol

Filing is my most hated chore at work. I've been trying to do better but it's so boring I usually find something more interesting to do after five minutes. lol  I keep up at home pretty well, doing it once a week.  It's a good thing my DH isn't in charge of filing or we'd be drowning in a sea of junk mail and various other mailings, etc.   I always tell him that just because it has his name on it doesn't make it valuable in it's own right.  lol

Cita - I hope your day has improved!

Julie - That is fantastic about the new job making you so happy :) Everyone deserves to go to a job that makes them happy :)

I had a super busy weekend and it just flew by! We drove a total of about 9 hours this weekend. Our bird club had it's last Young Bird Show and BBQ and DH is now rid of all of his birds except for a few canaries which he can't sell for a few more weeks (they are too young to sex). It's actually kind of bittersweet. I didn't think I'd be sad to see the birds go, but I kind of am. In the next couple weeks we will get that room cleaned up and torn apart....we are undecided what to do with it....turn it into another bedroom (for a total of 4 in the house) or to just turn it back into a workshop like it was when we bought the house. Much of that decision depends on the time we have too. Making it a bedroom will require a lot more framing, etc.

Speaking of filing....I have to go through my files at home and seriously purge them. Oh joy.

Thanks Tina - I'm sending a note to the Admins - are you getting the Oops message, is it just hanging there not displaying anything, or is something else going on?  Has it happened before today - ie, over the weekend?  We sometimes see upgrades on Fri, so if you didn't have issues Sat or Sun, but have issues today, that helps to pinpoint it.  Thanks!

No, no "Oops" message.  Internet just sits there, my cursor just spins, then after about 30 seconds or so, it times out and remains on the MSN homepage (which is what I have set as home).

It happened Friday morning, then I saw the Admin note that power had been down.  I was on briefly Sunday, everything was okay.  This morning, around 8:00a EST, it wouldn't log on; that lasted about 45 minutes.  Then again around 1:00p EST, it did the same thing for about 10 or 15 minutes.

Paige - I was having trouble on Friday and also today. I haven't been getting the oops msg but more like it just hangs there looking for the page and then times out.

Car/cellphone question - can you charge your phone in your car if everything is turned off (engine & accessory)? DH seemed sure I should be able to but if I can, I can't figure out how.

Excellent!  (well, excellent feedback, anyway.) I'll let Admin know.  The complete network outage was when dog.com lost power so the server that runs this place was not up and running.  But if this was happening Fri and over the weekend, I think we know where to start looking.

Edit to add: message sent.  Might not get much traction since it's 10mins until 5pm Eastern Time where they are, but at least they're notified and can investigate as this persists.  Thanks for reporting!!

I have an accessory plug that is "hot" all the time and my phone can be charged even with the car off.  I can tell it's hot because when I plug my phone in it tells me it's charging.   I don't know what you meant that you can't figure out how to charge it.  Do you not use a cigarette type plug to plug your phone charger into?
