    Wild Wednesday

Just what exactly is a "day off"  ?  I keep hearing of such things, but rarely catch one.

I am leaving in 15 minutes to drop a very hungry kitty to the vet for a dental cleaning.  Good vibes please.  He's 17 years old now, and to the age where I worry a bit about the sedation.  I am confident the vet staff knows what they are doing, but still.........

Then I am heading to the car dealer for some routine maintenance.

Back home to grab the dog and head to the park.  It's 39 degrees right now and supposed to be 50 by noon !!!  Music We're havin' a heat wave !! Music

Drop the dog off and get my own teeth cleaned....then a haircut....

Back home before retrieving kitty late afternoon.

When Kelly gets home, we are attending the visitation for a friend's father.  He'd been sick a very long time and is now finally at peace.

Sending healthy vibes to Wyatt and One Ton.

    Have a great day !!

This morning's breakfast: Dove dark w/raspberry swirl.

Mindy, there really is no day off.  Imagine if you had human kids...

Still thinking of One Ton and Wyatt, too.

Hope Karen (Bugsy's mom) is feeling better today.

Johnny, thanks for the virtual 2x4 help with my doctor's appt yesterday.

Well, it's been 5 days since my last deep tissue massage and my body is finally starting to recover.  Having these massages 3 times a week just about killed me.  Why anyone would pay and do this voluntarily at a spa is beyond me.   I decided to try accupuncture instead and had a great first session yesterday.

Hope I didn't miss anything too exciting around here !

going off to clean ponds. it's what i do-watergardens, koi ponds, aquatic plants, goldfish etc. it's finally warm enough! then i have to open the retail store at noon. being in a landscaping type business in the mid-atlantic is seasonal and my season is starting! that's great in the sense that the weather is warming and things are growing, but sad in that i'll be spending a lot of time away from the dogs. must go and get muddy!

Hope Glenda and Karen are feeling better today!  Tessy smooches to make you both feel better!

Tina....I got you beat on the breakfast front!  Just finished off the last of a six pack of strawberry banana dounuts with an icecap!!!  I've been stressed all morning so this is what happens!  According to my semi functioning brain computations I'm gonna have to do some serious walking/hiking then biking today to burn this all off!  It's a beautiful day here today!!  I actually went out with sandles ond just a t-shirt on earlier!!!   If it wasn't so windy i'd do some burning!

Anywho, I've been noticing that Tessy's been doing the best she's been in almost THREE years!  You'd think this would be enough to make me happier than a pig in you know what but i always have it inthe bqck of my mind that when something good is happening it's always a matter of time till something really bad happens....just my luck suppose!  Maybe i'll take her for a small hike with me today!

Anywho....good vibes to those who need them.  Have a good HuMp day everyone!

ETA:  Hope the treatments make you feel better Deb!

Good vibes for your kitty, Mindy and comfort vibes to your friend who lost their dad.

Deb, I'm so glad the acupuncture helped.  Did any vodka leak out when the needles were inserted?  lol

I'm feeling a bit grumpy this morning and don't know why.  Maybe it's the upcoming Fiesta here in town which causes us huge headaches at work.

GabbyG didn't want to eat her breakfast this morning so I'm on high alert for any sign of a problem.  She's not one to miss a meal.  OK, off to get some work done.

I would never allow that to happen, Jackie.

Morning all.  And thanks Johnny.  I took the last evil pill this morning.  I'm noticing a decrease in allergy symptoms finally.....toss a major reaction in with the seasonal stuff and blech!  I only woke up twice last night so am actually feeling at least a LITTLE more rested.  Bless anyone who has to have long term steroid treatment.  I don't know how they do it....I'm on the verge of committing murder from lack of sleep!

Continued good thots for Wyatt and One Ton and for Karen as well.  Oh, and the old kitty and the family who lost their dad.

Just reading through the old threads AND NO ONE MENTIONED IT'S NATIONAL GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH MONTH ?????  WTH ????

I have had far too much excitement this morning.  Short version:  I am standing in the clinic dropping off the kitty, my partner calls and tells me that the fire alarm in our house  is going off and the fire department is on the way !!!!!   EEK !!  I tell the gal I will call her later and I take off for home.

False alarm.  Kelly called the neighbor who has a key and she let the FD in so they didn't have to break a window or something.  The sensor had some sort of glitch.  I pulled in just as she was headed back to her house.  Baily was more jazzed up than I have ever seen him!  I played with him a bit to burn off energy.  Made a couple phone calls.  Now, I'm at the dealership waiting on the car.

That was a moment of panic.  My FIRST thought was the animals.....only after knowing they were okay did my mind drift to all the other important things.   Paperwork, computer files, pictures etc etc.....     We have safeguards against some of it, but a fire would still be incredibly devastating.

Thank you for the old kitty vibes.

Glenda, I'm glad you are off the steroids.  They ARE evil.

Rufftie, your dogs are cute! I think this is the first time I've seen you in this thread. Welcome

I'm tired and really busy today but wanted to drop by, say hello and check on One Ton.

    soooo, hello!

Off to check the one ton thread!

    • Gold Top Dog

Wow, Mindy!  Glad it was a false alarm.  Fire scares the bejeezus out of me.

And here I thought my morning was off to a good start when I nearly ran over a jogger when backing out of my driveway.

Deb, LOL!  I can't believe I forgot that.  Dear creamy, yummy grilled cheese, I hope you will forgive me. Stick out tongue

Deb W, deep tissue massage is not a fun experience, I agree.  Three times a week is scary to me!!  Geez!  Glad you survived!  Hope the accupuncture helps.  I went to someone for Reflexology this winter, not really knowing what to expect.  Only after we were wrapping up she made some mention of the "energy work at the end" and I realized that was the rush of tingling I felt at the end which was completely different from the earlier experiences.  I was amazed!!  Stuff works!

My heels are KILLING me this week (esp the left one).  I slipped on fresh snow on Friday (thanks for the April Fool's snowstorm!) and my back was tight tight tight a day and a half later.  I also wore new Wellies without much arch/heel support the next day.  I suspect the combination of the two has hurt me.  It's been 3-4 days of mega-hurting feet... I think I need some Reflexology/Reiki if only I had the time and resources right now!

Best wishes to Mindy's kitty getting a dental today!!  Continued good thoughts for One Ton and Wyatt.  I couldn't help myself, I got teary eyed seeing Wyatt's surgery site.  I think seeing any pics of One Ton would just be a shock.

I lived in New Jersey twice upon a time (once when I was a child, once as an adult when I could appreciate such things...) and I LOVED the way Spring blooms there!  I lived outside Philly in Moorestown and it was full of blooming trees and irises and tulips and azaleas and.. oh, GORGEOUS.  Glad you're enjoying the start of your season!

Good thoughts to all who need them!

Oh GOSH!  Scary!!!  Time for a firesafe.  I've been wanting one for important papers like birth certificates, SS cards, passport, antique photos of my family, etc...

Years ago I had a co-worker whose pets all died in a fire about an hour after she left for work.  It was completely devastating, as we all know.  One thing to completely lose your home, belongings, important documents, etc... but to lose your animal family too... awful!

Very VERY glad everything is ok!

Glad Mindy, Kelly and the pets are safe  . . . that's so scary.  I worked at the WTC for 16 years before it went down and I remember standing at the train station and every time I heard I fire engine go by, I was convinced my house was burning down because I left the iron on.  Nobody was happier then me when those auto-shut off irons became available.
