Deb thanks for that uplifting song of the day!!! Now I will be bouncing and singing in my chair all day!  MMMM maybe a little long island tea later???  Those were the days....lol, boy did I get in trouble with the...oh never mind I was drifting back to the younger years Wink

Great news about the house, have fun with Melinda and Blue.

Hope everyone gets to feeling better soon.

Ari and Cher (beautiful Big Black Dogs) you can come to our house if you need to run away, lol!

I feel better, not 100%, but better.  It was sadly reassuring to find others who also wake up drowning in fire and can't breathe.  I found a forum and some of these people have gone to the ER over it!

I'm super tired, but I'm afraid to drink coffee so I looked around the cafe and as soon as my eye spotted the bagels, my brain said YES, DO THAT!  So, I will make the note that bread is the key.  My brain was so convincing that I ate one whole bagel as the other was toasting.  My brain was not smart and the other bagel is sitting here bathed in cream cheese, uneaten.

OK, off to my 5 hours of meetings.... Thursdays are the tough day.  Hope everyone is staying cool!!

oye I may have had one drink too many last night, OK it may have been more than one too many Ick! In my defense I'd had a super busy day it was 98* and I hadn't eaten properly.  Our neighbor's had a graduation party so we only had to walk across the cul de sac which also didn't help keep my consumption down.  I didn't even have much but it never takes much for me.............I must have asked B to slow down a million times on our walk LOL

I have replaced one idiot client with another idiot client - this one had better get their act together or contract is negated.

Paige I hope you got your acid reflux sorted out.

As for Bugsy I'm happy that for now we aren't looking at the second TPLO.  I was also pleased that his shoulder joints looked so clean, for all the crazy stuff he has done and as he approaches age 6 it is remarkable.  But the increasing arthritis in his low back is a concern.  I still find it hard to believe that is what is causing the extreme pain he seems to be in from time to time. I suppose it could be caused by the muscular shoulder issues but I don't know, his pain tolerance is so high somehow it isn't convincing me.

The funniest part was when the surgeon declared he had a mind of his own - um yes we are aware of that ha ha ha Oh and on the written report the doc wrote, "Bugsy is 105lbs of muscle!"

edit to add congrats on houses, meetups, mom going to Yellowstone, yes its hot, feel better tina and son, and I am afraid that is all the few brain cells I seem to still have, can recall

Someone told me long ago after drinking far too much at a conference to eat something greasy and sure enough it worked. I had a big juicy burger and felt great.

Paige - The guy I dated before I met DH had severe GERD and eventually had to have the surgery to fix it. I also had 2 other friends who had it badly too and all of them said that there's nothing quite like it. Hopefully it was just a one time thing for you but if not, you should probably keep some Prilosec on hand. Also, Gaviscon seems to work better on heartburn than anything else I've tried and was recommended by a dr. many yrs ago.

Mindy - I'm so glad your grandma is doing well and I'm green with envy over your trip to Yellowstone. Have fun and take a lot of pictures.

Xebby - Congrats on the house closing. It really is one of the best feelings in the world.

So, we have regular visits from a female duck every evening at about the same time. She flies in and lands in the pool and it's fun to watch how much fun she has. She usually gets out and sits on the deck grooming herself and then gets back in one more time before flying off. We hadn't seen the male duck in a week or so but this morning he was out on the pool deck but alone. I'm wondering if she had the babies and now they take turns watching over them.

I'm still trying to get caught up here at work and starting to stress over being on jury duty next week. I probably won't get called in but if I do, I may have to bring work home with me to stay on top of things. I postponed it when they selected me the week of accreditation visit but this being graduation time is almost as bad. If it weren't for the work issue, I might look forward to the distraction of being selected for juicy trial.

I think we need pics of your ducks cathy

Amanda i will trade you cher for lily. I dont know who will get the short end of the stick though. She is another one that causes bodily injury, steals food and wakes me up 3x per night (although she is getting much better about that)

Went out for lunch today and its only 70. I was actually cold! I think i could easily turn in to a warm weather person.

Sheesh -- whoever poured me that coffee THANKS.  At least something got me to "wake up".  I just called Wally (my hairdresser -- the really *good* colorist??? Thank Heavens) because I finally realized that I was gonna be sitting in the chair about the time David and I oughta be driving to Megan's wedding!

So Wally obligingly changed my appt (trust me folks -- any old barn needs paint and MY hair has gotten to the point where Wally's gonna need the industrial strength color!  Yes I can laugh -- I might as well - the grey ain't going away any time soon!!).

I'm really getting excited about going to see Meg & FH tie the knot.  David decided at the last minute we'd better stay over night (so we don't have to drive back in the wee hours) and the only available room we found was at a really spiffy bed & breakfast.  This is shaping up to be FUN!!

Luna 'n Tink get to go to Miss Emily's Bed 'n Biscuit -- Luna just wishes we'd go NOW.   She lovvvvvvvvves Miss Emily's.  Tink just wants to DO sumthin!!

Have a great time at the wedding and the inn, Callie.  Sounds like loads of fun.  I really need to change bedding, but first I have to vacuum the top blanket Indifferent before I dare toss it in the washer.  How pathetic is that?  There aren't too many places where I'd admit to having that much dog hair on top of my bed.

It's absolutely gorgeous here today - already in the low 70s and it's not even noon yet. My neighbor has two fruitcakes - one from a bakery in Corsicana, TX and one from Claxton, GA.  We're going to sample both of them very soon, but first I'm going to get us a bottle of chocolate wine to go with the fruitcake. Big Smile

The one from Corsicana could be really good -- Claxton is ok, but you gotta be a fruitcake *lover* to like that one.  American's are downright weird about our national horror over fruitcake.  It can be darned good stuff (with the right rum or wine involved).  My Christmas Cake is essentially a fruitcake - no bitter peel or citron -- just a pound of butter, pound of conf. sugar, 2 oz of vanilla and coconut, cherries, pineapple and WINE.  Find out what's in the one from Corsicana -- you may seriously want to bring rum or brandy, Joyce! LOL (a little Irish Coffee can be a GREAT thing)

When we went into wine country in the spring we tried a great chocolate wine!  I can't remember the name but we might still have the bottle.  DH got a chocolate espresso wine, as well, but I am not a coffee drinker.

Speaking of desserts, I made a chocolate souffle last night.  DH requested it as his birthday dessert, but we were so busy last weekend I didn't make it until last night.  yum, yum, yum.  It was both of our first times ever even having souffle!
