Julie - I think we need pictures of your new foster! Stat. :)

What the heck do 10 year old girls like?? I am trying to figure out Christmas presents for my niece and nephews in BC and haven't the faintest idea of what to get them. Actually, part of their present will be a ton of ski/biking/snowboarding movies - all three are super into those sports and fantastic at them too. The one nephew I think we have figured out - he's 7 and has decided that he wants an avalanche shovel for building jumps in the backcountry while snowboarding, LOL - I love him! I think we'll get him that. The younger nephew is four and he shouldn't be too hard to figure something out for - nerf gun perhaps? I am having huge troubles with ideas for what to get our niece. She's 10, she likes acting and singing.....she's an outdoorsy girly girl. LOL. If that makes any sense. She is also quite mature for her age. They all are.

I went shopping at lunch and started with Timmy and Sadie's Christmas presents. Timmy will be the proud owner of a Wubba come Christmas. I have my doubts on it's lasting ability, but we will see. At least he will enjoy it .

Well I turned copies of my checks into the police station and now I'm waiting for the cop on my case to get back to me to go from there. The ex didn't even spell my last name right how sad if your going to forge my name on my own check at least spell it right. Need to tidy up my place before I go and do dishes.

Sometime during our shopping, Bev lost his tulle.  I thought that it had came untied & fallen off.  Instead, the evil bitch untied it & ate it. Confused

I shoulda known with Cher involved there would have been a more elegant answer than snagging a pot scrubber.  THAT would only happen in my house! LOL

One sorry excuse for a human.  SOOOO glad you dumped him, Melinda!!  You are worth more than that to all those who love you.  I hope karma gets that toolbag.  (I get to be a stranger who can be aggressive on your behalf, mkay?  Big Smile)

My truck won't start. I drove it all morning into the afternoon without a problem, then I went to get a coffee, came out and it won't turn over. The tow truck driver who towed to to the mechanics thinks it has to do with my security feature (because I had it disabled) or I need a new key because mine is worn down. URRRRGH. I do NOT need to be paying for any repairs now (Molson is due back at the vets on Thursday)! My truck is also making this delighful squeeking noise that sounds very similar to nails on a chaulk board. *sigh* I feel like paying somone to steal it and total it...but at the same time I really do like her- the Blazer and I have a love/hate relationship.

Molsons ears are lookin' good lately (I don't want to jinx myself, lol). The vet gave us 7 days of raw beef patties to try. Did I mention I love our vet? She's all for homecooking or raw and doesn't even sell Science Diet! She's also into Chinese herbs and holistics, very cool.

Could we all think a happy thought for Pirate's 'cousin' Jack? I don't have the details from my sis, but she said she's at the vet and they think his leg is broken :(

Deb, you've spoiled the entire book for Tina by telling her the ending was a surprise.  At least with Charles, that's what he would say.  If I even mention any little thing about a book he wants to read, he gets all pissy.

Melinda, I'm sure you hope that monkeyjake (is that the word Joyce coined?) will get his karma delivered soon.  Stay safe and know we're all behind you.  I've got a shovel, btw.

Steph, that's a bummer about your truck.  I hate mechanical problems with vehicles.  It's great that Molson's ears are looking better.  Your vet sounds like a dream.

Didn't I see where the NE had a terrible winter storm yesterday or last night?   Stay safe you frozen peeps.

She really is and I wouldn't even know it until Molson! Usually she's in to examine/listen, out to test, and back with a diagnosis. She's not into chatting (busy small practice with only 1 vet). But, when Molson's ears really started to get nasty she asked me what I feed him. When I told her she started going on and on about raw for allergy dogs. She gave me a ton of papers on the pros of a raw diet, but when I left I was still a little clueless. Then she called the next day and said I could pick up a week of raw beef patties (with organ and bone) FREE to try.

I have a lot of nieces and nephews (most with kids of their own) and I this year I decided to check with the moms for favorite places and go with gift certificates.  Their tastes, sizes, favorite colors etc. all change with the wind and it's too hard to keep up with all of it. They get something they really want and I save a fortune on  postage. Big Smile It's win win. Besides Christmas, between one of my sisters and myself, we have 13 December/January birthdays to deal with, and that can get totally overwhelming. We just take care of all the birthdays regardless of when they are and make an effort to remember where we've stashed stuff.

Nah, not spoiled for me.  It's a surprise anyway, right?  Spoiled is my co-worker telling me I should rent "Gran Torino" and then telling me Clint Eastwood's character dies at the end.

Melinda, I'm sure you hope that monkeyjake (is that the word Joyce coined?)

I think it was "jack monkey".  No worries, though.  My DS, whose name is Jake, has been confused with a monkey at times.  LOL  But, I'm pretty sure Melinda wouldn't be my son's type.

Good thoughts going out to Jack.

Outdoorsy ten year old girl gift?  I'm always trying to get kids to read, so I would get a book related to nature/animals.  Gift certificates are good too.

Thanks, Tina.  I know I can always count on your memory to help when I'm floundering. :)  I was close.   BTW,  I was mostly kidding Deb about ruining the book for you but she's probably playing poker online and won't see my post. lol   WTG, Tina's coworker on ruining Gran Torino for Tina.

jackmonkey is my word, but Joyce used it because it is sooo very useful! :D

Speaking of usefulness... the DMV is not answering their phones.  Today is *not* a holiday.  Please at least route me to a call center.  Nope, someone just picked up the phone and hung it up!!!  lol  I'm going to keep calling and going to keep letting it ring.  Deal with it - it's your job!  My taxes pay your salary.

Oh my gosh this little dog is so cute. He hops with happiness when ever I give him praise and attention.

My nieces like video games for their wii or the computer. They love gift cards too so they can pick out their own stuff. The 10 year old is out doorsy too so anything to do with camping is good. She also loves books and there's a bunch of series out for girls that age.

Paige, I hope someday to see your word in Webster's.  lol  It's a very useful word and maybe if I repeat it ten times, fast, I'll remember it when I need it.  Or I can just fumble up my version.

Sprint lady just called me but I told her to call me back tomorrow.  I'm in too good a mood today to fool with those jackmonkeys. Big Smile
