    Last November Monday Chat

Sorry -- again I was not online much -- trying to sleep away this "relapse".  Steph I'm sorry your weekend sucked.  Tina, I'm glad you at least had great "gimp" company!

Glenda - I posted late on Sunday's chat -- try taking a bit MORE valerian so it lasts longer (it's like a tonic - "more" doesn't make it stronger - it tends to make it last longer).  OR keep some valerian *tincture* (the non-alcohol one) at the bedside to take when you wake up -- it works fast (in about 5 minutes) and should help you get back to sleep.

Somebuddy threw up just before I left the house this afternoon ... I'm suspecting Luna and I think she's gonna go back to the vet a.s.a.p -- I think her tummy issues remain unresolved.

I'm going to put self to bed again -- am not gonna moan and groan.  Ain't no use in it and I'm determined not to drag it into Monday!!

Thanx for the tip Callie.  It's soooo strange to have to take something for sleep.....I quit moving and it's pretty much over for me, but staying that way.....so, will try that.

It's too early to be Monday already.

    need coffee.  by the gallons.

brrr 25* again this morning! But will be mostly sunny and head up towards 60* later

I am afraid to jinx myself but we haven't had hiccups since yesterday about 11 am.   fingers crossed its settling down

DH sneezed at 5:21 and that was the end of my sleep - sigh.

I vow that starting today I am going to eat like a normal person - I've really gone wild over this holiday weekend

This post is taking forever because Bugsy is demanding that I keep one hand on him - I'm cooperating because he isn't a very snuggly dog so take it when you can!

OK ready for my next cup of java

Oh and Paige DH made amaretto whipped cream to go with the pannetone bread pudding we had last night LOL

Finally got the courage to check and it's 24 degrees here, but, the high is to be 45, so that will feel a bit like a heat wave!  But, I can always add clothes and layer and I'm not sweating constantly like I was in FL, or freezing because FL is having the coldest winter in history and the furnace doesn't work.

I didn't want the long weekend to ever end.  Now it's back to reality.  We had some odd and funny experiences.  Some captured on camera and some not.  We were having breakfast one morning and I noticed a woman kept staring at us.  I didn't think much of it but she came over to our table as she and her husband were leaving.  She said Charles looked exactly like her brother and even had similar mannerisms.

We also had a grackle hitchike a ride across the ferry riding on our windshield wiper.  lol  We tried turning on the wipers to scare him off but he'd obviously done this before and was not to be deterred.  Grackles are pretty smart birds.  We saw several grackles looking and finding food in the back of pick up trucks.

GabbyG found a lovely rotten bird head to nosh on at one point.  Ewwww.  It wasn't easy to get it from her.  She wasn't going to trade that prize for a dry dog cookie. lol   Finally got it from her before she could eat too much of it.

Rex and Belle were happy to see us when we picked them up at the boarding kennel.  They aren't any worse for the experience as far as I can tell.  We tired them out before we dropped them off.   Actually, we didn't tire them out.  We just took them where they could chase shore birds endlessly until their tongues were hanging to the ground. lol

Gabby was a great little traveler and met many new people and did great in the hotel. :)

Thanks for all the compliments on the girls yesterday. I think I will try to get something set up later today. Or maybe tomorrow. I just remembered I have a glorious chiropractor appointment this afternoon.

Bad mommy alert! Yesterday DH and Willa were playing music downstairs (DH on bass, Willa beating the drums - super cute.) I had to take care of some... uh, business... so I brought Sonja in the bathroom with me. There was a bottle of generic Tylenol on the counter. I checked that the childproof lid was closed completely, then gave it to her to keep her busy. She had fun shaking it and rolling it around on the floor. Then, yup - you guessed it! She banged it on the edge of the cabinet and BAM. Pills everywhere. It actually scared her, well that and my sudden panic! So luckily she didn't really want to go near it anymore, so I was able to get everything picked up without incident! Sheesh!

Rascal decided it was too cold to pee outside this morning, so he peed inside by the door instead. Then I went to make my morning tea with cream and sugar, only to find no cream (of course, after I'd already brewed the cup). Then attempted to pack a lunch, had to use my "bad" tupperware since others are occupied, and in wrestling with the lid spilled said sweetened but un-creamed tea all over the counter, which was filled with lots of other (paper) things which are now soaked and probably ruined. The salt, a couple of new bags of loose tea, a handwritten recipe... Cold, grumpy, tired, uncaffeinated... sounds about right for a Monday after Thanksgiving! ;)

Tons of homework to get done before I leave for the vacation, slept through thanksgiving due to my 12 hour shift the night before.. but I FINAAALLLY found the leash handle I've been looking for for two years now!! Hopefully, it will get rid of the last leash issues I've been working on Thatcher with because he can't get away from me (and easier to turn him, if necessary). When I get back Sunday, it's "serious" dog training and working out time. Hope everyone has a good day.

Courtney, the day can only improve, right?

Jackie, glad your trip was enjoyable.  Funny about the lady and also the grackle.

Janice, all parents do those things - you aren't a bad mom.

Callie, hopefully you get better soon.

Glenda, it's only going to get colder.

My work wasn't too piled up when I got here - small amount of mail, only one voice message, and about 40 emails I need to handle.  I suppose I'd best get to it.

Lovely Monday. I got a text from someone this morning asking me to cover her work this afternoon and tomorrow. I don't really want to. I am already making up for someone on this case. She claims she will cover me this weekend if I take hers, but she has a history of saying she will cover me and canceling last minute. I definitely can't cover her for tomorrow. Today is possible, but I don't really feel like it. It sounds like one of these things she knew about one of these before hand. I'm not replying to her yet.

Janice - definitely not a bad mommy!!  Do you recall when Riley pooped out a peso?  We didn't even know she ate it.

Work is piled up so high its depressing.  The end of the year is soo soo rushed it drives be crazy!  We had a nice weekend, but back to the grind today.  Had a dream I was trying to catch a plane to Bermuda...awww, I wish!

sounds like work for everbuddy is majorly busy and kinda a hassle -- it is here as well.

Jackie -- glad you had a good time and some funny memories.

Nose to grindstone -- I probably won't get back here before late tonight.  Have a good day all!

This day is going great. Got to work only to realize my badge is not where I keep it in my car so I can't get in to the bldg or the parking garage. I spent 15 mins looking for it, then called my boss who is too straight laced to loan me hers wave at the guards (who never look). So then I went home, tore apart my car some more, and my house. Its going on 10 and I'm still not at work. I'm about ready to throw my hands up in the air.
