Thursday Chatter

    Thursday Chatter

We have had the strangest weather this week.  Tuesday we got up to 103.  Tuesday night was a low of 70, Yesterday was a high of 75 and right now it's 52 with a forcasted high of 62.

I have today off and a to-do list a mile long.  I have only 1.5 more days off before we leave for Yellowstone.  Feels like I won't be ready.

Otherwise, all is well.  Paige, did you get the acid reflux settled down ?  I usually drink water and eat bread.  Sitting up for a while helps too.  I hope Johhny did get a job !  Grandma is still mentally clear.  She is healing well, but the plan is to stay at the nursing home for another 2-3 weeks.  I know she doesn't really want to, but she's just gonna have to buck up.  Mom was on the verge of not coming on the trip (out of guilt) but she has decided that that she is going no matter what!

    Off to tackle the day

Mindy, I am glad your grandma is doing alright and that your mom is going to go to Yellowstone with you.

Paige, hopefully the acid reflux has settled.

Karen, I'm sorry it wasn't better news for Bugsy at the vet's yesterday.

DS is still coughing and hacking.  Two weeks ago the doctor told him he has hayfever, but now I think it has morphed into the same crud I have.  He was pretty pissy this morning, as if it's all my fault.  Geez, you can't breathe, can't stop coughing, but go have another cigarette.

I was up way too early this morning, today is the final walk-through of the house then tomorrow is closing! I am so excited and already started to load my car with "stuff for the new place" lol. I keep on flipping through the pictures of the listing and imagining myself living in it already. I still have another couple months left on rent for my apartment so it will be a nice smooth slow move but if I have it my way I'll be moved in and living there within a week hopefully.

Also on Saturday I'm driving to Ohio to take Jasmine, a very awesome little black GSD to Melinda. So excited about meeting her and Blue and giving this sweetie a wonderful new home. I don't think I have sleep in my schedule for the next few days.

Yippeee for new houses, healing grannys and an idog meet!  Opps, and Yellowstone!

Sorry about the not so great news on B, and sorry to hear that the DS is being a pain about his pain......

We had quite the storm last night.  It was due to hit around 6:30, but split and went North and South of us, and all we got was a bit of thunder and rain.  However, at 7:30, we got slammed.  Heavy winds, torrential rain, thunder, lightning, hail.  Was still storming at almost 9:30.  It finally stopped, but came back again after I fell asleep, and it takes an act of Congress to wake me up normally so don't know when.  Supposed to get another hot, sticky, stormy day today and then back to more normal weather.  Hot and sticky doesn't do it for me.

I'm doing a return later today, and another on Saturday and some collection stuff in between.  I can see returns for folks with extensions, and that's what our main office is busy with, or amended returns, but its wierd to me to be doing returns for regular situations this late in the year.  Not complaining tho......keeps me busy and out of the sun!

    Have a great day everyone.

Free Flat Coat to good home, all accessories included! (note - I'm joking just in case anyone takes me seriously!). All kidding aside, I was strongly considering puppicide last night. Ari woke me up at 12am by pouncing on my stomach, 3am by laying on my head and then at 5:30am because thunder startled her (which is odd, usually she never bats an eye!). I think she just misses my significant other who went out of town. Or maybe it was "annoy the human night" and I didn't get that memo. Either way, I'm tired and I have too much on my plate to be tired! I should also note, she's sound asleep right now the brat!

Yesterday at work, I sat down with one of my managers to discuss handing off my clients and it turned into an impromptu exit interview. It actually went surprisingly well and ended with he'd hire me back in an instant and he would personally be happy to give a reference for me for any other job. Didn't change my mind about leaving, but maybe it'll help change some things for the better within the department for those still there and those to come aboard. I think it has finally hit home that things are not right and that the turnover is too high.

Now, off to pour another cup of coffee and dive into this to do list. I want to try to hand off my clients with all loose ends firmly tied up.

I made my own song of the day, thanks to Google.  How cool is that?   You can record your own guitar picking today.  :)

Mindy, glad to hear your mom is going and that your grandma is still doing better.  Your weather this week is ridiculous.

Xebby, I can imagine how excited you are about the new house.  I'm so happy for you.  Cool that you get to meet Melinda and Blue. :)

I've forgotten whatever else I was going to say.  Oh yeah, Paige, hope your acid reflux calmed down.

Slept like a rock and feel super rested today.  Off to see what mischief I can get into today.  lol

Hot, Hot, Hot!  Well, that song will get you moving!  Fun.

Glad to hear the good news about your Grandma, Mindy.  And, how exciting is that about the house Xebby!

Took all the dogs on a walk this morning, separately.  I haven't done that in months and months, because of all of the loose dogs on my road. But, it all turned out fine.  I did see a bunch of loose dogs, though.  Bleh.

First, took Buddy for a brief walk.  I wanted to see how his old legs would do.  He was ecstatic to be going...walking high and proud, looking at me every few seconds, like:  Wow, Mom, thanks....dis fun!  I didn't want to over do it...so we just went one house each way, then back in.  I could tell he was tiring on the last part.

Bruder next....and when we were out, first thing, the next door Pittie was outside his fence.  I wasn't too worried about Boomer because he and my dogs play nicely through the fence.  He really is a good dog.  But, he was standing on his drive all tensed up with his tail in the air.  Then, he started to jaunt toward us...I told Bruder "not for you" and told Boomer No.  They both mind well.  So, we just keep going, with no issue.  I really need to tell my neighbor that they have done a very good job with their Pittie.

No issues with Heidi either...I had her most valued ball with me just in case we came across something.  She is very good about focusing on me when I tell her to.  Helps to have that valued ball and I used it when we passed by two cats (she didn't see them).  So, all is well and everybody is sufficiently tired right now.

Now, I need to go eat something so I can take the dreaded antibiotic.

Paige, I hope you are feeling better...acid reflux can be difficult to deal with.  You should see your doctor.  It could develop into something worse.  Please.

Sending out good thoughts for everyone!

I'm hot, hot, hot and its only 8:35.  Big Smile

Mindy, have a great time at Yellowstone!

    Amanda, congrats on the house!

Sharon, don't advertise Ari unless you are serious.  I was interested!  Stick out tongue

Anyone want Cher?  She's capable of doing amazing things, but she enjoys being a royal PITA while doing them.  Yesterday, she bloodied my lip during her psychotic frenzy.  This morning, she swiped my breakfast.  She's such a turd.
