    Happy New Year!

I woke up thinking it was Sunday so I was pleasantly surprised when I realized it was Saturday.  I hope everyone had a safe and fun NYE.  We stayed home and enjoyed a quiet evening.  Until midnight when the neighborhood fireworks show started.  OMG!  I have never heard it so loud and the dogs were barking their heads off at all the noise.

No big plans for the day.  I'll probably clean the carpets and we'll take the dogs to the park.  Ruger (visiting dog) had a great time at the park yesterday.  He's a sweetie and he fits in well around here.

Sending good vibes to Julie and to Leslie.

Spent NYE with some of my fave clients who invited me to share a whole lotta Chinese food.  Unusual for me because I rarely go out NYE.  But these guys only live about 10 miles away and I came home on some pretty deserted back roads so I could stay away from the drunks on the highway;-)  Hope everyone's 2011 is good!  Attention New Year gods - NO sick dogs this year, 'k?

Good morning and Happy New Years everyone.

We had a quiet NYE here, I spent some time out on the porch with the neighbor because it was sooooo warm. Then went home, re-potted some plants. Did my traditional lighting of the candle at midnight and then off to bed I went.

Was up at 5am and like you Jackie, I thought it was Sunday. Not to sure what I'm going to do today, but I am sure it will be an adventure all the same.

Happy New Year!  Being an old poop I managed 1/2 a galss of wine and 11 PM before I zonked out.  That's pretty late for me, altho I normally can handle much more wine!  I'm blaming it on the snow walks!  That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I too woke up wondering what day it was....I hate getting confused like that.

Have a great day everyone....DS got his truck FIXED!  yeah!!!  And it was the starter coil.

I went out shortly before midnight and went to the restaurant where my sister works one might a week.  For a tiny restaurant, the place was packed and they'd cleared out tables for dancing - I had a good time.  Although I woke up in the middle of the night w/a massive cramp in my hip/thigh from all the dancing, I guess.  I ended up staying to help clean up a little - just swept confetti from the floor.... and the owner gave me a $50 gift certificate! lol

Guess it's time to take down my old calendar and put up the new one...  Dinner at my parents house w/my sister, step-sisters plus my BFF and her baby, and the friends I'm staying with.  My mom's place is right on the water - like, million dollar views.  Going to be a good way to spend the day.

thanks for the calender reminder.  I'm going to spend much of the next few hours plowing through snow with the dogs!

    Happy New Year everyone!

This New Year is starting off surprisingly warm, I was able to go out on my balcony without a coat this morning.  Last night was the same when we opened a bottle of champagne and watched the fireworks, very nice view from my apartment.

The house hunt begins this year.  BFs parents are visiting in February and since they are very experienced at buying homes they may help us as we look for our first house.  I'm starting to become a bit more stable financially so this will be a good thing.  BF and I have gone through a lot of changes in the last few months, all for the better really.  He's become more understanding of me and my needs.  We still have our little shuffles but we are now talking more then before and working things out.  He knows I'm miserable living in an apartment but we do what we can for now.  My three guinea pigs will be coming back with me after visiting NM so it will be nice.  I'm sure my Mom is going to miss them but my parents will have their hands full with Parton.

That sounds like a great way to spend the day Paige. Have fun!

I was konked out by 10:30 last night and never heard a thing after that. I woke up with a tummy ache around 1 and that kept me up for a bit. I woke up hoping to see some snow but nope, just more rain. It's supposed to rain all day today and tomorrow. I'm a wee bit tired of the gloom and hope the sun will peek out today.

I need to run to the grocery store and I feel like cooking or baking today but not sure what. I should probably eat before I head to the store or I'll end up coming home with way more than I need.

I've been thinking of Leslie since she posted on FB about losing Pepper yesterday. Such a difficult thing to go thru and I hope she's doing okay.

So at about 9:30 this morning I turned on the TV channel that I did the interview with and whoa! there I was - scary. I can't find a link yet but am hopeful it get posted on their site.  I've asked the interviewer for a digital copy of it, I'd love to post it on my website.

We wound up having a really good night last night.  We went to our usual Friday night place, which was packed!!  We saw a bunch of people we know - I think that seals the fact we are no longer newbies here LOL

Then we stopped home to let B out before heading over to his friend Izzy's house.  But before heading there I convinced DH to stop by Bugsy's other girlfriend's house, they had their outdoor fireplace going and had a group of family there.  We wound up staying there for an hour or so and then headed to Izzy's.  That was a bunch of fun (plus there was a 4 mo old boston terrier visiting = cute!) and then finally home.  It was wonderful to not even have to leave our neighborhood for the later visits.  Overall a really fun evening

Today we are off to a New Year's brunch at Campbell's house and then I think just hanging out.  I really need to clean - I was going to yesterday but it never got done.

I feel so sad for Leslie but at least she did get to say goodbye, but so sad to start the new year with a loss

OK need to get dressed and ready to go out - have a great New Year's Day all

Happy new year, everyone!!!!!!!! May 2011 build on all the best parts of 2010, without the icky parts!

Amanda, that's great news about house shopping. Please please please do protect yourself financially, though! My cousin bought a condo with her then-fiancee, and she lost a TON of money when they split up about a year later. A TON of money. And he was super rich, too, so could have easily afforded to absorb the losses. But he didn't. So just be very very very careful!

I'm going back to bed now that I've taken Alka Seltzer.   Ugh.  Entirely too many Christmas Wishes last night at our neighbors house. Ick! Embarrassed

Happy New Year!! :)  Love all you guys <3

First part of the evening was at the neighborhood stump (we set fire to it and roast smores and hot dogs).  Much of the neighborhood came down and the kids ran around with glee wearing glow in the dark necklaces and bearing glow sticks.  It was fun!

Kids made it to about 9:30 and they headed to bed.  then DH and I decided to ring in the new year while soaking in the hot tub :-D a aaahhh.. Love that thing.  Talked about years past and things to come.

What one word would you use to describe the hopes you have for the new year?   I chose Fruitful, it can be applied to so many things.
