 We have had a few similar situations in this area..lost pets that you'd wonder who the heck wouldn't be looking for them. Here only a few people will actually take the time to post ads and put up fliers. They may call shelters and vet offices. And many won't even use free services like CL.

A client at work lost one of her Xolos a few years ago. Now, these people adore their dogs..they get routine vet care, have spent a ton on the dental issues common to the breed.... Yet, they never put any ads up for him..and never found him.  Baffling

Same here.  A guy came in to the shelter Saturday while I was there looking for his dog that had wandered off.  He said he had been searching for hours.  I asked him if he had called the major 24 hour emergency hospital-where most likely he would  of been brought if someone had found him and he said no!  I gave him the number and told him to definately call them and he honestly didn't look like he wanted too.  Its what they want to do and how far they want to go.  RI isn't a very big state yet to most people that live here a 20 minute drive is a long trip. 

Im glad the dog was taken care of before he/she went home and im glad the dog and owners are reunited.

What Im missing here is why are some posters thinking the worst and guessing the O.P is lying or leaving out information? Is there a background of the O.P I over looked?? Or are some posters just naturally negative and think the worst of most? I understand some people are just negative and accuse and thats okay, everyone has thier quirks but is there a reason behind it? Not trying to be rude just curious about it.
