Well I'm at the beginning of planning a cross country/ life change move.  We're looking at Florida.. Alex has "agreed" to go back to school for video game design. I say "agreed" cuz he doesn't want to help with the planning so I say he is. Lol.

It's stormy... But no snow yet dangit!

I think it's awesome that he wants to go back to school! Though I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, do make sure that the job prospects are good after whatever program he chooses. I know game design can be a pretty tough field to get a job in, and it would be really sad to go back to school and then graduate to no employment...! Best of luck however it turns out :)

Glenda, glad there were no "eruptions" at the interview ;)

    Jackie, sending you healthy thoughts!

Made Pfeffernusse (sp?) cookies and chocolate-marzipan balls. Tomorrow, creampuffs and.... something. Oh, holiday cooking, there is so much of you to do!

I admire all you bakersn chefs and liquor makers. You have all been busy this week!

I had dinner and margs - well actually we just stuck to appetizers - with a friend tonight. We used to do happy margarita hour every other tues but havnet in a while. I miss those margs! And my friend, of course, but those frozen margaritas are soooo good! Yum.

The weather today actually felt pretty warm. Its amazing that anything above 30 can feel so comfortable but all I wore were jeans and a sweatshirt. I could deal with winter so much better if it never went below 30.

Eat your nommies thoughts for Nigel. Good thoughts for the co-worker.

((hugs)) for Barb and sweet lovins for Buddy old man.

krbshappy71, I think you need to post some more pics of your crew. I loves me some bloodhound!

Sonja has been making me insane lately. I'm so exhausted and sleep deprived. Usually she goes to sleep at 8. We're both sick - sore throat, runny nose. We went to visit my sister last weekend, and now we're both sick. OF COURSE. Every cooking time we go there we all get sick.

She's been better today, but now tonight she WON'T go. to. sleep. I'm sooooooo tired. Crying

If you are thinking about moving from Canada to the US I do believe that getting disability will be an issue.  Unless someone is recieving disability benefits from their company or through private insurance, they would have to apply for Social Security disability benefits.....and you've had to put something in over the years to take something out.  SS disability is hard to get.  The workers comp attorneys put me at 87% disabled, but I was still denied SS benefits.....they reasoned that there was "something" I could do to earn a living.  and, yes, there is, but most of what I do causes pain at some level.  So please really look into that, especially coming from another country.

Even IF he is able to get benefits, it takes a very long time and lots of appeals for it to happen.
