I have officially become an old broad.

What happened to bring you to this determination?

I traded in my zippy little miata ragtop for a new jeep with heated seats.

    Deb W.

Welcome to the old broads club!  The heated seats are soooo worth it, Deb!

I am battling a pulled groin from a non-cooking related accident.  I'm supposed to run a half marathon this coming weekend, so if anyone has any ideas on how to get this bad boy healed, quickly, please toss them out!  Traumeel, ice/heat aren't getting it done.

Maybe not, but the heated seats do.

Not in sub-zero weather.  They make you smart & lucky.

Amanda, no groin healing advice, but am sorry it wasn't cooking related.

Stacy, those kinds of co-workers are exactly the kind that make everyone else have to get doctor's excuses for missing work.  Here in the states, that means a trip to the doctor, even if it is just a cold, so that's a minimum of $60 out of pocket. Angry

Suicide bomber blew up Moscow's airport.  At least 23 people dead and over 130 injured.

Uh-hem!!!!  I have a van with heated seats.....excuse me ladies!!!  It is the best vehicle I have had in years!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stacey, it would be my luck, that if I did what your co worker is doing despite the fact that I have maxed out on my sick leave years ago, I would probably be fired. LOL!  I would not want to try it just to see :)

Have a wonderful first day at work Glenda!!!

I just saw the pictures of "Wrigley" omg I am in love!!!

Going to be a very busy day/week here, hope everyone has a good week!   All our wonderful friends up north, the word for the day is "Layering"

    Stay safe and stay warm!

Amanda - ice was what helped DH when he had a groin injury but it took more than a week to get better. Hopefully you'll heal faster.

    Yay for Magnolia getting adopted!!!

Deb - I'd just posted recently that heated car seats are the best thing ever. Congrats!

I took today off and I'm so glad I did. It looks like it's going to be a pretty nice day and I plan to get outside and prune some of rose bushes. I need to go pick up some groceries too. I hope everyone dealing with the frigid weather stays safe and as warm as possible.

I was on my way to school this morning, but I quickly gave up on that idea. There were delays on NJ Transit, and there was no way I was getting to Penn Station in time to make the connection to get to Boston. So, I am back at home, and I am calling in to class today. Hopefully I will make it Thursday.

It sort of reminds me of the movie Office Space. It's like she's just playing to see how far she can go before getting fired! It would be my luck to that the second I tried something like that, despite his leniency with her, I would be the one to get canned. LOL.

Deb....LOL @ the granny car!!!  I think it depends on the type of jeep!!!  Heated seats in Texas????  That's got *Old Broad* writen all over it!!!  hehe

Amanda...stretching, walking and massaging!  I'm old fashioned when it comes to injuries.  LOL

-30 with the windchill but I'm right on the water so I'm figuring closer to -40!!!  I'm gonna grunt it to go for a walk today.  Suppose if I bundle enough it should be alright!

Glenda....hope you have a good day at the new job.  Can't wait to hear how it goes.

Good vibes to those who need them.

Hmm on the co worker thing? Usually here more than 3 days without a doctors note, or accompanying paperwork for short term disability,  is considered job abandonment. Your mileage may vary!

Monday here has been quiet. Made our reservations for the weekend, I need to groom the boy but don't feel like it just now. I didn't sleep well last night, probably the nap I inadvertently took during the 1st football game yesterday lol.

Elias was really affectionate with me this weekend, that must mean he's up to something? LOL. There's a commercial on TV with some famous waltz in it...I waltzed with him once and now EVERY time the commercial comes on he runs over to me and says "Mommy our song is on!" and pulls my arm til I dance with him, LOL!

Good thoughts to all who need them! :)

I have heated seats, and adore them. You'd have to pry my buttwarmers out of my cold, clenched... ahem.

Reading about the Moscow attacks now... so sad. My thoughts are with them.

At the very least here, it would generally be grounds for some sort of stern talking to or a warning or SOMETHING.....at most every other job I've ever heard of. LOL.

My day gets better. Our bookeeper decided she was taking the day off too. Now I am trying to chase her down to sign some cheques because she's the other name on the account! We have a deal going today - granted she (and I) didn't know about it on Friday - but I wish she was at least reachable! Fingers crossed I get ahold of her before 3:30. LOL - I am starting to laugh at it....or I will go insane.

coffee mug diving mouse problem rectified - got a new one from Staples LOL

carefully drinking a nice cup of almond amaretto coffee now - no worries my mouse is not anywhere in the line of the cup

    The Moscow situation is awful

Ah heated seats are wonderful.  And hey old lady or not I love my station wagon and so does Bugsy.  I actually hate truck/SUV's, well I hate driving them. What I would really love is a Mini Cooper Clubman but I think B would take up the whole back with the seats down, so no way it would take us to the beach/mountains/etc. Sad

I would love a Forester, a BMW 530 wagon, or the new Acura wagon, hopefully I'll change in the next 12 months.  Honestly I love the Saab I just want to ditch it before I have to fix it, which at some point I will have to.

This is truly not getting me anywhere with regard to the list of stuff I need to do so I'm off to refill my coffee mug

Karen, your black GSP is still at our shelter.  I got to walk him yesterday and he is a sweetie!  And even more handsome in person.

My god, I stopped in here briefly to check this thread and I'm so stunned to see the Moscow airport news that I simply cannot remember anything else in the thread, I'm so sorry.  I'll come back later to catch up, but reading this is awful - be careful, there's some graphic language in this report that I'm surprised they even published!

Will post this later -- but I'm time-impaired.

Had to take Billy to the vet -- he is OBSTRUCTED.  *rolling eyes* A bit bigger than a quarter but perfectly round and about that thin.  Poor guy feels really yucky -- I'm glad what ever he got into was at least attention-getting on an x-ray.

AND -- (had a lot going on and no time) -- the holistic vet found a "spot" last week (literally it's like 1/8" across) that is no freckle.  It's wine-red -- so it looks like a melanoma.  Melanomas are tricky to remove because the primary one carries an 'inhibitor' and if you remove it 4-6 others can pop out all over the body.  So gonna let Dr. B (regular) vet remove and Dr. D (homotoxicology vet) is going to take a piece of it and make a nosode (very like the new melanoma vaccine they have out -- except this won't trip the IMHA.

     Can't do surgery til tomorrow.

    It's Monday at 1:35 p.m. and I"m maxxed already.

    Glenda hope it goes GREAT

    Magnolia -- RAH!!!

Amanda??  Acupuncture?? and INJECTIBLE Traumeel -- Traumeel that is injected rocks in a BIG way -- and coupled with the acupuncture it really can make something heal VERY fast.
