Wicked Wednesday Chat

Xeb good luck with the house!!  What area is it in?  Congrats with all the advancement at work.

Paige, WTG on the cranes... I always liked arts and crafts, but origami seems to require spatial skills I don't have.

Thanks for all the good wishes guys, we know what idog vibes can do.  I spoke with one of my bosses today about it, and he was about as supportive as one could expect.  They have been promising me a promotion at my current job for months now (since before I graduated in December) but promises don't pay bills.  This new position is at the same university so all my benny's would stay the same and I keep my seniority (5 years in May!) but it's definitely more in my field, more opportunity for advancement and two pay grades higher.  I couldn't ask for more.  Fingers crossed.

So did anyone else get 1" hail this afternoon/evening? I thought it would dent the car!  Weird weather for sure.

Nicole the house is in Morningside and it sits on a quadruple lot so it has a huge yard but still within our price range! Counting down the hours till we re-visit it and hope BF agrees that this is the one. Anything could happen at this point so hoping for the best, if it's not meant to be be then there's always something else out there. I almost feel like a hoarder right now living in such a small apartment with no where to store my stuff other then in the plastic bins we brought it in, it will be great to finally be at home in a real house. Best of all, Gizmo will finally be able to come live with me!!!

Best wishes to Nicole on the new job!!! Hope everything works out for you!

Xeb-good luck with the house buying!! Its an exciting time in your life! You will love having your own place!!

I took the dogs out for a romp in the snow. The wind was still nasty but the snow finally stopped coming down so it wasn't too bad. I snapped 175 pix of the crew and the scenery I will be sure to share a few. Quite the characters I live with! hehehe They're all snoozing now after they've eaten!!

Hope everyone has a good evening.

Today has been one of those dash here, dash there days so I'm just now getting to the computer.  The sun finally came out about 1/2 hr. ago (it's 6 p.m.) but I think it's just the lull before the next storm.

RIP Elizabeth Taylor.  She wasn't really all that old by today's standards - 79 - but I think being married eight times would certainly take a toll.

I heard something on the news that just struck me so funny.  Apparently there's a little town in TX that has a pole dancing class every 2nd. Sunday and it's called "Pole Dancing for Jesus" because they dance to Christian music. That almost sounds like an *only in CA thing*.

Erm wouldn't pole dancing for Jesus be a tad blasphemous (says someone who is far from religious)?

Just skimmed this thread and will have to back to read it tomorrow. Long work day, followed by Weight Watchers meeting (I lost 4.4 lbs this week!!!!), followed by sloth once I got home. Sloth is good. Now, I think I'm headed to bed, because being slothful is apparently exhausting workStick out tongue. Planning on another long work day tomorrow. Yay, end of month craziness (please note sarcastic tone lol).

I hope everyone is doing well and has a good night!

    LOL @ Joyce!!

Does that make pole dancing less sinful?!

I have a few friends that have taken pole dancing classes as part of a workout routine at a gym....I hear its quite the workout! Not sure if I could do that though..lol

I think that's why I'm good at it - what I lack in other skills, I make up for in spatial awareness.  Although, I tried an elephant and it wasn't quite perfect.  Not bad, recognizable, but just not up to snuff... lol  I'll try something else tonight I think, just for funsies.  I never made a crane before today, now I want to make tigers and elephants and roses?  What am I thinking?? lol

I remember them talking about you being promoted after you got your grad degree, but if nothing  happened, geex, gotta look out for YOU since they're not.  You're worth more!  Hope it all goes well!!

Xebby, we have friends that live over that way, it seems pretty nice, good luck again!  House buying was by far the most stressful thing we had ever gone thru but it's so much better than renting!

Thanks!  So of course she had asked me one of those "what would you do if --" questions, and I answered it just fine ( you get it done!) but I wish I had given more detail on the intermediate steps.  Oh well.  I'm sure it won't be that one thing that makes or breaks me.  I wish it was possible to have an answer/offer sooner but I know it will be at least 2-3 weeks before they could do that so lalalalalalalala
