Hopefully it was just a one time thing for you but if not, you should probably keep some Prilosec on hand. Also, Gaviscon seems to work better on heartburn than anything else I've tried and was recommended by a dr. many yrs ago.

Good to know.  I actually was given some of these drugs a long time ago (back when I had health insurance) because my doctor was thinking my chest pains (which feel nothing like heartburn and rather are muscle-related)  could be acid reflux.  I thought about it last night but the meds are so out of date I think I should take them from my medicine drawer and throw them out.

We have two families of Canadian geese at our pond here at work.  It's so sweet to see them in the mornings, momm & daddy protecting each brood.  Fuzzy grey darlings that they are.

We have a severe thunderstorm going on, so I ought to sign off before I lose connection. ;0)

The storm is just arriving in RI, too. Sinbad had his monthly chiro and acupuncture appt. today. All went well. He's right where we want him weight-wise, too, and seems to be holding steady there (as long as we're careful with the treats). Now, if I could be where I should be weight-wise...

Another person from work and I are heading to Minneapolis next week for a few days--one day of work and three days of vacation. (Works for me.) We did decide to go to the King Tut exhibit at the Science Museum. I'm psyched about that.

Mindy, have a great time on your vacation! I'm glad your Mom has decided she can go with you. The iDog meet up sounds fun--enjoy!

Hugs for all who need them, and feel better soon vibes for those who are under the weather. (I have no short term memory today, so I can't remember what I've just read! Old age--CRS syndrome.)

The one from Corsicana could be really good -- Claxton is ok, but you gotta be a fruitcake *lover* to like that one.  American's are downright weird about our national horror over fruitcake.  It can be darned good stuff (with the right rum or wine involved).

My dad was from Claxton and when I was a kid either cousins or aunts used to send us a big fruitcake every Christmas.  Everyone else was sort of *ho hum - another fruitcake* but one of my sisters and I used to just wait for that cake to come. Your Christmas cake sounds amazing.  You wouldn't  want to post the recipe, would you? The wine is  called "choco vine" and it's a product of Holland.  The only place I've been able to find it so far is Cost Plus World Market. Imagine someone dumping a bottle of red wine into a quart of chocolate milk - that's pretty much what it's like Smile and it tastes much, much better than that sounds. Really.
