    Thursday Chat

I was trying to think of a much more clever title....just couldn't do it.

Working open to close again.  Tomorrow we close at 4, Saturday closed for Christmas and I am off on Sunday !

My friend's dog Nigel needs some good vibes.  He's not interested in food (except fresh cooked chicken) and still battling a UTI.  He's lost 3 lbs in about 2 weeks (he's a JRT and 3 lbs is a lot for a little guy).  Anyway, the bloodwork from Tuesday looks good but he's getting an ultrasound today at 1 pm.  Let's hope that sheds some light on what is going on.

I hope everyone is feeling good and not too stressed out.  What's the point of all this "holiday" business if we are way too freaked out to enjoy it !?!?!?

Sending good vibes for Nigel.  Poor guy.

We got just a little snow last night....freshens things up and makes it look pretty.  This morning it's 22 and feels like 9.  Brrrr!

Think I'll do some cinnamon rolls for Christmas today.  And hopefully DS will give me soem ideas.....otherwise, he'll find a lump of coal in his stocking and nothing else!  I really have NO desire to go out and shop today.  Blech.  But, tomorrow would be worse.

Sending good vibes for Nigel.  I hope they can find out what's going on with the little guy.

We're eating oatmeal raisin cookies for breakfast at work.  Yummy if I do say so myself. lol

Today is my Friday and I'm not working Monday.  YAY!

Good vibes for Nigel coming from Michigan.

DS came home last night and apologized, admitted he overreacted and was way out of line with the "cook off".  I told him it was not my intent to antagonize him, that my concern is for his safety (w/regards to his car), but that I'm not trying to control his life. It is growth on his part to be able to apologize and admit I'm not the cause of his troubles.

Glenda, since I started working again 12 years ago, I found it easier to shop on Christmas Eve (because sometimes I didn't have a choice).  I go out really early and there aren't many people at all.

    Must work now.

Sounds good tina. Maybe he will turn over a new leaf soon.

I'm debating shutting off my cable for a while. When the cable bill is higher than the elctric bill, something is our of whack.

I put whole peanuts out on the window feeder this morning and the blue jays are entertaining me with their antics to weigh each peanuts before picking one.

Ok I seriously need to get moving. Shower, vet, lab for blood work, shopping. That's just the beginning.

I love watching the jays do this!   :)

Glenda I hope the interview went well! fingers and paws crossed for you!

Tina, yay for expresso and apologies!!

A coworker went to the emergency room yesterday, she hit her head on the job (her main job). While there, they found out she has a heart problem. Any good vibes sent her way would be greatly appreciated!!

On a selfish side note, this brings us down to a 3 woman crew... not good, not good, not good.

Good vibes for Nigel and the co-worker. :(

This morning was a better morning than the last two. Trying to do a new routine in the morning while staying at my sisters and then managing the dogs, baby gates and the cat has been getting more and more difficult for me. I wake up really sore and having to take the dogs out first thing is really tough on me. Today was better because DH took them out for me and fed them, so all I had to worry about was me.  My back and hip have been really sore the last few days and no amount of stretching will relieve it. It's time for some drugs again I guess.

The best thing today though was being able to wake up next to DH. We've been separated from each other since May with only a week long visit every 30 days or so. Now we won't have to be separated for a long time.

Good thing I only had two days of work this week.  I don't think I would survive a full week.

ahh poor Nigel -- some dogs can just go off their food from feeling "poorly" and not eating is a vicious cycle because soon the tummy is too tender to process food.

and wow -- good co-worker thots -- you think the worst thing on your mind is your aching head and then you find you have a major problem AT CHRISTMAS.  eww.  good thots and prayers there!

    Take care everbuddy!!

Good thoughts for Nigel and co-worker!  Yea for Tina's son appologizing on his own.   Hope this is a new beginning for him.:)

I hit the mailbox lotto this morning, rotf.... I must have had 15 more Christmas cards!  I am loving these cards!

Jackie, this is my friday and I am off Monday too.  The boys will get to go see their favorite vet and family for their checkups on monday!  We will travel to Tulsa to see family Saturday but only staying for the day.

Leslie {{{{very gentle hugs}}}}  I am so sorry you are hurting,  "tis the season"  Dont know why or what is different but this has been a rough couple of weeks for everyone I know with Arthritis, Fibro, MS  all those "boy my body hurts" things

Good thoughts for Nigel and for the coworker. It sounds like a good thing in a way that she hurt her head. The sooner you know about issues like heart problems, the better.

After yesterday's wine talk, I decided that tonight I need to buy a bottle lol. What I really need to do is Christmas shop lol, but I think I'll do that all tomorrow morning. I gotta keep with my traditional Xmas eve shopping!

Good vibes for Nigel...eat young man!

I'm making myself scarce this morning at the house, trying to stay out of the housekeeper's way.  So are the dogs...they are in the back yard, and none to happy about it.  lol.  Spoiled much?

So, I take a cup of coffee and decide to take a walk in the back .25 of the property with Buddy and the Hooligans.  All toys are put up, so alas...Heidi must make do with sticks.  Confused  She chooses the biggest one she can carry around.  Literally its longer than her body and about 4 inches in diameter.  Where is my camera when I need it.  She is so silly.

Honestly Aunties and Uncs...I'm getting very concerned about my Buddy's mobility issues.  Yes, the JD helped, but more and more he just falls down and I have to put my arms under and around his back side to help him up.  I love that dog so much...but its getting really hard to watch him struggle to get around.  I'm watching him carefully and closely...he, of course, wants to be a part of the family; is eating well; eliminating well.  Time will tell.  We've talked about getting one of those rear end wagon type devices...but I just don't know about those.  Sweet bubby...its hell getting old.

Barb, we felt a similar way with Tiki - she never stopped eating or anything, but it was when she'd fall and NOT try to get back up, was when I felt like she was ready. She wasn't willing to struggle anymore.

I really need to get moving, I need to leave for work here shortly. Ugh.

(((((Barb and Buddy)))))  It's so hard to watch them struggle. I made a sling for one of my old labs who had trouble getting up.  I sewed some old towels together in a very crude fashion but it worked and it was easier on my back.  You can buy them too but not hard to rig up something.  Give your sweet boy some kisses from his Aunt Jackie.
