The dogs have lost their antler again. I have no idea where it is hiding this time. I searched - under couches, under dressers, under bed, under computer desk, fridge, and stove, and in all the dog beds. No sign of it this time. I only noticed because Zipper was hauling around a HUGE sterile bone that I usually stuff, trying to find a good place to chew on it. I'm not so comfortable with him chewing on it with the strength that he was, hence the search. They hide things better than most kids I know.

But, in my search I  did find a gently used Nylabone in the couch cushions that he has fallen back in love with. I count that as a partial-win, no? Still have to find that antler, or replace it if I don't find it soon. These guys love their chews, and the Nylabone won't last long here.

Oye Bugsy is just odd.  He has more quirks than normal functions. His sleeping habits are not an exception.  He has beds on each floor and his crate. I'd say 90% of the time he chooses to sleep and/or just chill on a bed.  But which bed?? For instance a bit ago he walked past DH, came & stole a magazine I was going to read and went to the third floor where no one is and it is pitch dark. Having not seen him for a while I went and found him curled up on a bed up there.

He also has a recently developed an obsession for plastic Perrier bottles; it is a full out obsession so you must keep them out of sight and reach or a disaster awaits.  If he can get one he shreds it, empty or full Surprise It appears he especially likes when they have never been opened so they make a huge mess.

    bizarre

Oh Bugsy, such a character... I would really like to meet him some day! I have a feeling I might be out-dogged. ;) How is he doing - does he seem better lately? No more odd stiff/limping behavior?

Do you think I could teach Charlie to poop and pee in the toilet?  Seriously I am putting off going to bed just so I don't have to put on all this outside gear so I don't freak my tushy off.

I think Sully *hearts* his new crate. Instead of a lot of tossing and turning last night I heard...nothing. LOL. Just snoring. This morning he didn't even want to get out of it. LOL! The bit of extra room was apparently...MOST welcome.

Lisa, if you can train a cat to do it...why not? The idea of going to pee and finding a non human turd floating there just freaks me out tho!

Bevo understands english.  It's scary just how much he understands.  On mornings when he is staying home for the day, I tell him "sorry Bev, but you're staying here today." he goes somewhere & pouts.  He refuses to give me good bye lovins.  He constantly listens in on conversations, & then goes and does something that was just being discussed.  He understands just as much as my 10 year old does, which can be a little stressful at times.

Last night, as Kord was beginning to act funny, I told DH "I hope that Kord isn't trying to bloat."  Before I was through with my sentence, Bevo had gotten out of his bed & came over to sit next to me.  As things progressed, I announced to DH that they were on the way to the vet & that Dawn would be texting me with progress reports.  Bev immediately got up from his seat next to me, & walked over to sit next to the table that my phone was sitting on.  Every time that a text would come through, he would jump up & stand with his head over the phone, waiting to hear the latest update.

When we went to bed, I made Cher move off of my pillow so that the phone could rest there, just in case there were changes overnight.  Bev also made Cher move so that he could lay with his head next to the phone.  Neither of us slept well last night, & up until the last update, Bev has been even more anxious than normal.  Obsessing over me, obsessing over my phone, & even watching my computer screen.  As soon as I got word that Kord was doing ok & could go home, I told Bev.  Immediately, he let out a big sigh, waltzed over to his bed, & curled up for a nap.

One of my dogs ate a rabbit pelt.  I don't know who and I hope it comes out OK...

I'd be scared to teach Gaci to use the toilet. I know she'd be trying to give Shimmer swirlies in no time.

Shimmer is right now continually picking the sterile bone up and taking it up on the couch, and then proceeds to drop it off the couch onto the hard floor, where she lays there wagging at it for a moment, and then hops off to pick it up and start all over again.

My, the simple pleasures in life.

Lies, I hope that pelt makes it through okay!

The re-housebreaking of lily is going well. There were a couple spots in the house she thought it was ok to go. I tried the crate thing but that really didn't work. So I have been blocking off access to those areas which forces her to hold it if I'm not home and ask me to let her out when I am home. Part of the trouble is communication between us. She's not a back door bell wringer and I would sometimes dismiss her not thinking she was trying to tell me she had to go out. We are on week 2 now and so far so good. If she barks at me or licks my hand at night I let her out. During the day, its a different level of communication that is harder to read but I'm learning. I expect to have to do this for a good 6 months for it to really sink in as habit for her. But I'm hopeful!

Me too!  I can't find it so I can only assume that someone ate it.  It's not a hole pelt, maybe 10 inches long and 1-2 inches thick.  I guess I will be inspecting poop for the next few days...

if I wear this white hoodie when I groom Sully you cannot see ANY dog hair on it when I am done, and I can ignore the fact that I am covered in short, bristly white hairs for the rest of the day!

LOL!  Gabby does the same thing with her nylabones when she's on the couch.  It's one of her favorite games.  I love a dog that can amuse herself with a simple harmless game.

I sometimes contemplate what it must be like to own a car or a house without dog hair in every crack and crevice.  I'll never know and I don't care. :)

I took some pictures yesterday of the excavation in my backyard.  If I didn't know better, I'd think Cleo had been here giving lessons......  I'll post them and you guys can decide who started the project.  lol

Lol. She has taught Sully how...so now I have TWO diggers. Even better? instead of one LARGE condo sized hole...Sully prefers to "trench" and make several haphazard shallow long  scrapes along the ground. It looks like a motocross track out back right now. :|
