Bucket List: take 1343234

    • Gold Top Dog
    I know I will own another flat coat at another point in my life, but other breeds on my wish list (no particular order): 1. Malamute 2. German Shepherd 3. Golden Retriever 4. Doberman 5. Newfoundland (already vetoed by the significant other lol due to drool factor)
    • Gold Top Dog
    My bucket list is probably the same as last time, the breeds I love don't change much.

    1. Rottweiler (I will always have one, I am so in love with the breed);

    2. Newfoundland;

    3. Saint Bernard;

    4. Bernese Mountain Dog;

    5. Staffordshire Bull Terrier (although I will have to move to own one...they are banned here), and

    6. Whippet - probably much longer down the line, I love them but worry about their tinyness with all the other large large dogs I like.

    I have a thing for hounds as well, but I can't say for certain that I will have another....depends where I am living and how settled I am - then perhaps another beagle, basset or black and tan.

    My" bucket list " consists of  only one breed the American Pit Bull Terrier

    #1  rescued APBT

    #2 adopted APBT

    #3 APBT

    I just love these guys and there are sooo many in the need of homes. Did you know that APBT,amstaff, straffordsire terriers, bullies make up atleast 50% of the pound population. This is so sad.  Great dogs but many have bad owners.

     well the more I learn the more I stay with the same breeds:

    GSP

    Weim

    Vizsla

    German Wirehaired pointer

    Ridgeback

    Plott hound

    and of course big old short-haired handsome mutts of unknown lineage who have a incredible zest for life Big Smile

    • Gold Top Dog

    Well, I love all the big black dogs cant see myself without one.

    1. Our heart dog was Rottie...hope someday to rescue another one.

    2. BMD - check :) (Would love to have a pup...would be interested in the difference if we raised one from puppyhood.

                                 I highly recommend BMD to any of those that have one on their list.  Hot is so calm, loving, and doesnt drool, lol!

    3. Newf - thought Rocky was a mix....not so sure, think he is just an adorable lab. So the Newf is still on the list.

    4. Not a small dog fan....but.... have thought a Corgi would be a good small dog fit for us.

    • Gold Top Dog

    OK I forgot to say, someday I'm going to get DH a Beagle.  I think they are the perfect dog for him and I like them well enough to have one around for the comic relief.

    • Gold Top Dog

     Gin, I'm sure 22lbs. of Corgi is small compared to Hot, but believe me they are not prissy little dogs at all. Smile

    LOL, which is exactly why I thought a Corgi would be a small dog choice for us.  After learning more about them from you and other me thinks Corgi is a big dog with short legs :)   We had a couple of Bassetts when the kids were young and I loved them dearly but...they dont really mind to well when it comes to digging in my garden :)... I have heard that Corgi's are very smart and very trainable Big Smile

    • Gold Top Dog

     They are big dogs with shorty legs! They are extremely biddable, very easy to train and live to please their owner. They do shed, but I'm sure that won't dissuade you. Tootsie, would be more than happy to lay next to you while you garden.

    My bucket list probably has shifted a bit:

    • Papillion
    • Bull Terrier
    • Dachsund
