Happy end of DST, Sunday Chat!

Hope everyone enjoyed their extra hour of sleep. I woke up this morning at 6:00, which I guess is like 7:00. I hate this, because now it is 7:18 AM and I am starving. Perhaps I will push the books aside now and move in the new bookshelf.

Hmm thought it was fall back and spring forward so if you woke up at 6 wouldn't it be five?  This change always confuses me! Crying

What she ment is her body said it's 7...but now it is really 6....

I had the same issue, was up at 5am by the new clock.........

It is very quiet and peaceful here today, I plan to do nothing more than work on quilts, if I am a good girl I should get 2 done.

No, it would be like 7, I know so because my watch was reading 9:30 when I changed it back just now. Now I've been up two and a half hours, and I don't have to be anywhere for another hour. I did get a bit done this morning. All three dogs went out. I finished removing the bookshelf from my room, brought the new one in, moved my first load of wash to the dryer, and put another load of wash in. Still, I have been up now for two and a half hours, and I am not happy.

griffin - I'm sorry about your grandmother and the stress you're going thru with your mom.. (((HUGS)))

I woke up at 5 to the sound of rain and Sassy whimpering to go out. DH had to get up soon for work anyway, so I never went back to sleep. I know I'll be hating it when it gets dark early today but I am loving that it's so light already.

I got most of my cleaning done yesterday, so I only need to pick up some groceries today. It's nice to have a day to myself and not a lot to do.

I changed all the clocks last night.  So when the the TV news ended at 10:30 and I was in bed, my clock said 9:30.  Got up this morning at 7 according to the clock....8 according to my body.  This is always a weird couple of days.  The sunrise and sunset don't help.  It will now be dark at 5 in the afternoon.

Baby shower at noon for my SIL.  This is her first and we went a little overboard on gifts.  Money is really tight for them....we used their Target gift registry and got just about everything that wasn't already purchased.  We can afford it and they will need all the little goodies.  I am actually looking forward to this shower......she is very much against all the stupid little games !  YAY !!

Yardwork this afternoon along with doggie play.....gotta finish my secret santa shopping too :)  Weather will be 60 and sunny.  Very strange for this time of year.

    Have a great day !

oye.  I thot a shot of demoral would give me a solid nights sleep, but that sure wasn't the case.  And the time change always  confuses the heck out of me too.  Must call the ortho first thing in the AM.  I can't continue to deal with this kind of pain.  TWO natural childbirths, several surgies, and I have never had this kind of pain in my life.  It's better this morning, but I know it's just sitting there waiting for me to do something it doesn't like so it can pounce again.  The waiting is *almost* worse than the pain.

It is absolutely beautiful here today!!  Gorgeous!  Bright and sunny....cold, but pretty.  Will have to take a drive today just to celebrate the beauty.  With my trusty pain meds and ice pack just in case!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

I was asleep by 8:30 last night and up around 6 this morning. Unreal!

I'm so enjoying this long morning though. Its sunny and quiet. I busted out some new squeeky tennis balls earlier for the dogs and they are now happily napping.

I plan to chip away at laundry (dog blankets, etc) today but not doing much else. *relaxed*!

There was ice on the deck this morning Surprise  I had to block it off for B and his girlfriend's playdate, just too slippery to risk it.

It is the blue-est sky imaginable today, just got back from a nice walk with DH.  Toooooooo gorgeous - this is my favorite weather.  I was surprised to see that at 11am the ice was still there though.

I have to finish the cleaning later - DH is off to a conference so I'll do it after he leaves.

I am too lazy to post the Bugsy versus giant pumpkin pics here - so they are on FB if any one wants to see it.

The clock changes always effect my stomach more than anything - I am hungry at the wrong times.  It will be nice to have it a bit brighter in the mornings but I hate the dark evenings.  Ah well.

Glenda sorry about your shoulder - I hope it begins to feel better today.  Griff sorry about your stress.

The Zenyatta race was wonderful to watch, her finish is extraordinary.  I did find myself anxious as she made her way through the paddocks (not sure if that's the right word), it was so noisy and she was doing weird stuff with her footing that kept me anxious she'd hurt herself.  I was sad she didn't win but mostly overpowered watching her blow by so many.  What a fabulous heart she has! I could watch that finish over and over and get chills everytime.

Speaking of fabulous, my niece who I have mentioned before has had an amazing cross country season again.  She won her regionals and yesterday came in 10th in the state - she's a sophomore and apparently 8-10 were so close it took several reviews to choose the order.  She's still so tiny but super tough and her strength is hills and closing. She loves to run from behind.  Love it - really love it.  My nephews ( and sister) attended - the boys are so funny.  The 21 yr old ran as much as he could along with her, cutting through a couple of spots to stay with her and cheer her on.  They are both such awesome brothers to her - great kids all of them.

OK feels like time for a snack LOL

    Good morning all.

I have a sinus infection which drains into my throat and I have that loud cough that is driving me crazy.  Took some sudaphed and some robutussin and I am feeling somewhat better.  MOstly feel like dirt.

My neighbor also called me and asked if I could wash her skunked dog.  Um... NO?!  I don't want skunk stink in my house tyvm!

Good thoughts to everyone, I am going to rest on this dreary rainy day.

Karen - congrats to you and your niece. Sounds like she's a bit of a Zenyatta herself. I too enjoyed that race. I think had it been 15 yards longer, she'd have blown by Blame but she still did amazing. I was nervous when they were walking her from the barn too. She was definitely amped up and rarin to go.

I went to the grocery store and wondered why I'd bothered to wash and blow dry my hair. Between the rain and wind, I look pretty bad now but that's okay. DH is working and I'm planning to do next to nothing today.

Have to say I was surprised to wake up and find it pouring.  They said to expect rain late in the day or tonight so I figured I had time to do doggy clean up in the yard. I'll do it if it lets up, but I won't go out in a downpour to do it.

Glenda, sorry about your shoulder giving you fits.  Hopefully the ortho can figure something out for you.

I've been looking forward to an arts & crafts bazaar today but the weather is making me reconsider.  It's right downtown at the OddFellows hall where parking is a bi*ch under the best of conditions.  Maybe I'll go check it out, and if I find parking - great.  If I don't find a spot after I've circled a couple of times, I'll just go back home.

No  Auburn it means you "fall back" by setting the clock back an hour.

I know I'm in the minority but I *LOVE* this time change.  So it gets dark?  Turn on a light!!  I'm not a morning person but have always been a night owl -- so this always suits me better.

Gabby woke me at 5:00 am.  She was ready to start the day and no amount of pillows over my head could drown out her babbling.  She's now napping with the other dogs.

The sky is so blue and clear it makes me want to be a bird soaring over the fields. This is by far my favorite time of year.  I've been busy with cleaning out this and that but today I hope to enjoy this beautiful weather.

Twister is limping on his front right leg.  This has been going on since Friday and he won't put weight on it unless he's in play mode which I'm trying to avoid so he doesn't do more damage.  I have no clue what could be wrong which is why I guess I'll be taking him in tomorrow.  I had a vet appointment for Belle tomorrow to get her annual vaccines but I may see if I can swap dogs or take them both, if they have time at the clinic.

    Have a great day everyone.

Put my in the "not a fan of the time change" category.  I could care less how dark it is in the morning, but I like it light for the evening.  I hate coming home in the dark.

DH and FIL are downstairs laying the tile in the washroom.  We've only had it gutted for about a year now, LOL.  I can hardly wait for it to be done!  They painted it last night and this morning and are going to lay the tile today.  Hopefully DH and I can manage to grout it one night this week after work.  Then I will try to get my parents up to visit in a couple weeks to help hook up the new vanity and toilet.  The new shower requires some replumbing, so I think that will have to wait until later.  FIL is the one who's best at plumbing.  At least we will have a usable washroom down there in the forseeable future.

The other bonus is, once that washroom is done, we get to start looking seriously for hardwood for upstairs.  :)  No more carpet!!
