    It's Monday chat!

Good Morning folks!  It's a balmy -10 degrees here this morning.Goodness...working our way right into spring!

I'm not at all excited to be going to work this morning.  Didn't pack a lunch, didn't stock a briefcase, didn't put clothes out for today last night......not at all.  Wink

Hope everyone has a GREAT Monday.

Congrats again on the job Glenda.  I missed what it is aside from seasonal.  What will you be doing?

Working from home today...going into the office TWT, then working from home on Friday.  Taking advantage of it while the boss is in Asia.

My old group will be in Houston later this week (well, at least about 10 of them)...so I'll go by their conference room and say hey to everybody.  I didn't mention it here, but week before last, there was a tragedy for one of their employees, here locally.  Horrible story.  Short story: husband snaps for some reason...shoots his wife, starts a fire in his house, then shoots himself.  Ugh.  Apparently, he brought in several cans of gasoline and spread them around the house...so explosions ensued.  Horrible, horrible.  They had no kids, I don't believe they had any pets...and word is that she was going to be filing for divorce in the near future.  So sad.

Wow.  What an incredibly sad situation.

It's income taxes, and thanks, Barb!

Glenda, hope the first day on the job goes well. :)

I've been up way too long and I know I'll be dragging today.  I woke up at three and never could get back to sleep.   I had a great time Saturday with my niece.  We managed to hit World Market just as the wine tasting started.  :)

Hope everyone's Monday is relatively painless.

so I got up to let the beast back in and my mouse slid off the laptop board and straight into my cup of coffee.  Never even hit the sides. So THAT's the sort of day I have ahead, huh? LOL

My weekend was good so feeling ready for the week ahead

    Good luck Glenda

Barb that story is awful, so sad.

Ugh Jackie I hate when I can't sleep

Lots to do today and now have to add buying a new mouse - I'm sure someone had them on sale yesterday, me no likely no mouse

Congrats to the Packers and Steelers, commiserations to the Bears and Jets

I traded in my zippy little miata ragtop for a new jeep with heated seats.

A Jeep doesn't make you an old broad, IMO.  Mini-vans and station wagons (no offense to Volvo & Suburu) do that.

Maybe not, but the heated seats do.

    YAY for Magnolia!

Good luck on your first day Glenda!

I agree with Tina, Deb. A jeep doesn't make you an old broad - a mini-van definitely would though. Not so much for a station wagon....well maybe a volvo one, NOT a Subaru though. Subaru station wagons make me think ski bum. LOL.

Someone PLEASE pass me the 2x4. I am furious this morning! My co-worker wasn't here ALL week for the week before last. She didn't even bother calling in for two of those days, then lied and said she had called and talked to another co-worker - she didn't. She went from being fine, just not in, to being sick, to having put her back out. All sorts of excuses for that week. I ended up calling her the first day to see where the heck she was and when she answered, she just sounded drunk. My boss said NOTHING to her. He either doesn't seem to care, or simply believes all her "ailments". I mean, if you miss work for a week and are truely sick - go to a FRICKEN doctor. Seriously. Anyway - she is now not in again today. Her "back is out again". I could care less what days she wants off work - she has a ton of holidays. I just want more notice than a phone call, or lack thereof, on the day. Surely that isn't too much to ask. I have never in my life come across a boss that simply doesn't care when employees don't show up or give any notice of not showing up.
