Whoever decided to bring back that hideous bright plaid from the 80s should be punished by eating pop rocks and soda until they explode.

I think the MOST hilarious trend I have seen of late is Capri pants...FOR MEN.

Oh dear lawdy lawd. Check yer manhood at the door, mon frere!

    • Gold Top Dog

I just never got into the Capri thing.  I admit some of the girls at the office told me I just had to get some.  I went to a resale shop and bought 1 pair, very inexpensive, wore them one time and never wore them again.  I am just toooooo short and I just really didnt like the fit :)

I've found this thread amusing lol. I'm oblivious to fashion to be honest. I buy what fits - which for me is difficult given I have wide hips and a huge chest! I would like to see more modest clothing options. I do love the clothing from the 40's though, so I'm with everyone else who said bring that back.

I'd get rid of pants that fall down or expose your underwear/boxers for men. You look like a moron if you wear something like that. I actually had someone walk in once (at a past job) looking for employment, dressed like that. We weren't hiring but I did tell him he'd have better luck if his pants fit and it appeared like he didn't just roll out of bed! For women, low rider pants. I do not need to see your nether region or butt crack, nor do I care to stare at your belly flab.

Good for you!  Most of us would think that is obvious, but I cant tell you how many times I have wanted to say this to people coming in our office looking for a job.  We dont do the hiring here but...our opinion can trash a resume :)

I LOVE capris. I wear them all the time in the summer. I do have to have them hemmed shorter usually, since I am short and have short legs. I also don't mind them on the odd guy.....not all guys can pull them off. My friend does, wonderfully though. He looks great in capris.

I do wear them too and I have some that are really cute but I just don't think it's a fashion statement that will be gushed about many years from now. If were talking about capris for men that are kind of like cargo pants but shorter, then I think they look pretty good too for summer wear. I'd much prefer that than to see a guy in shorts that are too short - ick!

Men who can pull off capri's, here's all I got to say...

They do not look like men wearing capri's to me they look like men who happen to look good in women's clothing. Plenty of men, do (and nothing wrong with that, HOLLA'!)...but to me they are very femme. Just not a look I would ever find attractive or want my man to emulate.

The ONLY capri that looks even remotely hot is the Vato capri which is a pair of khaki Dickey's pants cut off about 3" above the ankle, frayed at the hem, and worn as "shorts" by the homies in summer, yo. Pair that with a white ribbed tank top to show off the ink and rawr yes...some men can look hot in capri's. But I don't advise going up to said vato and complimenting him on his "capri pants"...ese'.

     Loving all these!  lol...

I want jeans that fit and are not straight through hip and waist. I have a butt thank you very much and having two inches of waist bunched up in my belt so my jeans don't fall down is uncomfortable!

I *hate* the hangin' low pants on guys. I find it very disturbing to watch guys walk with their legs spread apart to keep their pants up! Ugh hate it!!!

I have one empire waist tank top. It's loose and flowy and only looks good with certain shorts or a pair of jeans. So loose and flowy up top, tighter more streamlined below.  lol...

I wear scrunchies when I put my hair up because hairbands tear up my hair and get really tangled really easily, which is no fun.  So I have a collection of scrunchies that I've had since the 80's. heh...

Agreed! I recommend Gap pants, some Banana Republic pants (especially BR outlets! Gap outlets too), and absolutely NO LL Bean. Shopping tip I recently discovered - a lot of websites are now putting full pants measurements up online, so you can see the difference in measurement between waist and butt. Very helpful, for those of us with a bit of rear cushioning. :)

Corduroy! I've already told DH that in the future, should we have a boy child, it will wear a LOT, if not ALL, corduroy clothes. He will especially wear corduroy hats....lots of them. At separate times, not all at once.

    Interesting thread idea.

I'd like to bring back some of the fashion from the first half of the 1910s. Okay, so must of what I know is based off of movies, but oh well. But this outfit is beautiful..I just can't seem to find a good full picture of it.

    .

I'd like to ban Uggs. I'm sorry, I know a lot of people like them, but I just think they are ugly. : P

And, I wish that clothes were made that would easily fit a "curvy" figure. I do not mean curvy as in overweight (even though *everyone* should have access to cute and comfortable clothing). I just have a full chest and curvy butt (Lol) and it is very difficult to find nice clothes that flatter my body type. Maybe that's why I like the 1910s style.

I want them to bring back those cheap canvas tennis shoes!  My Nona (grandmother) used to buy me them in all these neon and wild colours, like 5 for 3$.

My fondest memory wearing those, I was walking home from school and walked on newly placed ashphalt, and not only burning the bottoms of my feet, but the plastic on the bottom literally melted, so walking the rest of the way home (at least a 15 minute walk) I was sticking to the sidewalk with every step lol
