mentioned this on facebook yesterday but for the others - do NOT use almond milk as a creamer for coffee or tea, shudders, horrible

I drink most of my tea and coffee black but like a bit of milk some afternoons.  I usually have skim or up to 1% milk so not into real creamy stuff.  Got some unflavored unsweetened almond milk which isn't bad with cereal or to drink but Ick! when you put it in coffee or tea

consider yourself warned (it even smells wrong PU)

I have been so busy at work I am so sure I have missed tons of stuff but I am glad that I dropped in today, cause I wouldnt have missed this for the world

     WTG, Jackie :)

LOL, you can tell I don't travel with the in set of wine drinkers.  Deb, just put some red food coloring in the vodka and tell them it's a new wine you've discovered.  Put it in a ceramic jug and you'll really make points for your discriminating taste. Wink

Jackie I have been trying to get my garden in but every weekend we have either had rain or last weekend we had temps in the 40's, In May!!!

I think because I am late with my garden I am prolly the only one in the community that is not having to re-plant.

I missed sharing Hot's gottcha day last week, it was his 3rd gottcha day. He hit the happy home jackpot, one spoiled big black dog he is!

Hugs to those that need them....hope everyone is well.

I have no idea what D3 is btw, so maybe it's harmless over the counter stuff.

Errr... it's a vitamin ;) I take it too. Man we are all addicts round here teehee.

I added an edit to my post after I looked it up but thanks.  DH and I take a ton of supplements and vitamins.  We tell ourselves it's so we don't have to take any prescription stuff. lol  I was taking a ton of Vit D for a while but don't know if it was D3.  It was prescription and recommended after my bloodwork showed I was a little low.  I'm off the stuff now as I didn't want to become addicted. Wink

ETA to wish Hotshot a belated Happy Gotcha Day!  :)  I hope you can get in and start your garden soon, Gin.

    Thanks, Steph. :)

Whew, busy and stressed here and all the chat about wine makes me want a bottle or two right now. I don't drink reds as often as whites but I do like Pinot Noir the best. Zins and Cabernets seem too heavy.

It's cold, raining and windy again today :(

I have nothing to even ramble about. My brain feels like scrambled eggs and I have Board meeting materials to put togther - ugh!!

Wait, the world is ending this weekend? Huh? (clueless)

Along the milk talk lines... soy milk does NOT work for making instant pudding. Unless you want some instant soup pudding.

Happy Gotcha Day, Hotshot!! I think we need some pics of your fuzzy face.

I have such a migraine today. I actually stopped at a gas station on my way home from work to get something. They didn't have Excedrin so I decided to try Alieve. I'm glad I just bought a little pack instead of a whole bottle because it has done nothing. Sad

I love it when DH takes the kids to the park in the morning because it completely tires them out and makes nap time sooooooo much easier. Willa said that Sonja was chasing some boy around and gave him a biiiiiig hug. LOL! Hussy.

The version I heard about the world ending is that the beginning of the end is this Saturday but it doesn't go completely until December of 2012.  Karen, I think you will be able to go to the beach a few times if that's the case.  Geeked

***Headache go away*** vibes for Janice.

ETA, whew just a vitamin.  Sorry for yelling at you Paige. :)

ahahah!!  I have had an irregular heartbeat all my life, so I've always used that as my excuse why I couldn't do recreational drugs... So, trust me, I'm not about to take anyone's Rx for ANYTHING!  I'm too much of a straight-edge (read: chickensh--) for that... lol

D3 is Vitamin D and some kind of cell-structural variant which makes it D3.  (Like the way there's B12, etc)  It really seems to improve my attitude/mood/energy.  I'd normally assume it's psychosomatic, except I never expected this to do anything to my mood, but it does.  Living in New England, I'm told most people up here are VitD deficient, so I've learned a ton of my friends are taking a supplement.  2000iu a day really does seem to be good for me.

So, my new job will have me working 4 10-hour days, it seems.  Who wouldn't want a Friday off??  woohooo!!!

I tried this one with the same results -- I was making a dessert for a gathering where one of the girls is lactose intollerant.  It tasted just fine but it definitely didn't set  up properly.

I just read something somewhere about most people having low Vit D and they recommended supplementing up to 2,000 whatevers.  My multi vitamin has 400 whatevers but since it's supposed to help with energy and such I might look into a single supplement for that.

Red wine doesn't do it for me.  I drink white with everything...and chilled at that.

The world had best not end on MY wedding aniversery.  I will be seriously ticked off.  We reach 28 years just to watch the world go up in smoke or whatever?

My brain is fried.  Off to eat some comfort food....homemade mac and cheese tonight.

Kelly and I are going with her mother to the Science Museum for the King Tut exhibit.  Should be interesting

Is the exhibit worth seeing? I'll be in Minneapolis for a few days in June.

I have to admit to being a bit disappointed.  I was expecting more focus on Tut himself.  His life, the tomb, the excavation, the scientific studies...

Most of it was Pharohs and Egyptian culture in general.  It was interesting and well laid out.  Amazing that all this stuff is 3,000 to 4,000 years old !

The mummy of Tut is actually a one-of-a-kind higly technical and precise replica.  I was also told by staff that once this collection of artifacts has completed this US tour, it is all going back to Egypt and never leaving again.  The actual mummy is still in the orginal tomb in the Valley of the Kings.  It will never leave !

I took Willa to get some sandals this afternoon. I really tried to persuade her to get the sporty Keen knockoffs, but she chose some white (ugh) and light pink (ugh again), open-toed, light-up (each sandal has three tiny lights), Disney Princess sandals. Confused

I knew I should have gone without her, but I really wanted her to try them on because I hate returning stuff.

I don't know where she got this princess obsession from. Oh wait, it's all Barb's fault! Stick out tongue A long time ago (year and a half maybe?) she sent Willa a box of videos that her grandkids didn't watch anymore. One of them was a Disney Princess Sing-a-long video that has a Dance-a-long part in the bonus features. That has been her all-time favorite video ever. Now even Sonja gets into it. The songs have been burned into my brain, but it's actually a video I like putting in because I know both of them are going to get up and dance.
