Auburn, we all shoveled last night and then again this morning. I have the bad shoulder and the super bad shoulder, DH has five stents in his heart so I don't like for him to do much, and DS has a bad knee. So, as a group we are not so great with 2 feet of snow. It's a light powder so not as hard to shovel, there is just a TON of it, and the winds are insane.
I got about 3 hours solid sleep last night. And I was exhausted when I collapsed. The auto dialer (radio station transmitter that lets us know if the station goes off the air, but truthfully calls just to piss me off at all hours of the day and night just because it can...and never when there is an issue) called at 3:15, then again at 4, and then the alarm started going off at 5:30. Shame on me, I didn't get up until after 6!
We too have a super long driveway and it's uphill going from the house to the road. We have a horseshoe, but, the heck if I'm shoveling THAT! Out at the end of the driveway the where the plows had gone by the snow was easily 3 foot deep. It was up past my crotch, and I've got a 32 inch inseam so danged deep!! What's really sad is that as fast as we shoveled it was falling. With 4WD not such a big deal to go through a few inches, but there was NO going through everything that was there.
Will stay inside and warm up, and then when it finally stops falling will go out and clean up around the mailbox and the back walk.....DH had trouble opening the door for the dogs to go out, and they were NOT happy climbing through snow to pee!
