The gosh darn plows are out on the street.  I hear them going by the front of my beautifully plowed driveway.  I could say a few things about them plowing snow across my nice clean driveway!!!

I hear you!  I hate it when I get the whole driveway cleared and then the plow comes by and pushes that giant, lumpy, icy pile right at the end.  Ugh!

Well, the snow is shoveled at my place. The guy in the little Bobcat thing did me a huge favor, but appears not to have done that for anyone else. He can up really close to my car. I love that guy. Of course, my turd of a dad went out and shoveled... behind his car tires. I was so tempted this morning when I did my mom's parking space and the walkway to go throw it all right behind his car. He came in this morning from his oh so hard work of shoveling like he had done a wonderful great deed. He couldn't even be bothered to shovel the walk a little bit, or do a little of my mom's space. I swear next time it snows, I am not shoveling his car at all. In my entire life, I have never known him to shovel more than enough to get his own car out. It has always been my mom, my older sister and I who have done it. He's the type of person who would shovel only his own car out in order to go to the gym. Can you tell I am angry at all?

Am at work buried (but by work).

Saw True Grit yesterday -- really good movie.  Incredibly well cast.

I really want to see True Grit. Hopefully soon.

I really have to wonder just how ridiculously dumb people can be. When my voicemail message says to give me your full name, reason for calling and a good contact number - I don't just say that to hear myself talk (or make you listen to me drone on and on in my voicemail message)! I had no less than 3 voicemails from people who just said, "Hi I'm calling you back, please call" with no name, number or why the heck I called them (plus their numbers were restricted, so I couldn't rely on caller ID). I usually make over a hundred calls per week people! *head desk* I also love it when people return my call 2 MONTHS LATER, wondering if I can still accept their work (umm no, considering your work was due within 24 hours of your assignment and the most I can give you for an extension is 1 or 2 days later).

Has common sense died?  Must make more hot cocoa...

I hope you all are staying warm. Really hard to tell how much snow we got since its so windy out. I took Ari out last night for her final potty break and OMG she went NUTS. She LOOOVES the snow. Her human does not appreciate butt tuck zoomies while she is leashed however. Today, we'll get her outside off leash so she can run around and dive into the snow to her hearts content.

I have a new dog pen and can just push a bit of snow out of the way, open the door, and out they go!  Soooo, I went back to bed, then got up and had a piece of homemade banana bread and coffee, and I'm going to veg out till Mike's dad gets here later.  He'll snow blow and I'll shovel.  Not looking forward to being cold and shoveling, but no choice.  There's more than a foot here.  Work is closed.  I still haven't gotten any word if my training center has power, but have FB'd the landlady to find out.

I hope everyone had a good Christmas or whatever holiday you celebrate Big Smile  I haven't had time yet to catch up on the chatter threads.

DH and I had a nice Christmas.  It was kind of quiet this year, but that was fine.  We spent some time at his parent's place with his brother, wife and their kids and we spent some time at my parents place with my brother and his now fiance.  DH and his brother were outside all day on Christmas building an igloo.  It's really good!  They dug a tunnel in to it through the snowbank/drift and the igloo was on the other side of the snowbank/drift. The igloo was made of actual cut blocks of snow.  The snow was absolutely perfect for it!

We are home now, putting away our gifts - we were spoiled again this year too.  Smile and tidying up the house, my parents are coming to visit tomorrow.  The strangest gift I got was from my grandma - she gave us money as usual, but also an indian cookbook!  It looks like a fantastic book, we love indian food and I can't wait to make some of the receipes in there.  I just have no idea how my grandma thought or came up with that idea.  LOL.  I assume someone helped her, but realistically, none of my aunts or uncles know very much about me, LOL.  Either way, DH and I are having indian allllll week.

Oh my!  We've got another 6 inches since I shoveled this morning.  It's slowing down finally, but still coming down a bit.  Every bone and muscle are already aching.  Will wait until it stops to do anymore clearing, but the winds will likely shove a lot of it back anyway.  Winds are to gust up to 45 mph.  Crud.

And, lovely, have to go to Walmart to pick up meds for DH and one for me.  Something about holidays.....woke up on Thanksgiving with a shingles outbreak, then same thing on Christmas.  This one, I felt coming, but the pharmacy closed really early on Christmas Eve and they couldn't get it ready yesterday???  Glad it wasn't a CRITICAL med!

So if you want news other than snow - this was in the news this morning for all you who THINK you wanna live in Floooor-daaaa:

FROM YAHOO NEWS:  (INTRO COMMENT ABOUT DUMB FLORIDA LAWS)

Some lessons learned in Florida this year:

    - Don't let your dog near frozen iguanas.

    - And if you're a woman visiting a jail, wear a bra, but make sure it doesn't have an underwire.

Florida lived up to its reputation for weirdness in 2010, a year where stupid crimes, poor decisions and general weirdness seemingly showed no geographical or age limits.

For example, South Florida veterinarians began seeing an unusual number of paralyzed dogs and concluded they had a rare disease caught after coming in contact with iguanas killed during a cold snap.

Then there was the Miami attorney who couldn't visit her jailed client because her bra's underwire set off the metal detector. After she removed it, guards wouldn't let her in because she was braless.
