I'm just curious

LOL.  People want to try it first.

Izzy eats Innova Adults (which is an all stages food) and Harley eats California Natural Lamb and Rice since he has a sensitive tummy and the Innoca gave him terrible gas.

Innova is available at the feed store where I live and so is Cal Nat.  If you are looking for Innova go to [linkhttp://www.naturapet.com]www.naturapet.com[/link] and they will tell you where to find it in a store near you if it is available.  From an email response I recieved from Natura about the new Evo flavors recently, they do not support buying online b/c they want you to have the freshest product and be able to check dates etc which you can not do if you buy online.  Also, it may seem more expensive, but in the long run it is about the same, b/c the KCals are so high that you feed much less of it than most other foods.  Harley eats a lot more California Natural than he did Innova and they are both made by the same company.

What about Nature's Recipe and Nutro Natural Choice?
    • Gold Top Dog
Both are grain heavy, but I've heard great things about both.  Some of the Nature's Recipe formulas contain wheat, which can cause all sorts of problems like too much poo, ear infections, and sometimes a wheat allergy is shown through epilepsy.  But not all, so just read the ingredients.

I have fed nutro, but make sure it is Nutro Natural Choice not Nutro Max.  Nutro Max is very grainy.  I didn't like Nutro Natural Choice because my dog had loose stools on it, but other people have had great luck on Nutro Natural Choice.

We used to feed Talus Innova large breed puppy...but his poops were too loose...
Now we feed him "people" food...fresh beef, chicken, veggies and such...

    My dogs are fed Pedigree.

I feed Shadow Nutro Natural Choice Large Breed Adult Lamb and Rice. He does great on it. Even Schlep commented on his coat when we got to meet in person. However, your and others' experience may vary. We tried Innova once. 16.5 pound bag cost 30 dollars after tax from Canine Comissary im Plano, Texas at 15th and Custer. It's a small, privately owned store. Plus, your prices may vary depending on the city taxes of whatever city you are in, the lease cost of whereever the store is. I found it by googling "premium dog food dallas texas." You might do the same in your area. Many people have had excellent results with Innova. The kcals per cup are little higher than some foods, so adjust accordingly.

We feed Wellness. I don't hear too many people that do, is there something I should know about that? I thought it was a pretty good choice.

I know a few poeple who feed wellness. Someone is bound to say its "grain heavy" though. I happen to look for those that are "oat heavy". lol.

I fed it to Sally for a while and she pooped WAY more than any dog should poop.  Plus, she still had flakey skin.

Now I feed her Nature's Variety kibble and she's doing better on it than she has any other food.

I'm seriously considering adding the raw medallions to her diet, but everytime I bring it up DH starts whining--I'll sneak it in somehow...

I have a 10 lb. dog and I feed the regular Innova (not even small bits).  She gets 1/2 cup a DAY... so is it expensive... not when you consider a $21 bag lasted over 3 months.

I just rotated to Canidae all stages.  Again, 1/2 cup and this $22 bag will probably last about 4 months and I will go back to Innova.

You know, I've noticed that even though we're feeding what I thought was a premium food, there is an awful lot of poop to pick up. It took me so long to decide on Wellness, though. I'm overwhelmed by all of the options!

In the AM: Canidae ALS dry with 1/3 lb raw ground turkey, sometimes a whole raw egg (including the shell) and some sort of lowfat yogurt, ricotta or cottage cheese.

In the PM: some sort of RMBs (raw meaty bones), beef or chicken or pork - whatever was on sale

Innova would probably kill me considering that I have two dogs that eat like a pack of wolves. I'm sure it is worth it for those who buy it though.
