Moaning Monday

    Moaning Monday

Woke up this morning to a GIANT sink leak. Which apparently has been going on for quite a while, unnoticed. Soaked through 2 giant phone books, among other things. And smells naaaaaasty. So much for getting in to work early today! Grrrrrrr!

Rascal got into the bathroom trash last night (I guess the lid didn't full close) and now has trash-poops. Yay. I guess trash poops are okay, as long as he doesn't get blocked up. Stupid stinker.

Hope everyone else's day is starting off better!

My horse didn't win but came in second for the Belmont.  I didn't have him across the board so no $$$$ for me !!

Researching NJ steakhouses to take Pop to for Father's Day.

Dangit, Deb, you beat me! :) Hope you guys find a good steak place!

That was a pretty good race. Wish I'd had money on the long shot winner. :) Sorry Stay Thirsty couldn't quite make up that last bit of ground and win you some money, Deb.

Nothing much new going on around here.  Work, heat and more heat.  I finally put the baby pool out for the dogs.  GabbyG is ecstatic. lol   She made such a mess of herself yesterday getting wet and then rolling with Belle in the dirt.  Good thing she likes being hosed down with the water hose.

Courtney, maybe a mod will merge the threads.

I am sorry to read about your sink leaking and Rascal having trash poops. Hope those things are fixed ASAP.

Deb, I thought about you Saturday when Stay Thirsty placed.  I did not bet, but in my head, Ruler on Ice was my longshot pick.  I really am not a gambler.

I re-injured my leg, the left thigh muscle, so am trying to go easy on it. I finally get over the crud so I feel like exercising and then I hurt myself. Sad

I had a very vivid dream about working at the horse track again and running into the ex-bf.  I kept telling myself to stay away from him so that I didn't get sucked back in.  I awoke with very real and raw emotions.  Ugh, just ugh.

Karen, I am glad both Bugsy and Izzy are okay.

Yeah, and I found out later that Ruler on Ice is a NJ horse.  If I would have known that, I probably would have bet a little something on him !!

Courtney - you could capitalize on the situation and just say you "had a sinking feeling today would be difficult"

hey -- you might as well get a laugh while you cry!!  *hugs* (finding a nasty like that is NO fun)

    Back to work!

lol, Callie! Indeed, indeed. Thanks for the sympathy, guys! I'm feeling much better - landlord said he'd come out and look at it after work tonight. The man is a bit uptight at times, but he sure is responsible. I think someone was looking out for me when I found this apartment :)

Ummm, who abbreviated the weekend??  Someone must have.  Otherwise, where the heck did it go??

Will only be in the office briefly, then go home and play in the dirt....the never ending battle of the crab grass.

Gmorning ladies and gents! Its beautifically sunny today with perfect temps. Im road tripping today tomorrow and wed and this weather is supposed to hold out thru thurs so thats good news!

I trained a bit last night then we let all the dogs run. Lily rolled in something dead, of course. Thankfully the other 2 didnt. Theres a missing kayaker from last week that hasnt been found yet. We walked along a stretch of the river that he could have been swept to but didnt see anything and the dogs didnt show any interest other than swimming. I hope he is found soon to give the family closure. The thing is the river is high and fast but there is lots of tree fall throughout so theres no knowing where he could be.

Anyway, i had a total aha moment this weekend. I realized that all the tension ive been carrying around for the last 3 yrs is gone! Just like that. I was hanging out reading a book and the dogs were playing and i just looked up and went wow what a feeling. I didnt realize that i had been bracing myself to make it through each day for 3 years but i was! What a good feeling to have all that gone.

WOOOO hoooo!!!  Gotta thank the universe for that!!

My company I work for (through another company) just announced they've been sold.  Somewhat of a shocker, since this has been a family company for 35+ years.  It's publicly traded, but the family has always owned a majority share.  THis same company has been circling for a while, so it's not a complete shock, but.  It will change things.

Julie, that's awesome! Hope they find that kayaker.

Paige, do you know if that's good or bad news for you?

moaning Monday for sure!  After the race on Saturday and many hours of hard labor in the sun yesterday, ouchie!

    Julie that is awesome!

LOL at GabbyG, Belle and Lily which reminded me, Bugsy did some major rolling in the grass this morning.............TWICE!  I could count on one hand the times he's done that, Senor prissy pants hates to get dirty - in fact before the rolling I was laughing at him as he carefully stayed on his bed (on the porch) while extricating a treat from the everlasting fun ball.

I was busting my butt to get all that stuff planted and mulched yesterday before the rain came, unfortunately the storms missed us, well we did get about 10 drops

    things to do.................

I too stay away from gambling... although on occassion when we were in Atlantic City, or somewhere with nice casinos, we'd go in for a bit but look at it like it was entertainment funds rather than gambling :)  I have no luck whatsoever and even less skill but that's OK.

Hope your sink gets fixed ASAP Courtney, and Rascal gets over the trash poops soon too.

Julie, so nice to hear that you are so much less stressed.  Must be sooo nice!

I already lost the rest of what I was going to say.  Mindless, for sure.

We have a doggy staying with us for a while, and while she's quite a nice pup, she has this annoying habit of continuously humping Sammy.  3 days essentially non stop except when they sleep.  He doesn't like it, but he won't do anything other than run away, which makes her run after him.  He's barked a couple times (he rarely barks so it's clearly a growly bark warning) but it doesn't stop her.  I'm totally not used to the multi-dog dynamic.  Thankfully it's only until Thursday.

Paige, do you know if that's good or bad news for you?

Honestly, I'd rather be the bigger of the companies when it comes to purchases.  Operations will be streamlined, naturally, and thus layoffs as this comes to pass.  I'm working on a humongous project that is still moving forward as of today, but, as these things pan out, things may change.  As we saw today, they can change swiftly with little notice, so there's no way to know.  It's all speculation, which is a waste of time.  All I can do is work hard, contribute the best I can, learn a lot, and keep moving forward making a good impression and adding to my business skills portfolio.
