How cute!  When did you get a pug?  They seem like nice dogs though.  The ones I know are all really sweet and loving.  And, yes, they love to eat too.  Did you cut Samantha's hair?  It looks cute.

"It's a pug thing" .... *smile*-- laying "on" somebuddy -- dog or human ... doesn't matter.  As long as you are parked "on" them.  Tink will back her butt up against Billy, Luna, David, me ... whoever.  and "Sit" on them.  Or ... she'll lie down with her chin propped on them.

It's a pug thing.  Yep.  Sure is.

Food motivated? Oh yeah.  Just cut her food back a bit -- you can get weight off her.  But they do love to eat ... I've not met a pug yet that wasn't food motiated.

Well, at least he does not look like a stray!  That is a great sign that he probably has a home, him being so chunky and all.  Poor thing must have wandered quite a ways!

I do hope you find his home!  Has he been scanned yet for a microchip?  Maybe put some signs up and around whatever town you are close to, or call vet's offices, because he may be a patient at one of them and they might recognize him!  I hope he find's his way back home!!  His owners are probably worried sick!

ETA:  Looking at your pictures again, I see he has a tag!!  What does it say?

I really hope that this isn't another dog that you actually picked up from the shelter, a breeder, or craigslist. A pug walking in to your yard is pretty far fetched. Especially an over weight one like that. They aren't known for their long distance wandering abilities.

We have a guest today. A very fat Pug was out in my yard sniffing around when I let the dogs out this morning. She had a rabies tag but it's not one I've ever seen before. It says "vaccinated for rabies" and a rabies number. Nothing else. Where is the vet number?!!She's 25lbs! I just weighed her. Nice and clean, very nice short nails, dewclaws removed, and crate trained(or just dont care). She's sitting at my feet snorting away.

From Monday's chat -- in case you missed it, l.michelle.

Yes she got gum in it so off it went. Told her if she ever got gum or lice I would shave her head. Well I came close!!

It says "vaccinated against rabies" and then a rabies number. No phone number of any sort. What am I supposed to do with that?

Call your vet & see if they can help you track down the tag number.  I would think there's some way to find the info.

Perhaps it is a tag from a low-cost rabies provider (like animal control might do).  Try calling animal control & explain the situation.  There ARE ways to find information if the tag has a number on it.  At the very least you should file a found animal report with them.

LOL, Porky Pug....Wink I hope you find "Porky's" owners.  I am a pug lover having one as a child.  Samantha is growing up so much, love her haircut.

He looks like he has a home that loves him.... someone must be very worried!  Have you put up flyers, put a shout out on the local radio....?  Having had my dog "found" by someone, I'm just thinking of things I wished THEY had done :-/

Tried craigslist but it wont let me!

    Really? that is weird.

What paper did you post in Kim? I can check the Louisville area.

Cute pug!  The rabies tag looks similar to the ones we give at our shelter when adopting dogs out. Maybe contact some local shelters and file reports with them and see if they can look up the number on the tag.
