Groan.....on my way out to shovel the new snow.  Did the first foot last night and my body is screaming.  I can't tell how much new fell after we stopped and I'm really not looking forward to finding out.

Sorry for all of you hit with the mega snow!!!

We got lucky here, the worst of it passed us by.

A funny from Christmas... DS#1 holding Charlie, baby's back to his belly, DS#2 and his friends all gathered around.. the entire gang of them doing the twist and Charlie hysterical laughing. DD and SIL didn't intercede. It was a moment that truly warmed my heart.

Of course, my pocket camera and good camera and video camera AND cellphone were all on the way other side so no recording of this of any kind...

Hope everyone stays warm and dry today!!!! One more shift then I'm off tomorrow.

Gosh Glenda don't your guys shovel snow?  That is not good for that bad arm and shoulder of yours, I quit shoveling two years ago because of bad arms.  DH does it all now.  We were fortunate we did not get any snow, but now are getting high winds, Bonnie Blue almost got blown away on our walk this morning, and very very cold here.

Hope all had a wonderful holiday.

snow was great yesterday until our phone, internet, and tv services went down - still down.  Not sure what my best plan is with regard to getting some work done.

Roads are very icy as is our stupidly long driveway - Bugsy insisting on trotting up the drive had legs slipping each step.  Yesterday he wiped out horrifically mid-zoomie - seems OK and I got it on film - so if I ever get service again I can upload it.

Need to check in with my LI family members, the photos I saw online were terrible - I worry about mom and of course now the baby pup!

The new vizsla is to be called Maggie

Well on the bright side looking out my window the tall dark pines draped with snow are being warmed by the rising sun so there is an orange glow at their tops.  If it wasn't 20* with a ghastly wind I might go out and take pics LOL

Alright be safe all and stay warm

I think this will go down as a perfect Xmas weekend. Maybe if next Christmas can be like this one, I'll start being less grouchy this time of the year Stick out tongue Spent Christmas Eve with a few relatives at my Aunts house. Christmas day, the SO and I just lounged around and relaxed. Yesterday, his Mom, brother and his brother's girlfriend came up for a visit, some lunch and just to hand out. Ari was LOVING the company (as were we lol). All in all, quiet, got to visit with some folks and just relaxed. This weekend, I'll likely see my Dad to visit and exchange gifts.

I'll need to go out soon and move my car to the other side of the parking lot, so the plow people can plow our side of the lot. Not looking forward to that! I will say, the snow is pretty. Having no commute makes it even nicer lol.

Hello all you snow bunnies! How come the snow didn't hit us? I could go for a big snow storm.

I have to force myself to get ready for work this morning. Having 4 days off was nice and I don't want to go back, even if it is just for 1 day.

    1 day!

Not much excitement here.  Michigan did not get any snow, but my dearest friend who lives in Norfolk, VA is buried and I'm sure beside herself.  She is a Norfolk native and every year she asks me how we stand the snow and cold.  I'm pretty sure the eastern seaboard now has more snow than even the UP of Michigan does.

Super short week for me and I can't wait to get out of here on Wednesday.

    Everyone stay safe & warm!

Very nice weather here in my part of the world. :)  Stay safe all of you experiencing this snow event.  I saw an interview on TV with a man who went to LaGuardia knowing all flights were canceled.  He was hoping to get a voucher or be put up in a hotel.  Ha ha, he got to spend the night on a cot.

I'm off work today.  I'm going to Michaels to see about having a photo framed.  I have a 55% off coupon!  Another few stops for dog food and this and that.

I hope everyone stays safe in the crazy weather.

Thanks for rubbing your nice weather in, Jackie.  Indifferent  That dude must be a complete idiot; I hope he liked his cot!

Did I mention that yesterday morning I took down the few Xmas decorations I had up? TGIO (thank god it's over).

Anyone who sent me a card (Stephanie & Apollo, Marty) who didn't get one back, I appreciate the thoughts.  I ran out of cards and was too lazy to buy more.

Auburn, we all shoveled last night and then again this morning.  I have the bad shoulder and the super bad shoulder, DH has five stents in his heart so I don't like for him to do much, and DS has a bad knee.  So, as a group we are not so great with 2 feet of snow.  It's a light powder so not as hard to shovel, there is just a TON of it, and the winds are insane.

I got about 3 hours solid sleep last night.  And I was exhausted when I collapsed.  The auto dialer (radio station transmitter that lets us know if the station goes off the air, but truthfully calls just to piss me off at all hours of the day and night just because it can...and never when there is an issue) called at 3:15, then again at 4, and then the alarm started going off at 5:30.  Shame on me, I didn't get up until after 6!

We too have a super long driveway and it's uphill going from the house to the road.  We have a horseshoe, but, the heck if I'm shoveling THAT!  Out at the end of the driveway the where the plows had gone by the snow was easily 3 foot deep.  It was up past my crotch, and I've got a 32 inch inseam so danged deep!!  What's really sad is that as fast as we shoveled it was falling.  With 4WD not such a big deal to go through a few inches, but there was NO going through everything that was there.

Will stay inside and warm up, and then when it finally stops falling will go out and clean up around the mailbox and the back walk.....DH had trouble opening the door for the dogs to go out, and they were NOT happy climbing through snow to pee!

hahaha - I'm one of 5 or 6 people for the whole dept who came in as of 9:15am.  I know one other person who is on my team will be in later (she has kids, so I understand needing to take care of them getting to school first.)  People just assume bad weather and this building is closed - I only remember 1 day in several years that the building was closed, and that's because the State declared an emergency and wouldn't let people drive. heheheh!!

Happy Nor'Easter Dig Out Day! Just got the first round of shoveling done--stairs, walkways, etc. It's a fairly light snow on the bottom with heavy snow in the middle and a crusty icy layer on top--makes for a better workout, right??? It is pretty though! I think we got about a foot but it's hard to tell with the drifting from all the wind. Next are the driveways...two of them (mine and Mom and Dad's). I'll do theirs first. And, I did tell them they're not going anywhere today :-) I'll walk down to the ferry dock later to see if the ferry ran and get a newspaper for them (if it ran and the papers were on it). And, hugs to all who need them.

Round 1 of plowing and shoveling done by 8:30 this morning.  Not bad for two old geezers!!!  Hubby mans the shovel and snow blower.  He clears a 3' section in front of any buildings with the snow blower so I don't have to plow right up close to the building.  He snow blowed a path out to the building where we park the truck w/plow inside.  Wow, is this a joy not having to clean off the truck!!!  For many years we parked the truck on the driveway in the winter.  I think we needed to have our heads examined!!  Having the truck inside is WONDERFUL!!!!

I think we got about 10" total.  But with the wind blowing the snow every which way, it's hard to tell.  It wasn't snowing earlier when I was out plowing.  But it is snowing now.  I'm sure there will be a Round 2 later today.  We can take our time getting out for that.  We needed to be plowed out first thing this morning so a houseguest could get to work.  Hubby and I are retired.  We don't have to be anywhere at any time for any body!!!!

The gosh darn plows are out on the street.  I hear them going by the front of my beautifully plowed driveway.  I could say a few things about them plowing snow across my nice clean driveway!!!  But, I guess the roads need clearing too.  What's the point of having a nice clean driveway if the roads are so bad we don't dare go out and drive on them??  lol!!

I'm pooped already.  But luckily, Round 2 should not be as bad as Round 1.  Hubby cleans "doggie trails" with the snow blower in the yard for the dogs.  They have it made!!!  When I die, I want to come back as a dog!  What a life!!!  At least here at my house!

I woke up this morning all excited to find a heap of snow only to find an inch!!!!  WTF  I was up at 3am to let Tessy out and there was around 6 inches and coming down hard!

I'm bored!!!!  Still layed up cause of the knee!  Can't go for walks!  Can't hike!  Perhaps I'll play te Wii today!

Hope you all have a good one!

    Cheers

Wow - I'm shivering just watching the news about all that snow and wind. Brrrrrrrr! I hope you all stay safe and warm. We're supposed to be in the high 50s today but no rain until tomorrow. It seems like it's been raining for days, so the break will be nice.

I'm off all this week - yay!! DH should be home in a bit and then we'll head to the gym. Other than that, I don't plan to do much else. I do want to organize the office, so maybe I'll work on that this afternoon. In case I haven't mentioned it a million times, I hate filing and tend to let stuff pile up both here and at work.
