I've been looking in the Rainbow Bridge forum for the thread.

I will put something in Rainbow Bridge when I can -- my heart just hasn't quite figured how yet.

OH Callie :( I am sorry to hear Billy passed away :(  ((((((hugs))) to you

Callie, I'm so so sorry.  He was an inspiration, and a wonderful dog, I'm so privileged to have gotten to know him through this forum.  Run free, Billy, I'm sure there were a lot of friends waiting at the Bridge for you.

Our hearts are breaking for you. Run free Billy.

So very sorry to hear this.

I'm so sorry, Callie.  (((hugs)))  Is it wrong of me to have "favourites"?  Anyway, Billy was one of mine.  I always thought of him as an "English gent", and there aren't MANY of us on this board who are English, are there Wink so Billy always stood out to me.  I always searched out updates or stories about him.  I'm just so sorry.  Lifting you up XXXX

Callie, if I had your gift of saying the exact right words I would be able to return the comfort you gave to me and so many others at times like this. Because your heart is so kind I know it hurts very deeply. RIP Billy and all my love to you Callie.

Denise, you *did* say all the right words!

In a Scotsman's house he was the "token Sassanach" but oh my, he still loved pipe music.  He would have been **delighted** Chuffy, to know he was a "favourite" -- it was always his aim.  Never in my life have I known a dog so adamantly determined to **connect** with each and every person who gave him attention!

How are you guys doing Callie?

    • Gold Top Dog

My mother sent me some "old stuff" (dolls that were hers, etc.) all packed in "peanuts" -- and I just had a major little sniff to myself b/c NOBUDDY liked **PRESENTS** better than Billy.  Christmas? RAH!  Birthdays?  RAH!!  He didn't care a whit that it might not be for him -- he just LOVED the whole "unwrapping presents" thing -- new scents, what's IN it?

And packing peanuts?? Weren't they invented FOR a little English cocker spanYELL to try to sneak and devour?  I mean ... they're YUMMY mom!

Nope -- not any more.  Not one cared I was "unwrapping" nuffing!

danged sad.  danged lonely.  He's missed.  Bunches and bunches.

Awwww, I CARE!!!!   I'll sneak a peanut if it'll make you happier!!  :)

I sure hope he had the chance to find and meet Sadie at the bridge.  I'm sure he's got quite the following already where he's at!

    HHHHUUUUUGGGGSSSSSS

Oh Johnny -- I SO wish your card had gotten here earlier -- Billy would have had a FINE time sniffing it!!  (Got it yesterday -- thank you SO much!)

I can honestly say that other than Foxy, no other dog has wagged his way over Rainbow Bridge who knew **better** where he was than Billy.  Even as sudden as it was, Billy would have known EVER-BUDDY.  Not only did he know *my* list of who to say hello to, this dog would have had his OWN list!  Sadie, Thor, Chloe, other IMHA dogs -- and I'm sure the first thing he would have chatted Sadie up (yes "flirted";) with would have been **snow**

Do you RREEEEALLLLY have to walk in that cold stuff JUSt to pee & poop?  HOW deep is it?  not for real????? FOR RREALLLLL???

Billy would have been incredulous, and I can just imagine Thor having all sorts to add to that after Thor's "winter" in Flooor-daa and then moving to MA.

I tell ya -- he is probably ***still*** finding folks and dogs and making *his* presence known.  I mean .;.. there are peepuls there to love on and dog's to say 'howdy' to and .... OH WOW -- **OTHER** species to make friends with!!

Billy was always certain any other species of *anything* was always just a friend he hadn't met *yet*.

I can actually sit here and giggle to myself that some of the others might think he was full of himself but nope -- he just had *folks* ta connect with!  It was what he was good at ... it was the quintessential **BILLY** thing.

Some how or other he was "looking over my shoulder" when I opened that box -- I'm sure it's why I felt the loss so keenly.

Thanks you guys -- this started out to be a lonely day -- and instead, I've been able to put some things in place and just "Miss" him rather than feeling devastated.

Still sending ((hugs)), Callie. I'm still having a hard time believing it. Sad

It seems, to me, Callie, that Billy was most like you. The one who connects with everyone.

And certainly he was the bravest. He knew it was time and left when it was the best timing, so that you and others wouldn't linger. He probably read Shakespeare behind your back and probably knew that "t'were better it were done quickly. For 'tis a far better place I go to than I have ever been before."

Run free, Billy, and blessings you and your family. Which is pretty much everyone.
